I'm having Android Auto issue, so far not many poeple here mentioned. My AA don't work, car HU indicates no USB connected. A very long post ago, one of our forum member mentioned restarting car HU by holding the start button, it does work after restart, but when i disconnect the USB then it will not work anymore until the next HU hard reset.

Anyone that having no issue or what so ever with AA mind share what phone are u using?

*HU = head unit a.k.a touch screen
*
That was me. I had on and off problems with it. But now ok once I set up and use it properly.

Did you manage to use it the first time?

Use it for few times, but whenever i want to use i have to hard reset the HU, even i connect the USB prior to ignition won't work either.
I did exit the app using the head unit before i stop the car.

You don't have any issue like this? What phone are u using for AA?
*
I had lots of issues. So I really had to learn and adjust to set it up properly. I even had to format my phone 2x

I use a Sony Xperia z5.

Here's what you can try:
1. Go to HU settings into android auto settings and enable your device. Chances are, your device was disabled.

If that doesn't work

1. Delete and reinstall android auto on your device
2. Delete your device from the android auto settings
3. Restart your phone
4. Restart head unit
5 connect and try

Worst case, do all above but reformat your phone instead.

After I did that everything seems to work perfectly fine now.

I installed the apk file in my phone but once completed it says application not installed. Mind to share how you installed AA?  biggrin.gif

You installed the wrong version. The latest AA apk may not be suitable for your phones architecture. There is the older x86 and newer arm64 bits versions. If you are using the new snapdragon processors then u will need to download the arm64 version instead. It will install successfully when u get the right version

Thanks for that precious information, at least we know out there AA does work properly. To many variables causes the AA doesn't work, it could been anything from USB cable to Android version.

I'm using mi note 3, was about to flash my phone luckily i found out it doesn't work even after flashing. I'm seriously considering buying a vanilla android nexus phone.

By the way, did u managed to use AA voice search/command? My AA doesn't work like how we can use Google Now, suppose we can sent whatsapp messages through speaking with the car.
*
Yeah it works. Firstly u gotta approve all the permissions. Set up Google map etc. When done, u need to long hold the mic button on your steering for it to trigger Google now then u can say stuff like... Navigate home or call whoever.

When someone sends u a text via whatsapp u can also reply to that vocally. It will work

A short press on mic button on steering will always trigger the Honda speed Dail as priority

i have nexus 5 taking dust and thinking to put into car permanently but quite worry with the safety too
*
I did that. I placed my old note 4 in the car but stopped as its pointless.

Google needs Internet to function.

Besides, AA also benefits from being able to take calls. Somehow when u plug in the spare phone, the Bluetooth is disabled. So its only useful if you have something like multi sim which also has limitations, which u can use it for outbound calls only.

Guys, I'm fast approaching my 1k service interval.

Anyone else brought up the right side dashboard rattling?
A bit afraid to be the first TBH - don't want some hot-shot wannabe mechanic taking apart my entire dash for his first time explorative surgery

Turbo owners, anything we should be concerned of?
*
Nothing to worry la brother.

So far, I really start putting some kmh into the car, never crossed the mid mark.
Love the fact that I can hit 160 without touching 3000 rpm

Only complaint is that the FC..... really far from advertised.
Maybe i got lead foot.

Doing 160 and expect us to believe you are light footed?

But i really tried to be light footed. Its just... too damn easy to go fast in this car without realising it.

Guys, done my first service and rattling sound on uneven road fixed. I remember someone also having the same problem and it can be easily fix. Service advisor told that it is because some cover under the sterling area lossen. Just tighthen it. Now ok dy but can last how long not really sure. Just keep monitoring.
*
ok cool! thanks for the update! thats such a huge relief!

what did they do for your first service?

also, how long did you have to make an appointment? My car is now at 800kms - if i do this weekend, i wont hit 1000, but if next week, should hit 1200kms

TS, I think its a good time to also start a defects log? Keep track of common issues and resolution for existing and new buyers to look out for
