Yesterday, I finally went and got my front lower arms bushes changed, the old ones were completely worn out... Upgraded to SuperPro PU bushes... The handling of the car is now much more taut and the steering feels much more better now...

QUOTE(JimboXE @ Dec 15 2009, 01:51 PM) Oh, sorry, mate, the PU bushes are oredi installed into the lower arms, can't really see it now... But next time when I get a chance to take out the front wheels, I'll try to take pics of them...The price is quite steep but worth it... Total damage was RM640... Just the bushes alone... Bought them from Hokomoto Racing in Batu Caves... This post has been edited by Vanquish: Dec 15 2009, 02:28 PM |

QUOTE(JimboXE @ Dec 15 2009, 05:58 PM) Damn! So expensive ah.....! Yeah, it's very expensive but they will last a very long time... A friend of mine who used these PU bushes on his Wira told me they lasted him 200,000KM... Which I think is exceptionally good...From the sound of it, d bushes should be from Japan ler.....right? No, they are not from Japan, they are made in Australia, from a company called Fulcrum Suspension... |

QUOTE(JimboXE @ Dec 16 2009, 10:59 AM) Wooo! 200,000 km! I checked the SuperPro 2009 catalogue at Hokomoto Racing that day and yup, it's available for the B11...I wonder if it can fit my B11 Anyways...I ight be replacing d ol Goodyear NCT 5 tire on my N16... What do u reckon ah? You mean you're planning to change to a set of new Goodyear NCT5 tyres? Maybe you can give the new Goodyear Assurance tyres a try, it performs much better than the NCT5... |

QUOTE(JimboXE @ Dec 17 2009, 10:32 AM) I'll try 2 get 1 of this SuperPro bushes.... Goodyear Assurance is pretty good, but if you want another brand, then you can give Yokohama a try, their A.drive series are pretty quiet, I used to use the A.drive R1, quiet tyres but wet traction is not as good as I hoped it would be... But you can't expect much wet traction from these kind of "comfort" tyres...Actually, I'm using NCT5 currently, but not very satisfied with the thread noise.....plus it will b due soon. Any other brand that u would reckon, bro? I've changed to a new set of Yokohama S.drive tyres recently, the S.drive is an ultra high performance tyre, which fits my criteria very well... QUOTE(paulcj @ Dec 22 2009, 04:28 PM) need help, my car still jerking after change of Your car is not the N16, is it? Becoz the N16 is distributorless.-overhaul -electric distributor -oil tank fuel pump why? sometime when driving, feel like something pull down the power even i step more on accelerate and when i release, engine died off and very hard to start it back, have to step down accelerater till end and turn ignition key and hold 30 second more, repeatly 4-5 time only start it back. please help! I think your problem is caused by a dirty/faulty throttle body, get it cleaned or worse comes to worse, have it replaced. |

QUOTE(paulcj @ Dec 23 2009, 02:02 PM) im driving b14 ga16de Ah, no wonder, next time make sure you mention what model and engine you're driving... already burn a big hole in my pocket, keep changing parts but result still the same. no money to sent back TCSC.......... There's no point in bringing ur B14 back to TCSC, it's a total waste of money... Find a reliable and knowledgeable mechanic, get your engine's throttle body checked and clean it if necessary... |

QUOTE(allankoh007 @ Dec 24 2009, 05:52 PM) Bro, I am using Denso Iridium plugs on my SR16VE now...Thank you for your reply to me. I read through that, by the way have try to Denso Iridium Plug for your car . Perhaps, better fuel consumption can achieve. At least, it really works on mine N16 1.8 XG-L. By the way if B14 modding to SR20DET is over spect and illegal since hardly to get approval from JPJ. Upgrade to from existing engine capacity to maximum allow is only 25% only. Correct me if i'm wrong. Lately, seldom see ya around reporting to this forum, end year holiday liow ? Anyway, good to see you again. Who said upgrading to SR20DET in a B14 is illegal? Upgrading from 1.6L engine to 2.0L engine is still permissible... QUOTE(anderson_god @ Dec 24 2009, 07:35 PM) anyone done aftermarket exhaust for N16 QG16DE??? The VTC in the QG16DE does not have an aggressive high cam profile, so you won't feel any kind of "sudden power surge"...i still feel my engine revving but the car rpm just 3-4k i can feel the vtc running but didn't feel any power gain.... just changed to k&n filter , improvement on pickup for few percent . QUOTE(blackburn89 @ Dec 26 2009, 06:47 PM) Don't bother with Nissan's coolant, use Toyota's Long Life Coolant, I'm using it in my B14 and it's running very well... But please make sure you only use 50% of the bottle, do NOT pour the entire bottle into the cooling system... For older engines, use only about 30% to a maximum of 40%... |

Well, i have no idea....... Oh ya ka... That's strange...QUOTE(glikzxc @ Jan 2 2010, 07:15 PM) Hi... I'm a new nissan sentra owner... Hi, welcome to the club... Nice to meet you all;) Juz bought a second hand sentra year 2001 XE. It's a nice car... BTW, felt a bit underpower bout the pick up... Got any others way to overcome this problem other than change the plug? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Please give some guides...thx;) Depends on your car's mileage, if it's below 80K, you can still use fully synthetic oil, but above 80K, use semi-synthetic or mineral (mineral oil must change every 5,000km)... Motul is very good, the other brand that is very suitable for Nissan is Idemitsu... QUOTE(paulcj @ Jan 3 2010, 01:30 PM) b14 ga16de owner here. Sounds like your gearbox needs an oil change...did u guys have this problem in ur car? cruising around with 2k rpm 2nd gear cant drive smooth. when let go acceralater sudden, car feel like something pull from behind. i dont even have to break and it stop very fast! accelate again car jerk. i suspect my gear box match with 1.5 since i brought it 2nd hand. by the way, my rpm on 2.8k when cruising 100km/h and 3.3k on 120km/h QUOTE(n_chun21 @ Jan 3 2010, 06:55 PM) good news for all the nissan owner ... i just revcut my car ecu to 8800rpm.. very nice and smooth. that people help me setting for my car when 4000rpm can feel the diffrent no need additional for emanage or safc. but foor more better response can used emanage. 8,800RPM... QUOTE(joanalooidog @ Jan 4 2010, 12:38 AM) sifu all, Yup, sounds like your throttle body's dirty or probably needs repair...Mine is '97 B14 Anyone experience high rpm (around 1500 -1800 rpm) during idling? Mine happens quite often now. It suka-suka happens after driving for certain distance and shift from "D" to "N". The engine just revs high and wont come down. WHen i put to "D", can feel the car is trying to move forward. All i need to do is off the car for few seconds and start the engine, then the idle rpm will back to normal? SO any advise on that? TB dirty? Added on January 4, 2010, 9:37 am QUOTE(allankoh007 @ Jan 4 2010, 09:29 AM) Yes, Nissan engine always recommended use higher vicosity oil to ensure the timing chain and engine parts long last. Semi synthetic is good for every 5,000km changing interval. That's quite a misleading statement... Semi-synth oil do not need to be changed every 5,000km... It can go up to 8,000km and it will still be good...This post has been edited by Vanquish: Jan 4 2010, 09:37 AM |

QUOTE(sackeen @ Jan 6 2010, 11:04 PM) the n16 has the antenna pop out and retract in. mine got stuck out and would get back in, any one facing the same problem? where to get it fix? There's no way to get it fixed... You'll have to get it replaced with a new one... You can either go for those fixed antenna, which is cheaper or you can go for the same retractable antenna that you have now...My retractable antenna on my B14 is also stuck now, I'm going to get it replaced with a fixed one... |
