I think you are.
DSD is for people to test out diving. They would not be wasting money to get the license and not use it if they dislike the feeling of diving.
Correct or not Flo?

i mean i understand DSD is like a tryouts session, but doesnt doing it multiple times already prove you are into it? at least thats what i understand, since not everyone thinks the same i wont compare.

although what i thought earlier was flo already had an OWD but still took a DSD which might had let me to a little bit of confusion is where im at now, sorry if i misunderstood sad.gif sad.gif

Cause not everyone can dive. Majority can, but not everyone enjoys it also. Some of my friends really want to dive, but certain things stop them from taking the OW license.

DSD is only RM200 or so only. So why not try it out before really investing in an OW license? When I did it years back, it was prolly below RM100 haha.

Lol. Sorry for the multiple posts of the same message.

hehe nah.. thought u have tried out some form of diving before buying equipment. Coz thats a big leap and commitment to buy first in case you later realise its not what you want.. Furthermore, some people realise they have problems when they dive or turn out hating it or cant even use it.

Well to be fair breathing and moving underwater does not come naturally for some. Enticing as it may seem, you're risking inhaling water, rupturing your lungs and the sort in that environment. Surely you'd wanna take a dip before splurging cash on something you may not be able to do rite? I mean, test drive the car before buying rite?
*
well damn.. thats just u know.. scarier.. furthermore, you know what you are talking about and qualified.. damn..

Look at these people doing advance. I suspect the guy need a refresher. He is positive buoyant at the beginning, then negative all they way down and getting tired. You can still die of drowning several days later if your lungs fill with water.. always need to go hospital to check I guess.

well i did have some looooooong deep considerations about that part, but my commitment began the moment i was nose deep *pun intended* into the research and homework done,i dont wanna bore you but this habit carried on from my studying days although..hint hint im still studying laugh.gif laugh.gif that if i made the commitment to research something i will see it till the end or get it done, thats why i said i dont want to compare with people since we are from all walks of life right smile.gif ?

although please dont abuse your age and experiences on me laugh.gif

Yea could see that they were not comfortable in the water and some seems a little over weight since they needed to fin to ascend plus knocking to the bottom.
This is why experience comes into play, knowing what to do and keeping calm is the main thing.

I went to Phuket in April end of Songkran. The waves were kerayzzzyyyyyy. The ferry to get to the island tossed up. I sat at the back can see the front of ship go high.. Diving currents were varied.. I had worst currents and diving elsewhere. But diving is an experience there. Surface interval in the lagoon with the top 5 beach in the world having phad thai.. and fruits and coke.. Jump off the boat go nuts.

LOL dammit, it's a luck thing huh. Those are some scary waves! I read some blogs / TripAdvisor reviews and it stated that April is end of dry season and May is when the rainy season starts, so Apr still ok to dive. Hehe your description of the SI will be something I'm gonna look forward to! tongue.gif

Here's some of my photos from Koh Lanta. During my stay there, the beaches were generally quiet, which is great if you're bringing a family or a partner there.

The shorter time that you are at a destination, the more that luck is involved in getting good weather smile.gif

Whether you are taking a course or doing fun dive with a guide, always proceed with a reasonable doubt. Some instructor/DM have no concern for safety and do whatever it takes for better tip or whatever reason they may have. Eg. taking you beyond your training capability or diving at a dangerous dive site.

That video clearly shows its the inexperience of the instructor. Having giving the students too much weight and performing a negative entry. By right, it's not advisable to take a panic diver up to the surface so fast unless its a life threatening situation. He needs to calm down the panic diver before proceeding to ascend. If instructor didnt caught the diver's fin and prevent him from bolting up, it might cause AGE.
