I guess just google up and you'll be able to find plenty of dive centers that will pick you up from Ubud.

They have diving insurance coverage?
*
Yes. They cover leisure diving. But if you want proper diving insurance, go with DAN.

Generally December is good for the Andaman side of the Thai.

There are always sites that cater for all level of divers, importantly is spelling out your noob to the dive leader or during your inquiry..

How noob are you? Sometimes the price/site ratio is just not worth it if you're a beginner diver. Go rake up more dives before splurging on more expensive places. laugh.gif

I would suggest doing Koh Lipe instead of Phuket side or Similian islands as the nicer sites are better visited when you're AOW and better buoyancy.

As I know, Oct is off season at Lipe and may not have any dive centre opened for business. They usually close around July and open for business mid Nov early Dec. Do check before heading there.

Good to know. Lipe has some amazing formation of soft corals, but lack of marine life based on my last visit.

I've been to Lipe in July, and parked at Pak Barra. Many private car parks like Mersing jetty as well, and they take motorbike to send you back to jetty as it's slightly far to walk. Forgot price. Stayed Bundhaya and dived with Ocean Pro Diver. Canadian chap named Dave and wife is Thai. Vis ain't great though. Walking Street is 80% close with some open only. Fairly slow nights but if you go with friends and enjoy with friends, it's OK. Basically DIY kinda fun. Sept/Oct should be beginning of high season, so Walk Street should be 80% open
