1 question even though this thread is quite outdated. i had to change my tyres all 4 pieces to potenza re003 Thailand made with a price of rm320 per piece . the shop is somewhere in sungai petani. what can i say is the price is too low compared to what i have been researched for previous months. any possibilities of fake tires?

QUOTE(serez @ Sep 17 2017, 01:26 PM) RE003 size 215/45/17 is already cheap between 300-350 only. See example below:http://www.mudah.my/Tayar+baru+2154517+bri...03-55774718.htm Those who offered you 400-500 were trying to rip you off! |

See example below: thanks for the enlightment. i'm aware of that now http://www.mudah.my/Tayar+baru+2154517+bri...03-55774718.htm Those who offered you 400-500 were trying to rip you off! i dont know whether the tyre origin will reflect the price or not. eg some tokey offered me with so called japan re003 (forgot the size) with the price of rm500+ while i can get wayy cheaper thai made re003 |

QUOTE(serez @ Sep 20 2017, 03:33 PM) thanks for the enlightment. i'm aware of that now No need to buy Japan made one la, it's still about the same. Even if different it won't warrant such big price difference. I don't think this tire is available in Japan too. Japan made Potenza is usually the S001 which is expensive.i dont know whether the tyre origin will reflect the price or not. eg some tokey offered me with so called japan re003 (forgot the size) with the price of rm500+ while i can get wayy cheaper thai made re003 |

So it should be brand > country manufactured. Agreed?

QUOTE(1tanmee @ Aug 13 2018, 10:12 AM) agree.but as long it is the brand is original, the country manufactured doesnt matter.for example compare pirelli china to landsail/lionsport china or corsa indonesia sure pirelli is better although those china pirelli are not top range tyres. |

But the argument would be... the work ethic and adhering to standards is more prevalent to those europeans, whereas asians are more inclined to cut corners. This holds water?for example compare pirelli china to landsail/lionsport china or corsa indonesia sure pirelli is better although those china pirelli are not top range tyres. |

This holds water? Even so, the difference should not be too much because they still have to hold a certain std for the brand and the model manufactured. So maybe PS4 made in Thailand might be slightly lesser than PS4 made in Europe but it's still a PS4 that would be superior to Bridgestone S001 made in Japan or Continental CPC5 made in Europe for example. So the brand and model is far more important than the manufacturing country. In fact when I'm buying tires, I almost never pay attention to where they're made! I've used GY F1D5 made in China before and they perform well as expected. I've used Potenza made in Indonesia too and they also performed well as expected. Now if you have a choice between PS4 made in Thailand vs PS4 made in France for example but the one made in France is 25-30% more expensive just because of that, which one would you buy? For me it's a no brainer, I'd buy the cheaper Thailand made PS4 because the difference in quality or performance would not warrant such price difference.
