budget doesn't allow to buy hardware yet.    as for 4K or UHD tv, will only be interested once price drop realistically like what LED became after a few years of its introduction. now got OLED somemore.... hummph 

how about you bro, have you upgraded to 4K... or still collecting cheap software first, then only think about hardware later on... 

IMO normal Blu-ray upscale is crazy clear like 4K. I only have 43" 4K TV, in biggest size may different.

Same title only worth upgrade to 4K for it HDR format. Some title is fake 4K, it will said upscaling in www.blu-ray.com

4K HDR is possible and Netflix is doing it.

Dolby Atmos and DTS-X not many have such setup I believe.

Service is the trend now and possible future.

Certain movie/video for keep, I still prefer physical but for others one short watch I prefer digitize format.

i have this feeling speedy is closing down too... one outlet is having sale of up to 70%!! never in my recent life around speedy video (this goes back to 1997 when dvd was first introduced and i made frequent visits to speedy for new titles) that they are having a storewide sale, let alone this crazy sale...!!

Speedy Video at Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang Jaya has closed down. I'm not surprised that more outlets will follow the same footstep... oh well 

bro, have you bought any blu-rays from Speedy or other local retailers before? so far i only bought once (just to check it out what local/asian manufactured blu-rays are when i first adapted to HD about 10-11 years ago) – that was 'avatar' steelbook version from Video Ezy. i've never bought any since.... only bought blu-rays from Amazon. i could've made a big haul from Speedy's RM10 or 20 sale!!

not really... only the "1 for RM10" blu-ray but those are mostly not so popular titles. 

No body support ori anymore

Although I rarely buy locally but I have at least 300 ori BD.

nobody support pirate stuff anymore also... most of my neighbourhood "durian" sellers have closed down business – people either streamed contents or download themselves nowadays    although my household has two netflix accounts, nothing beats the ori physical media when it comes to movies – picture & audio quality, additional contents etc – unbeatable IMO

yup true, it has 4K too, but the problem is... this is beautiful malaysia, our internet speed here although claimed to be the broadest of the bands, it is not the US... picture quality fluctuates when bitrate drops etc  and does interfere with our viewing pleasure at times, at least here in my area 

yup, looks like we have to go with the flow sooner if not later... with the tech 

i guess nowadays we like everything simplified in our lives – for good or bad. we used to glorify 5.1 separates home theatre system; receiver, subwoofer, with surround speakers bla bla... now we have soundbar and all-in-one

btw, just want to share this weird thing happened to me. being a cheapskate as i am, i only buy blu-rays towards the end of the year when the Black Friday is around the corner! so no purchases during the rest of the year.... but late last month, out of the blue, i received some refunds (around USD2+) credited into my credit card from amazon.com! when i checked in the email, it mentioned "refund – export fee reduced" from my last order way back from last november! does anyone else here experienced this same thing from amazon?

not that i complained, but if want to refund... much2 more than USD2 la...

oh, that's a shame.... i think they know it's immenent, physical is dying. but i still prefer physical over streaming and all that.

but hey, who needs speedy video when we can buy from online retailers which is way cheaper. price was a factor too for physicals selling in m'sia (unless the selective discounted titles offered by speedy recently). if we compare side-by-side the price of a normal movie ticket; in m'sia about RM15-18... and so does in the States USD15-16 ish, so it is close. so why the-f when a blu-ray in the US is selling between USD15-25, in m'sia price difference is like sky high at around RM79.00-100.00++???
