Yes. This is true for certain firmwares.

We have to use SIM1 to get connected to Band 38 or 40. That's why YES has the list of supported "dual-SIM" phones.

Hence, my LeMoto P2 can only connect to YES when use SIM 1 but not in SIM 2...but P2 is officially not in YES supported phones...but still can get connected in SIM1 only...

So, my hypothesis is that your R4P only supports YES Band 38 / 40 in SIM 1 only because R4P is not "officially" under YES supported device...

my ZTE Axon 7 support the band 38 & 40 but when I put the prepaid sim card on the phone got no signal at all.

How is this happening? does yes 4g block certain phone from using the service?

If any mobile phone connect to Yes without turning on VoLTE, you will be booted out from the network. This is what the network engineer in Yes told me.

Just need VoLTE to be on. Don't need it to work.
My oneplus 3 a3000 don't support YES VoLTE, but it is working with VoLTE force on.

As long as it comes with band 38/40 support and also VoLTE, it's fine.

I must say that Volte on Yes is awesome! And connection is so far so good now. Even I can say it is way better than Celcom and umobile that I had before. The signal that's available for YES is only LTE, no 3G whatsoever so minimum speed I'm getting is 10mbps at least. So far I'm satisfied.

Tried it on MRT too. Most of the time got reception underground. But one of flaws for yes is indoor coverage, sometimes it drops to 1 bar but still usable with 5mbps speed.

Volte is also awesome. Calls connected much faster and clearer. Yes reception always full bar LTE outdoor. Very good for now.

My experience with yes lte was bad. The coverage very unstable many places I been no line. Underground mostly no line and this is when I have previously use maxis.

Now yes lte I use as a back up SIM. Main totally unreliable and yes only work on 4g. No 4g no line

Which underground you are referring to? I just tested Yes on MRT SBK line yesterday, the underground antenna was up and I get excellent signal reception underground.

This not my first line like you. I have 3 lines  maxis, umobile and yes lte + yes broadband.  The whole Malaysia underground does not only consist in MRT buddy. Travel more and you will see how well the yes lte coverage.

totally agree
even at open space industrial zone
YES LTE also barely got signal

Agree that YES LTE is not useful as your only data plan. Need dual sim phone with backup data to cover for times when you are out of coverage.

Using YES since it has tons of data, and supplement with XOX. 500MB permonth for RM2.50, which is cheap AF, and 28 months validity biggrin.gif. Pretty good to be used as backup. Kinda troublesome to make the switch no doubt, but RM30 for 20GB is a very good deal.

If I register new SIM and then reload RM30 the first time, will I get the bonus RM30 extra immediately? Cause I read in a blog that said bonus is for the second time reload. rclxub.gif

There are some people sells yes id. Pay one time and auto renew monthly.
The downside is the id are not from yes officially. So, there is no guarantee it can be use for how long. Yes will block the id when they found out someone misuse it.
For me it's worth it.
