i don't mean the physical disc itself.it more like the production from content of the BD (subtitles, audio, video) to the packaging, all done locally

QUOTE(raylight2free @ Jul 31 2017, 11:18 AM) I noticed that some titles with HVN logo behind are local printed version from speedy! And the printing quality is not so good! I wonder the VQ & AQ is the same as imported one? It all depends on the mastering actually. Our local prints usually follows the mastered version from US (same region A). There are various exceptions of course. An example comparison: I have both Mad Max Fury Road HVN version and a Mad Max FR Black and Chrome Edition that I ordered from Amazon. The B&C edition has 2 discs, one is the normal colored version and the other is the black and white version. On the normal colored version disc, the PQ and AQ is IDENTICAL to the HVN version sold in Speedy. I verified this as I tried to remux both discs for digital storage, but BOTH discs has the EXACT same time code error at 42:21 and 1:15:21. There are still quite a few exceptions to this though. Now a days (in the last 2 years at least), the differences are almost nil. But pre-2014ish, there exists quite a few movies that are HVN printed but their quality on the video encode side is lack luster. Unfortunately there is no actual list for this as the differences aren't very significant, not enough for people to go out and do A/B comparisons for each movie at least. |

Although I still prefer Amazon with some nice lenticular slipcover. At least, I can grab some Speedy version at a cheaper price without hesitation now. Thanks for sharing too! |

Hi guys,
Sorry for asking a noob question. 3 years back i bought a BDP-S1500 from Australia and some blu-ray as well ( couldn't resist the End of Financial Year sales). I stopped using it and gave the player to my friend as I thought PS4 can be a substitute. In the end I sold the PS4 away as I underutilize it. So my main concern is: I wish to buy the same model player as it linked to my Sony tv which I can use under the same TV remote but I'm worried of the Region Locked thingy as Australia device is under Region B yet Malaysia is under Region A. I do have Japan region Blu-ray as well. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Speedy in Cheras Leisuremall is having a relocation sale. Ori Blurays are going at RM55 for 2 titles, cash only. Not many titles but you may find some that are worth buying at this price. Sale is on until 27 August. Being a cheapskate, I picked up Homeland Season 1 (3 discs) and Bible Miniseries (4 discs). That's 7 discs for RM55 or less than RM8 per disc! Alas, not many multidisc titles but even single disc titles are still worth it if you can find what you want. You can reach Cheras Leuisuremall by taking the MRT and stopping at Taman Mutiara. Happy hunting!
