long time didnt do rom mod, forgot oledi..

simplest way to upgrade how??

downloaded, but in .tar file..how to flash

Then i rename this file to updater.zip and place it phone in internal storage base directory.
Next step is to backup your own phone data eg contacts, whatsapp chats etc etc.

then go to updater app, select the ... 3 dotted buttons icon and select Choose update package. Then choose the updater.zip file which you placed in your base directory.

do you need unlocked bootloader for this? or can straight away flash from global ROM?

owh..make sense now..i downloaded the one for fastboot update

1st order: Bought on 29/6, Gem5 acknowledged on 1/7, delivered on 4/7.
2nd order: Bought on 7/7, Gem5 acknowledged on 7/7, delivered on 13/7.

Its preloaded with vendor ROM though

bought 64gb microsd card from lazada. installed on RN3, show popup card is not recognize format, so need reformat. after that can use edy.

but im not sure what thing need to put into the sd storage now. hahaha.

My bootloader is unlocked but what i understand from that thread is that only mi max 32gb is required to be unlocked.
I think the method that i use doesnt require bootloader to be unlocked.

will do..the reason for me to update is to test wifi conectivity...with enterpise network 802.1x..
