as per new thread titile : i personally hope that brits will exit. it is to preserve the traditional 'feel' of English culture there.
internationally n economically, it shd not leave as it will greatly affect fdi and flow of goods and labour.
p/s: i was there for over a decade!

uk already not in the euro currency.

if it leaves the eu, it will be cut off from a lot of "european" things.

and things "european" have close ties to usa.

i think bad news overall if it leaves.

that might prompt others to leave.

and that means the failure of a pan-european dream, a precursor to failures of similar groupings around the globe.

Despite integration, German and French remain distinct. Dilution of Englishness would from South Asian migrant.

If British exit from Eu, there will be a drastic increase in illegal immigrants, which will be more difficult to administrate than current arrangement. A lack of Polish in the u.k will drive up wages and cost.

This referendum is likely to cause Tory to lose the next g.e.

The oil bulls are trying to turn this around after 5 days of pulling back..

XLE bounces off the 50dma yesterday, so I just follow on the long side here to play along.

Fed leaves rates unchanged, indicates it might only raise once this year

stocks hold gains, but no fierce rally like last couple of times.

wti drifts lower, looking down for a 5th day in a row.

british bookmakers are giving almost the same odds for leaving and not-leaving.
i pro leaving as i wish the british culture n traditions (including the tory gomen) will remain less diluted by foreigners.

For some reason, I think WTI likes to move (+)(-)$5 before it decides to pause or change direction.

i don't think so.... just a rebound after 6 days of decline.

will be tough to cross 47.50 convincingly.

broader market is weak still, tech and healthcare down-down.

Dunno what's going to happen next week after brexit but good enough for now.

This week.. really interesting move for Oil.
We seen it pulled back all the way from $50.xx to $45.xx then, back to $48.xx by closing.

It's gonna keep us guessing where it wants to move by next week.
either another attempt to break out to $50 again or roll back down. biggrin.gif

This week.. really interesting move for Oil.
We seen it pulled back all the way from $50.xx to  $45.xx then, back to $48.xx by closing.

It's gonna keep us guessing where it wants to move by next week.
either another attempt to break out to $50 again or roll back down.  biggrin.gif

With all these boo haa about Brexit, it is interesting to know some of the pros and cons about it.

Have you guys watch Brexit the movie?
If not, just search on YouTube, Brexit the movie, it's like 70 mins long.. watch this with popcorn and soda while
we wait for the real thing to happen by Friday and see how the market reacts. cheers.gif

been reading a few things about brexit/bremain.

the politicians and biz community wants bremain; common/poorer folks want brexit.

latest polls too close to call.

can see futures and oil price are towards the upside, i.e. investors are banging on bremain.

but we will get a realistic assessment of the risks investors are willing to take towards market opening later.

a couple hours before the vote results are known and towards market close, at 3-4am, we should see major volatility as the stocks, fx and commodities traders will be doing some frantic buying and selling. biggrin.gif

even last night, wti went from 50.50 to 48.50, then to 49.50 this morning.

too bad, no euro2016 match to keep me up but still, i will probably stay up until market close.

there should be plenty of opportunities to trade! laugh.gif

i am prepared for a brexit vote. if bremain, never mind.

brexit it is.

seeing the movements since last night, the markets were probably too upbeat and overly eager to push everything higher for bremain.

so, the correction tonight and next week may be severe.

QUOTE
Brexit: How did this just happen?

The betting markets were misinterpreted

One of the biggest reasons that traders were complacent about the possibility of a leave vote was that the betting markets, which are often believed to be more reliable than polling, suggested remain would carry the day.

Pippa Malmgrem, the author and economist, argued that these results were skewed by those betting on Remain placing larger bets.

Bookie odds were skewed by the larger bet sizes by remainers (£450) vs leavers (£75). Majority of bets were leavers

becos u saw bremain and not brexit?

i was not convinced of bremain as the politicians and media were overhyping "how bad it will be for you if brexit".

the carnage continued until end of the day, will likely continue next week.

had put some money on dwti the day before, even early last night.

took 1/2 profit, still holding 1/2.

stocks and crude are not going anywhere anytime soon, imo.

if it breaks that, it will go down further.

now almost 47!

dow futures +1xx.

after 2 days of carnage, should recover a bit tonight.

but i think will be bumpy, need to tread carefully.

i did pick up bits of my fav counters last night.

but got out of dwti and staying out dwti/uwti - this pair is too hot for now! biggrin.gif

what to expect tonight?

.. europe +2%
.. dow futures +200
.. gdp slide halted, usd weakens
.. talk of major central banks loosening (again) soon
.. fed now expected to cut rate instead of hike! biggrin.gif
.. wti rise 2% to >47

oil bulls back in play... norwegian oil workers going on strike.

would be a disaster to have held dwti overnight. sweat.gif

ya, wti is fragile...

up and then lost almost 2% in one hour, now recovering pretty fast too.

i thought it was going back to 46 but now, it looks like going to 48.

api data after closing, eia data tmrw - the weekly game coming up.

if dow close around +200, tmrw should see a continued recovery.

i'm starting to feel a little bullish. tongue.gif

the media and investment houses are influential.

now, many are saying brexit is overblown, brexit may not happen after all...

and talk of rate cut instead of hike.

plus this:

Oil futures climbed in electronic trading Tuesday after the American Petroleum Institute reported that U.S. crude supplies fell by 3.9 million barrels for the week ended June 24, according to sources. Analysts polled by S&P Global Platts forecast a fall of 2.4 million barrels for crude inventories.

wti now 48.30, maybe going 50 soon.

tonight looking like another bull...?! biggrin.gif

Agree on your observation here.. AAPL has this strange weight on it eventho it is the cheapest tech stock in terms of valuation.
Super expensive stocks like LNKD, AMZN, TSLA all at sky-high valuation are being pushed up.

Market already recovered half here ...as usual again, we have seen this game played over and over.
The thing is.. what's next? hmm.gif

Oil is back to the 49'ish again... time to lighten up once again.
Let's continue to play this range (45.xx to 50.xx) until it breaks out.

i bought a little goog that day at 670, looking ok. most expensive price per pop i have ever bought! biggrin.gif

oil... sold all uwti, nice. sold oih too.

now wait and see which direction it will go from here.

2-2.30am may provide a clue.

agree, at this time, i can neither see it going past 50 nor going below 46 than soon.

It's funny how the crude inventory drawn down (this week after EIA report for week of June 24th) spiked up the bulls side so much more than when we had a lesser drawn (the prior week).. prices didn't go down much at all.

IMO, those inventory numbers didn't matter much at all... but the market price over anticipating demand here.
All eager to spike the price up to test and retest until that $50 barrier is broken.

But, time isn't on the bull side much longer. In two or more months, seasonal driving season will wind down in North America, more and more rigs will start to fire up again, we'll go back to doubly oversupply mode again by the time production catch up.

think so too.

just have to play 46-50 range with care.

it just might retreat tonight - brent hit stiff resistance at 50.90.

Oil retreating ahead of the long weekend for US. So, they're taking profits already knowing that the people has pumped up to the max because next week, lesser cars will be on the road. Hedge funds are selling into it - and at the same time, the Arabs are giving additional discounts for all buyers of their oil against the benchmark. They also know they got tons of oversupply here.
All these are against prices from going higher than $50.

Again, we're continue to see the same range bound $45-$50 price for a while.

$50 (sell)
$45 (buy)

you are trading with itrade?
min fees around US36? so buy+sell is US72.
if transact around RM10k, the fees itself will eat up about 3% of the profit.
that's why i so hesitate to trade short term or daily trade. Need to hold for days to get reasonable profit. Otherwise to put 20k or above to trade, which i did last time and ended up loss 3 iphones. sweat.gif

that's why i so hesitate to trade short term or daily trade. Need to hold for days to get reasonable profit. Otherwise to put 20k or above to trade, which i did last time and ended up loss 3 iphones.  sweat.gif

i trade more with IB, low brokerage fees.

too costly to trade too much with local brokers, even on special deals.

IB is probably the cheapest - as low as $1 per transaction. but it's a cash account and limited to 3 day trades per 5 days unless account has >$25k. which is why i sometimes hold overnight. However, some people reported local banks now making it difficult for initial deposit TT.

TDAA is not as cheap but apparently easier to join..?

After 3 days.. it is like Brexit? What Brexit? Here we are again, as if nothing can stop this bull.. biggrin.gif

We'll have to wait for another scary story.

I think the Aunty Yellen needs to come out now and surprise the bulls with a .25 pts rate hike now. devil.gif

Have u notice that eventho crude has recovered half its value from the demise prior to the Brexit,
the weekly trend for crude price seems to be pointing downwards here since the peak in early June?
Unlike the general market.. crude seems to be forming a lower high and lower low trend. hmm.gif

it has been trending down since it hit 52 on 8 jun, albeit the shock gyrations between then and now.

whereas dow is unchanged during the period.

i just think the bulls went overboard before that, pushed too much, too high with every little piece of positive news.

now, with brexit and no more supply disruptions, cold feet sets in.

i think it will return to 46 in the coming days/weeks but not lower.

Bought some SPY call options last week, sold out for a decent profit but far too early.

If I held them until Friday would have made 4x as much

Oh well, some profit still better than none

Congrats! rclxms.gif That's right bro!.. some is always better than none or could be worse -
some sold out at the bottom on Monday on Brexit fears.. but with the central banks holding at extremely
low interests and some bond yields at NEGATIVE, money got no where to go but in stocks.
It is crazy... they're driving high valuation again.

The official job numbers will be out tomorrow. So, it's going to be volatile day again tomorrow.
So, whatever profits you can get, it is best to take some money off the table before the market closes.

Not sure either... but some are saying that we'll see $40 before we see $55 first because of couple of bear cases already in place: i) the growing
inventory - China strategic stockpile is almost full now after buying so much crude during the cheapy price the last 2-3 months ii) Rigs count going back up iii) driving and travelling seasons in North America already peak and going into the second half.. just two more months only to Labor day and iv) OPEC still refuses to cut production despite so many meetings - they simply can't agree with each other and Iranians are ignoring the Arabs.

I am not sure what will drive prices up unless we can see demand up.. everything is softening now.
If UK goes into recession, there will be some other dominoes will follow.

I think likely, we' heading back down after 1-2 more rotations here between 45.xx and 50.xx range play.

i see 3 points:
1. some of the opec countries had already peak out their production, ie. saudi. In 2017/2018, they may produce less oil, not strategically but in reality.
2. uk/euro instability may further delays us rate hike, which trigger funds out flow from us. That case, usd will be weaker which is positive for commodities that trades with usd. However, the world's instability also may trigger usd to stay as safe heaven, which even enhance usd's appreciation.
3. india is the new china which leads demand in next 10 years. Its growth is so far so good.

my read is a little different, more like dan's.

slacks in opec have been picked up by others. strikes, fires, rebels have also contributed to erratic price spikes but all that is over. and there is iran pumping away as #2; new fields in khazakhstan and gulf of mexico coming onstream. there is simply no shortage of oil on the planet at this time.

brexit effects so far are knee-jerk. more safe haven bonds going negative yields says it all - there will be a significant slowdown in uk and the eu - less demand for oil. china's stockpile is filled to the brim, can't buy much more.

growth in india and others is far from enough to pick the slack in china. india can't grow faster in energy consumption industries because of serious lack of water in the subcontinent.

45-46 is not the bottom. i see it diving below at least one more time, and will not cross 52 this year.

so, i will not hold much oil/energy stocks/etf's for now. will just trade accordingly. the correlation crude-dow is still significant.

tonight, unless dow slides again, there should be a chance for wti to touch 46 again. just don't wait too long to settle uwti! biggrin.gif

jobs report at 8.30pm.

futures after 8.30pm will give indication where market will go later.

Friday's employment report is expected to show a rebound to 175,000 nonfarm payrolls, from May's stunningly weak 38,000, according to Thomson Reuters. The June report is expected to include a reversal of the negative impact of the Verizon strike, which bit into May's number and should add about 35,000 workers to the June report.

yes, i agree that oil has no shortage, probably at least for the next 5-10 years.
it's just about the question of “where is the bottom", which is a million dollar question. ie. WB thinks 95-100 is Apple's bottom, but many thinks much lower. Anyways, WB made a bad bottom estimation on IBM before, who know. laugh.gif

U.S. stock index futures extended gains Friday after the June non-farm payrolls report exceeded expectations with a headline figure of 287,000.

"This is really good news. It's not going to change monetary policy in the near term because we're still unraveling the effects of the (EU) referendum," said Art Hogan, chief market strategist at Wunderlich Securities.

I won't be surprised if those financial media will find a reason for it biggrin.gif

I think at least Crude should stay here at the $45 support level with the good job numbers.

Longer term, it should drive consumption higher but then again, the idle suppliers also can fire up those rigs anytime
and the OPECs ready for round 2 fight if it happens again.

This article is saying that O&G industry may be ready to hire again:

You know.. it seems the only thing holding up crude tonight above $45 now is the 'good' feeling about the job market data from US despite the disappointment from the lesser inventory drawn by mid week. rolleyes.gif

I think it will make another run to 50 again by next week if here is additional drawn..then the oil bulls will think it is another demand from the better employed consumers. Might want to hang on to some oil related shares here..at this level.

For you guys playing the leverage game.. I think UWTI can hold off 25.50 as long as Oil stays above $45. nod.gif

this kind of "mistake" is in all of us, whatever approach/method applied.

it's simply not possible to buy at low-low and sell high-high.

i bought a few counters 2 days into brexit rout, now holding 4-5% gain.

BUT... that was a huge risk i took when there was so much fear.

brexit could have caused stocks to go down by another 3% or so.

Bears need that 44.50 to break.
Bulls want that 45.50 and higher to reverse gear and move back up to $50 again.

That UWTI chart (6 months) seems to imply a bottom is forming, with a saucer like shape moving up.
If that is true.. it could mean more bad news for Oil price. But, since it is 3x leverage.. it's quite difficult to say for certain.

Anyone here got a non-leverage inverse Oil chart that we can see?

here's another analyst saying "oil market is now more balanced, tighter...".
http://www.cnbc.com/2016/07/10/oil-near-2-...et-balance.html

then somewhere in the text, it reads:
Other data from Friday showed hedge funds cut bullish bets on U.S. crude to the lowest in four months.

Thanks! This one is interesting...
Lotsa of gaps on this ETF. Must not be liquid..

Anyway, I put that SZO ticker on StockChart.. it's coming up on that 200ma line around 90.
We need it to break up that line to be considered bullish for this inverse ETF. nod.gif

Wow... just less than 1 hr to go before general market closes, UWTI being pummeled by bears.
It looks like it will likely head back to low 21/22 by this week, which could mean good news for DWTI here.

Oil services sector in sweet spot.. hence, that's the reason, we may not see XLE/OIH falls much eventho
Crude price may fall.

may - crude price up
june - overall flat

july - dropped. if it continues to drop or stay low, petrol price should go down, 10-15 sen/l.

like we have seen many times, even a small piece of positive news will send the oil bulls rallying!

Oil prices rise on Iraq loading worries; bearish investors cap gains

will see later if the usual pattern emerges - asian/european traders will push it up high, then drop like hell just before nymex opens. biggrin.gif

but really, the fall has been too sharp, some recovery is to be expected...

dow futures now +7x; if it goes lower, wti will likely dive.

i will go dwti again if it stays up high. tongue.gif

there is no big reason for wti to rally except for the iraq thingy which is supposedly resolved now.

and the usual "weak $"...

but must not forget the fabulous api insider info syndrome later in the session.

Yup... they gap it up, suck people in and sell into the rally.

But, I think $44.50-$45.50 support should hold support here with the market at this all time high.

The only thing to fear is usually there is a sudden black swan event in the next few days to bring down the entire market, with the media cooking up another similar horror story like Brexit.

looking at the gyrations in the last few minutes, i will hold until tmrw.

maybe api will report +3.3mil instead of experts estimate of -3.3mil.

will have to see later.

wild swings again tonight, i think:

the American Petroleum Institute on Tuesday showed U.S. crude inventories rose by 2.2 million barrels in the week to July 8 to 523.1 million, compared with analysts' expectations for a decrease of 3 million barrels.

it's probably a mixed picture.

china, the main consumer of commodities is showing lackluster performance:
http://www.cnbc.com/2016/07/13/china-june-...ts-decline.html

commodities... some rebounding like mad, some still in doldrums. can't lump them all in one.

crude... many nations depend on it to survive, a sole source of income, cannot pump less. plus all those floaters now with so much in stock.

one thing for sure - we will have cheap petrol and "low inflation" for a long time.

like bnm says:

Sometimes, I think those numbers (API and EIA) do not matter much but rather cause the kneel jerk reaction
and push prices towards the extreme side of the range if they cross over a technical line.

Right now, we're still in this mid-term range here: 44.50 to 51.50

But, since we're at the low 45 range here for crude and general market at highs, I think if the general market pulls back, crude could likely test that floor and if more bears pile in, that 44.x floor can collapse.
So, better put a tight stop here. nod.gif

Nicely done! rclxms.gif

Anyway, thanks for the heads up on SZO but it is difficult to see that chart.
On the other hand, DWTI despite its leverage move for inverse crude, its chart is forming a nice nice saucer-like shape and moving up on the far right side. It looks bullish and readying for another push to 90-100 level.

Yeah.. of course they do but I don't think they went in buy back their oil like that just to support the market from collapsing below that number.

All they need to do is just to say the words 'cut production', and this Oil market will rally to the moon. biggrin.gif

Perhaps do not even need to act on it.. just say 'maybe we're thinking about cutting back xx', the bulls will jump back in as if it will definitely happen.

You know why? It is just like how in early part of this year, when OPEC and Russians were planning to talk about "freezing" production at the current level (not even cut.. just maintain only) but the talks collapsed with no agreement. Oil rallied from the lows of $26 till this level with no confirmation on what they actually did or did not do.

So far, in reality NONE of them has any production cut at all... how the heck did the market even justify the price at this level, right? All talk only, but the bulls got very excited already. biggrin.gif

Haha! Very true. Bulls just cannot take it to see oil too low.
In fact, for any business, if cost higher than market price, the business will die naturally.
On oil, it's tricky since it's actually a "must-have" business that the world needs it everyday. Now strangely, those business is making loss, and demand is below supply. In theory, this cannot last for long. Either they are able to bring cost down tremendously so that back to profit making, or the business will still die essentially (but, they can't! tricky!)
Therefore, "invisible force" will continue pushing bulls ahead no matter how. laugh.gif

Oil price since the last few years (since its sky rocketing move in the 2000's) behave more like stock market, instead based on real/actual commodities transaction.

There are plenty pure speculators investment in the market, who long/short the market, without real interest in the oil delivery/supply that causing wide swing to top and bottom.

biggrin.gif thumbup.gif

really, that has been happening for sure. only that the bulls NEED to push it higher all the time.

every small mere "cut talk" from opec will stir up a rally.

every temp outage - fire or strike or fighting will light up a rally.

once a while, iea says something nice - rally again.

when iran or saudi ramps up production, or new oil fields come onstream, not so much talk.

china can't buy/stock more; excess crude on floaters is now at 7 year high.

now, there is a part 2 - gasoline and diesel are now overflowing from the refiners too.

Agree with all the sayings here. Each time when i expect crude to dip below 45, 44 then 42, i will see my screen flashing msg like ' oil rallies due to ...'. Ut sinply doesnt make sense but thise opec, saudis n production disruptions would surface to DEFEND crude prices. Coincidence? Man-made? Will crude crash 1 day when reality sets in?
Ignoring all the facts, just by looking at cryde charts, its a bullish commodity! Hack! Omg.

Cash out XLE here at 69.50.. just another lucky catch.. will wait to see if it can attempt to break higher than Tuesday high. Yet again, yesterday was another one of those gap-to-fill play. smile.gif

Despite oil pulling back to the 45.xxl, I'm surprise how bullish the Oil companies stocks (inside XLE/OIH holdings) has become. They seem to be diverging away from the crude price.

Not sure about superb but better than 6 months ago or perhaps stablized already after so many deferred projects and cost cut backs.

Also, the majors producers inside the XLE holdigns - most have nice dividends higher than the 10 yr yield. So, they're perceived to be safe - meaning the producers will unlikely to cut them despite declining revenue from lower crude price. The institutional investors are buying them on dips and hope for turn around sometimes in the future (probably a few years later).

On the fundamentals, right now, most of these oil producers stocks are not cheap anymore in terms of value, the historical PE was like 16-18 level and now - their PE at is around 25-35 (after the declined revenues for the past few quarters). If earnings continue to slump and cannot catch up.. I think we will see collapse in stock prices again.

Assuming the industry norm is at 20, these oil producers r very expensive + high risk of lower crude prices n thus declining earnings to follow, dont seem like goid investment here.
Anyway i dont like to play those oil firms. To me, not the time at all.

about huge reversals, it may have started!? biggrin.gif

last major rise:
april-june 2016
35.40->51.40 = +45%

june 2016-now
51.40->45.10 = -12%
to go lower?

with 3x leverage, can gain or lose 36-135% less decay in those periods.

Well, it's Friday.. I don't think the oil traders will bet on any big move tonight unless they know something going
to happen next week that may spike it up.

$45-$46.50 should be good range to trade for now.

the api/eia game starts again tonight/tmrw.

as an appetizer, 2 "conflicting" estimates in the last 12 hours:

Further weighing on supply, U.S. commercial crude oil inventories likely fell by 2.2 million barrels from 521.8 million barrels in the week ended July 15, a preliminary Reuters poll of analysts showed on Monday.

....

Market intelligence firm Genscape reported that the Cushing, Oklahoma delivery hub for U.S. crude futures saw a supply build of 26,460 barrels in the week to July 15, traders who saw the data said.

few minutes to opening.

oil bulls looking for a reason and found one today! biggrin.gif

A protest over wages that shut the eastern Libyan oil terminal of Hariga forced the operator of the Sarir field to suspend production of 100,000 barrels per day.

but really, we'll have to see how api/eia plays out.

profound numbers may seal the direction for the next few weeks.

looks like 44.66 is the lowest for today - mild fireworks. biggrin.gif

from past few days pattern, it will ramp up, maybe to 45, after 2.15am.

then wait for api data at 4.30am.

and dow looks like going to close negative, snapping 7 day winning streak.

wti futures rolling over from aug to sep...

sep 45.47
aug 44.60.

2.3m draw is not high. will see what eia says tonight.

U.S. crude stockpiles fell by 2.3 million barrels last week, trade group American Petroleum Institute (API) reported. That was just above a 2.1 million-barrels draw forecast in a Reuters poll.

For distillate inventories including diesel, API reported a surprise draw of 484,000 barrels. It also said there was an unexpected gasoline build of 805,000 barrels.

true, true...

that's how money is made - has to go up.

going down shrinks the pie, most will lose.

but...

as usual, watch 9pm onwards - the bulls will dump, let nymex deal with it. biggrin.gif

my take is unless eia reports draw of >3mil, wti will not go up.

if it reports a buildup, it will dive like hell, nice then. tongue.gif

actually, can't say the report is positive.

i think wti will stay weak...

U.S. commercial crude stockpiles fell by 2.3 million barrels to a total of 519.5 million barrels, the Energy Information Administration reported.

Meanwhile, gasoline stocks rose by 911,000 barrels, compared with the Reuters poll forecast for no change. Distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, fell by 214,000 barrels, versus expectations for a 600,000-barrel increase, the EIA data showed.

meanwhile dow keeps going up.

Complacency is settling in.. all is calm, no rain or storm or any kind of bad events on the horizon.
VIX is low, bond yield is low, energy prices low... unemployment low... all is good.
Crazy as it sounds, market participants expect a 5% more up from here.

Only thing that can bring down this market is if Fed mumbles another possible interest rate hike.
But, most unlikely with the US election in November. They may not want to derail this rally.

Not sure where crude is going but likely it will stay within range bound here till end of year.

whether market will take more profit or resume gains on a friday.

eyes will now be on boj july 29 after ecb holds helicopter money yesterday.

wti getting serious support at 44.50.

will be fun to see if it will bounce back or break to move lower still.

my bet is it will head for 41.xx. tongue.gif

Today i ran into some problems trying to fund my broker account in USA.
The Maybank (over the counter) told me that i cant send funds overseas for foreign investment purpose without Bank negara approval. They said i need necessary documents, such as S&P and Stamped documents such as offer letter from the foreign investment entity.

I just want to wire 2500 USD from my foreign currency account to my USA broker account. But they wont allow.

I looked at Bank negara FAQ, http://www.bnm.gov.my/microsites/fxadmin/n...1_Residents.pdf
no mention of restriction

Anyone encounter this before?

no fires, no strikes, no opec talk, no production cuts.

not even slightest positive news.

excess gasoline, excess diesel.

not only crude but refined products too are in a glut.

the bulls are getting off.

long positions reducing by the day.

Wow... such more paperwork for just $2500 ??

Funny, it not even million or tens of thousands, perhaps now BNM is too zealous or nervous, and they're putting in all sorts of bureaucracy to discourage money transfer out from the country.

It must be after that Money-Laundering fiasco by you-know-who. brows.gif

probably tightening controls to discourage individual funds outflow.

news is that epf is allowing more flexibility for unit trusts having foreign stocks.

to encourage individuals to let "some other hands" handle it?! tongue.gif

likely get closer to 42 tonight.

more so if eia reports unfavorable stocks change.

The American Petroleum Institute reported an 800,000-barrel draw in crude oil inventories for the week to July 22. Strategic inventories at Cushing, Oklahoma, however, were up by 1.4 million barrels. WTI plunged to a three-month low today, before the release of the API figures, to US$42.83 a barrel. Brent crude was trading at US$44.78 at 4.30pm EDT.

but if iea says "more time needed to rebalance" or "oil traders now holding even more crude in tankers" or "russia incr output"... that will be really bad.

i was just checking...

june 8... wti about 52, dwti 66.
july 27... wti 42, dwti 110.

change for wti about 20%.
change for dwti about 60%.
so, 3x leverage is correct.

I hope so... understandably crude is going lower because of supply concerns but
it should not be a straight line down.

Need a little push back up first.. before the next round.

We're now in 40.xx to 45.xx range play.

If bearish sentiments continue tomorrow, I hope worst case is 40.50 support level but
need to get back above 42.50 by Friday closing. sweat.gif

crude + gasoline stocks incr...

in the absence of major dev, some chartists now quoting 40.36 next stop.

but after 5 straight days of heavy losses, good chance a mild recovery first.

also interesting to note last year jun-aug was very dramatic for wti.

history repeating itself! seasonal? biggrin.gif

looking back, it shd goes up tp 43+ anytime, unless, unless there are 'bad' news to further push it downwards.

the fall's been drastic, scary even.

asian traders pushed it back up to 42.10 today but european traders now pounding it back to 41.80.

and their past behavior says they will flee just before 9.30pm.

so, maybe 41.50-41.60 at opening later.

if it breaks that, i think it will go 40.xx by tmrw.

question... tonight... to uwti or dwti? biggrin.gif
