Beause actually Nissan Sentra N16 in China & Japan, they using QR20DE engine, even in US, they also using QR20DE. I have asked my friend who is a mechanic, he said QR20DE can fit inside N16 and no need to modify anything, just change the engine and gearbox, that's all. And I have found a X-trail half cut with QR20DE and 6 speed manual, so thinking to transplant it to my N16. But the problem is whether JPJ will give approval or not.
*
I see... Yeah, the Sentra in the US does use the QR20DE as one of its engine range... You found a very decent X-Trail halfcut, with 6-speed manual tranny some more! thumbup.gif

Ask your mechanic, he should know if JPJ allow a 1.6 to 2.0 transplant or not...

Vanquish : is every car have reserve tank ar? sorry for noob question tongue.gif i'm asking due to my fren is saying about this topic. Hes driving Wira and he said his fren have a so call 'back-up radiator' which also known as dual layer. In case the main radiator leak, the back up comes into play. I never heard of such thing b4 this. Is what u saying equal to what he said? i guess not right? coz as i know our radiator is barely standalone.
*
Bro, every car has a reserve coolant tank (or some people call it "spare tank"), look inside ur N16's engine bay beside the radiator, you will see one plastic container (beside the windshield washer container) with water or coolant inside.

I've also never heard of a "back-up radiator", did his fren mistaken the air-cond radiator as the "back-up radiator"?

hi Vanquish : Oh ic yea i know of that reserve tank. Arent that tank is connected to our radiator and it shows the coolant level? the terms reserve makes me think of backups hahaha paiseh...
yeah man i also felt wierd of such thing. My fren hes not a car enthu. I will ask him in details when i met him.
*
Yeah, the coolant reserve tank is connected to the radiator through a rubber hose... The reserve tank's purpose is to "replenish" coolant to the radiator whenever the radiator loses its coolant over time through evaporation... It was never meant to be a "back-up"...

It's N16, there is no B16... Your N16's 3rd brake light is located at speaker board behind the rear seats, right?

will thoose aftermarket suspension do nice? like GAB or APM

Lot101 is not talking about a track setup, he just meant that what Mike Kojima did to the rear multi-link beam suspension of the B14 improves the handling a lot, and the handling improvement shows a lot when Mike tested it on a track...

B14, i think Vanquish bro will be able to help you because i`m not really sure of B14's stock size. Theres info on the net but i`m not sure which is Malaysian version tho. As a rule of thumb, your wheel overall diameter cannot be 3% bigger or smaller than stock in order to left ur speedo alone.
*
In M'sia, the B14's stock tyre size is 185/60/R14, while in other countries like Japan and the USA, their B14's stock tyre size is 185/65/R14, and this only applies to the 1.6L variant...

no..the problem is when you put the engine in, then what gearbox you hav to put in to match wit the engine? totally different design of the gear box if you really want to install perfectly wit the engine...we hav tested the gearbox and the engine for firing test before we install on the new chassis body, it is becoz not every engine totally same wit other althought they are same model, so we hav to make sure everythings is good and meet the japan spec or requirement...i hav full details of assembly manual and operating sheet of whole n16 from japan...

Dude, can you do me a huge favor? Can you check if there's a copy of the JN15 Pulsar VZ-R workshop manual lying around your workplace? Thanks!

I had problem with N16 headlight beam.. The beam is not bright enough.. Izit need a pair of foglight?
*
Is it becoz the surface of ur headlamp had turned yellowish? Installing foglights won't help much as the beam from the foglights has a wide spread and not straight... Besides, using foglights during a normal weather night is annoying to other drivers...

QUOTE(ananth77 @ May 22 2009, 08:31 AM)
singchaii .. i am having the same issue too ... since no one else has mentioned about it ... i thought it was oni me ... sad.gif Could this be cause by the yellow residue on the light itself or something has to be done? I check at a accessories shop nearby and they said that is the reason and also adviced me to get it cleaned... it will cost RM45 per light sad.gif
*
The yellow residue is inside ur headlamps or outside?

Vanquish.. it is outside... do you think it is worth it to let the accessories shop to clean it or i should just buy the liquid myself .. i saw in Mudah.com.my they're selling for RM 40 or something nie .. but is it a lot of work?
*
Well, you can actually DIY... But U need to be very, very careful when U do it...

Buy a bottle of DOT3 Brake Fluid, then apply some fluid onto a clean cloth, then rub it on ur headlamp in a circular motion until it is clear, but make sure that the brake fluid DO NOT drip onto ur car's paintjob (the brake fluid is acidic, it will ruin ur car's paint)...

This is totally at ur own risk, do not try it if u don't have the confidence...

Anyhow, I think RM40 to let someone do it is quite alright... nod.gif
