How many unit a month they intend to sell? 2000? - can make profit? Oh wait profit not important because gamen will bail out with TONGKAT 5000? - can sell that many units? Ask the other manufacturers to tie their hands behind their backs hahahaha
But seriously, plotong fanboys has zero knowledge about economics

They say hope 3000 units by end this year. Hmmm....... I am seriously thinking of them padding the numbers if the target is not reached. Investors will rage. Gov no comment even though they buy in.

Honda Accord 2.4 Rm 178k Proton Perdana 2.4 Rm 138k.
Difference Rm 40K.
Moneywise choosing perdana is much wiser than honda accord. This is because like how Inspira did to the Mitsubishi Lancer. After the inspira otr nobody care much about the lancer uniqueness and the value of the lancer went down tremendously. The accord will be the same as the lancer.
For the first handvalue, in my opinion i would be choosing perdana 2.4 and save 40k while getting the same engine , chassis, and the safety of the 178k Accord.

1: Honda Handling is good... just that Proton has its own lotus character... too bad... but as Honda driver here the handling is better than so called floaty god car 2: I hate CVT.... it is one piece of stupid gearbox that take away the fun of driving, the feel, and add a little fuel economy with alot of vibration, jerking and RUBBER BAND FEEL YUCK!!! 3: Yeah only blade key... haihhhhhhhhhhhh 4: 100K for a D segment car is actually cheap!!! really.....
also look at it the engine is a Honda powertrain, you know it is solid engine, the 2.0 is R series, used in New Civic, HRV and 2.0 current accord Earthdream. it is very good engine...
on the 2.4 it is a tried and tested workhorse K series Honda Engine... K24z which is one heck solid engine!
I guess it would need to be same chassis if not same chassis then it could not be considered as rebadge.
If proton build the body and chassis then it will be consider as original proton design but using accord engine.
If proton design the body and chassis then i would check on the car crash test rating. Will it get 5 star or lower star safety rating.
All Honda cars are 5 star NCAP/ACAP/NTSHA since 2000 (check your facts)
So since this Perdana is based on the previous Gen accord, it is a 5 star NCAP rating car with GCON crash tested design chasis, Basically crash tested by Honda Real World Crash Test Facility which surpass every NCAP out there...
Yes it is normal to rebadge... Even Mercedes rebadge Hilux pickup truck... so Mercedes is as bad as proton???
Fiat Rebadge Mazda MX5....
Renault Fluence is basically a Nissan Silphy...
not to mention BRZ and Toyota
In this world rebadge is common to save cost... and maximize mass production capacity....

Got big difference in rebadging and platform sharing. Dun be mistaken.
this model utk orang tua laaa. kita orang muda mana minat.kalau exwcutive atau director pakai ok la.
Their target buyer also somewhere there la. The previous gen Perdana aka Mitsubishi Galant (Eterna) last time also young ppl dun want to buy. Until people start to mod and the car gets way cheap it is the budget choice of youngsters. Nowdays can see quite a lot of Perdana with Evo engines inside because car is cheap and engine choice is powerful.
If not mistaken Rebadging is very common... so with Platform share
BRZ and Toyota 86 and Scion FR-S is basically just change Badge...
Also Mazda 2 and Toyota yaris is also rebadge....
Got different. Platform sharing means engine/ chassis same. Whatever top can be different. Like Selphy/ Fluence, you can see no similarities. But under pining all same. Rebadging means everything is same with some minor cosmetic differences. You can say Proton is platform sharing with Honda. But there are many reuse parts inside the car to be called platform sharing. Much like how VW lets their older models be Skoda.
Potong as a company already damaged itself so badly, no one would even wanna give them the benefit of doubt. People will only buy their cars if they are cheap. As a guy on the street i will definitely say the old Perdana was around 100K. New one is overpriced. As a person who compares cars, yeah it is cheapest among same class. But you look at the high amount of old Perdanas on the road these days only say much about what people are wiling to spend on them. People with RM160-180K budget would not look at it at all and would go Japanese.
Lol the interior and steering is fxxxing ugly for 2016 and brand flagship model. Imagine one have to go through 7-9 years Loan for this shit. Better get used accord lol
With the same price as Honda Civic but getting Honda Accord 2.0 VTi Engine and features.
isn't it the results of MITI unfair discrimination on the calculation of excise duty? you see the new perdana price difference between Manland and langkawi was only less that rm10k.
while Honda Civic which sold in Australia for RM62k kene charge kaw kaw, then add DRB profit margins on top of it as well then we end up paying double?
Isn't there a conflict of interest since the parent company also distributes Honda in Malaysia? There's incentive present to make either one brand lame. Good thing they can rely on government to buy their cars in addition to the billion Ringgit loan.

Yes.. Better go buy recond/second hand cars than a new one because we people loves germs, unknown maintenance problem that may arise and more germs in the cars. Plus, we prefer non-warranty because we are damn filthy rich to cover the cost if anything happen.

biasa la tu. A haters always find a reason to hate. Rebadging, platform sharing, technology transfer, everything is the same. But proton doesnt rebadge blindly like Naza. For this perdana they actually invest a lot for tooling. But the fake exhaust tip and the outdated interior really a turn off. The max price should also not exceed RM120k. Their most expensive C segment is RM90k. Perdana lowest spec pricing at RM113k is totally unacceptable.
You still can buy previous gen accord?perdana using previous gen accord and current accord is latest gen bodoh Check the spec list bodoh and compare the spec list bodoh
if you wanna get ah moi..would u buy proton or honda?
think wisely man... girls nowdays are materialistic..they care on what car u ar driving.

I agree with the exhaust tip.... at least a chrome laaaa
on the Dashboard... it still look very good vs the current say Camry....
It has a 2 tier LCD layout and quite BMW inspired... frankly although not new but I say the design language of this dashboard still good...
why the hack the interior almost the same accord?? wtf proton
Because honda not allowing it. More likely, they want to clear the inventory of the parts, once cleared, they allowed proton to change or to use their own parts.

7000 of the platform was given by Honda annually to Proton. That is the maximum unit they can sell.

Wait until Proton blow up their Mega Sale RM80K/Proton Perdana 2.4
Then TS beg to have one.
If you notice based on plotong's past record, i bet the perdana 2.4 WILL sell at rm80k.....just that Malaysian like you and me wont get the chance to enjoy it....only EXPORT market.

Why can't proton design (everything) on their own instead of rebadge?
What is the meaning National Car?
Use other people's car, put your own logo?
back in 198X, this is the idea, by rebadge they can learn car technology and slowly go in automotive industry ... but after 30 year we still rebadge and gov called it PRIDE of Malaysia with no shame.
QUOTE(Akmall540 @ Jun 16 2016, 12:36 PM)
this question is legit to ask to P2 also.
P1 is national PRIDE. P2 is build affordable car.
QUOTE(Akmall540 @ Jun 16 2016, 12:54 PM)
so as back up p2 can rebadge other car manufactures product? since p1 is the pioneer, they cannot, p2 as back up can?
liddat?
Because P2 is build to make money and Majority share in P2 not MALAYSIAN, try same equity with proton and u see p2 doom in no day

Hyundai and China automotive they venture into the automotive industry much more earlier than the Proton.
Somehow Proton manage to make better car and technology than the China car automotive.
yah what u said is true on they ventures in early, but their picking up point is the same, when hyundai start collaboration with mitsubishi .....
Malaysia make better car than China now ? u should tell this story to warren buffett cause he make some huge investment in china car manufacturer ......
China on the other hand venture early than the hyundai and proton.
But somehow hyundai left China automative behind. Even Proton which start more later than the both but still catch up faster than the china automotive.
China which starting early in automotive industry by now technically would be the same par as the Japanese car automotive. But China automotive not moving better than the Japanese and Korean automotive.
back in 80 where everything restricted, u can't call China is serious into automotive industry, they just rebadge it as GOV need, when it reach 199X, the story flip ....
which proton technology is better than china ? do u mind share ur knowledge ?

dun be delusional that proton is ahead of china car industry..it cant even sell 5000cars a month in it's home market..and also bring record losses to boot!
