QUOTE(raylight2free @ Jul 31 2017, 11:18 AM) I noticed that some titles with HVN logo behind are local printed version from speedy! And the printing quality is not so good! I wonder the VQ & AQ is the same as imported one? It all depends on the mastering actually. Our local prints usually follows the mastered version from US (same region A). There are various exceptions of course. An example comparison: I have both Mad Max Fury Road HVN version and a Mad Max FR Black and Chrome Edition that I ordered from Amazon. The B&C edition has 2 discs, one is the normal colored version and the other is the black and white version. On the normal colored version disc, the PQ and AQ is IDENTICAL to the HVN version sold in Speedy. I verified this as I tried to remux both discs for digital storage, but BOTH discs has the EXACT same time code error at 42:21 and 1:15:21. There are still quite a few exceptions to this though. Now a days (in the last 2 years at least), the differences are almost nil. But pre-2014ish, there exists quite a few movies that are HVN printed but their quality on the video encode side is lack luster. Unfortunately there is no actual list for this as the differences aren't very significant, not enough for people to go out and do A/B comparisons for each movie at least. |

QUOTE(raylight2free @ Aug 22 2017, 07:33 PM) I don't have Oppo but Sony players! One Region A and the other Region B! Oh.... can Sony players be jailbreaked? What format do you remux it to? I just move all my Blu-Ray discs into an mkv container, no re-encoding done. Nothing touched, except for removing the "behind the scenes and extras" stuff, they are pointless to me. Saves me a few GB, which over a span of a few dozen movies does mean quite a lot of space. Also makes playing movies sooooooooo much faster, double click on a movie and start watching. Don't need to go through countless stupid menus, piracy warnings, this that blah... oh god. For UHD discs, it's a little more complicated right now. Cracking AACS 2.0 aside, remuxing a movie doesn't really save all that much more space - it also, for now takes quite a lot time to do unless I upgrade my CPU (something I'm not planning to until 2018 at the least). Will just be a matter of when remuxing UHD discs to be a viable process though, not long from now really - just need AACS 2.0 to be fully cracked. inb4 someone say: get out no piracy here. No this is not piracy, this is to make a digital copy of your OWN disc, for your OWN leisure only. Don't try and be a saint. |

QUOTE(raylight2free @ Aug 22 2017, 09:12 PM) Haha.....no, I didn't jailbreaked my Sony. Don't think it's possible. I got one from local for Region A disc and another from UK for Region B disc. Total 12 TB and counting. Never remux before coz my PC is slower than me. You must have a lot of external hard disk as one movie size could be around 40gb or more?! And even more for UHD! Should have bought more before GST was introduced. HDDs back then was damn cheap. |

To those who are looking to buy Spiderman Homecoming, my suggestion is simply not to buy it because of Sony's shitty practices of purposefully gimping the 1080p release vs the 4k release.
For those that don't know, the 1080p disc DOES NOT feature the Dolby Atmos track from the 4k disc. But what's really insulting is that the 1080p's track is mastered in DTSHD 5.1, 16 bit and has its dynamic range normalized in the low end. If you simply must have Spiderman Homecoming, get the 4k version even if you don't have a 4k TV. The difference between the Atmos and gimped DTSHD 5.1 track is SIGNIFICANT. I'm talking differences where dialogue is contoured to being -4db lower than effects and the 40hz and under region having a flatline frequency response with no dynamics. So EVEN if you only have a 5.1 setup, the Atmos track is already leaps better than the DTSHD 5.1 track! Fuck Sony. |

Interstellar UHD up for pre-order
Too bad it won't have an Atmos/DTSX track. This is typical of Warner Bros and I thought they'd at least make one of those rare exceptions (like Blade Runner and Harry Potter) to include an Atmos/DTSX track... but, NOOOO. |

I know it's a little off topic, but then again... not really?
Blade Runner 2049 could potentially be the deepest sounding movie of 2017. I mean just listen to the OST - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLh4E...TElZQ-XJoUiBdmb Particularly Track 13 and 17. It's like Tron all over again. Sadly no commercial cinema hall in Malaysia has the correct sub tuning to present the 10-12hz impulses. The Blu-Ray is out early January apparently, can't wait! QUOTE(iGamer @ Jan 9 2018, 04:45 PM) As long as they actually "sell you the content", it's okay. Your life is on loan just like a service.Nowadays the greedy businesses are moving towards "selling you the service", like in digital games consumer are buying the services, one day the game server can be shut down and the consumer will not be able to consume what they thought they have bought and owned. Nowadays songs are also sold as a service thru the like of Spotify if I'm not mistaken. Nothing is permanent. |

Speaking of Plex, it's actually quite limited in functionality. Simple to use sure, but ultimately not feature rich enough.
Personally I'm using Media Hoarder, a new app for Windows (only at the moment). Way more powerful and ability to use your own custom player (instead of being forced to use ExoPlayer like Plex). https://media.hoarder.software/ |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 26 2022, 09:06 PM) Plex beside cannot use 3rd party player, I don't see Media Hoarder which part is better. Too basic interface where cannot even display as thumbnail view. Seems cannot edit cover, background, content information as well. All info of media can be customized just like Plex. Also no support of any TV apps, TV Box apps. It is way too basic to be honest. Even the website is way too blank and waste my time watching the so call more features in details YouTube where keep showing the sorting/filter feature only which all others player is capable as well. This player is far away than features. It need more time to polish and put more effort in the development. Even Emby or Jellyfin is far better than this. As for Apple wise, they is another great video player - Infuse. Emby - https://emby.media/ Jellyfin - https://jellyfin.org/ Infuse - https://firecore.com/infuse Plex - https://www.plex.tv/ We are still developing the app. We just launched it... yesterday lol. It's open source btw, you're free to mod it however you like. |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Sep 26 2022, 09:55 PM) So this is your develop apps. lol It's not mine exactly. It's a friend's one, I'm just helping out.I will try out when it is getting better with basic feature, at least can show thumbnail view and support TV apps, at least have Google TV apps or Apple 4K TV apps. All the best and hope to see better version in future. I didn't touch programming too long, can't mod anymore. 😅 Everything you mentioned is already in development (or in final testing phase). ayeayecaptain and Andrewtst liked this post
