Is the number of buyer significant if comparing with other national, country?

Malaysian house price cheaper than HK and more affordable to middle income Hong Kongies. Is like mega discount. HNWI won't bother with Malaysia. They go for major western countries.

Tonight market bounced, following HK news.
I don't see any other catalyst until next 2~3 weeks, Fed supposedly lower another 25bps by mid or end of Sept.

DT yet to confirm a definite date for meeting with China to discuss trade. Suppose to happen..

Could be another dead cat bounce.  hmm.gif

I thought there's some data going to be released this Friday? ! Something about jobs.

Not good news on trade...

https://www.axios.com/state-department-chin...766acd499e.html

The State Department on Tuesday announced that it would impose visa restrictions on Chinese government officials who are believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, the mass detention and surveillance of Uighurs and other Muslim minority groups in Xinjiang province.

The big picture: China has detained an estimated 1 million to 2 million Uighur Muslims in the region of Xinjiang in "re-education camps" as part of a coordinated campaign of forced assimilation. The State Department's announcement follows a decision by the Commerce Department on Monday to blacklist 28 Chinese companies from doing business with the U.S. over the alleged abuses — moves that come just days before another round of highly anticipated trade talks in Washington.

In response to Monday's announcement, a Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson said:

"We strongly urge the U.S. to immediately stop making irresponsible remarks on the issue of Xinjiang, stop interfering with the wrong actions of China’s internal affairs, and remove relevant Chinese entities from the list of entities as soon as possible."

https://www.investors.com/market-trend/stoc...tocks-drubbing/

Amid the escalating trade sanctions, and with China's government threatening to end the planned Oct. 10-11 trade negotiations early , the markets again took a hit. At around 3:20 p.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell nearly 0.7%, while the S&P 500 dropped 1%. The tech-laden Nasdaq fell almost 1.1%, while the small-cap Russell 2000 declined 1.3%.

Trade talks failing before it begins..

but warren buffett is a long term investor and he has 60% portfolio in cash.  hmm.gif

Cause he can afford to wait. He don't need to be fully invested. His one year dividend don't know how many million dollars already. Size matters.

Can you recommend a good global treasury ETF that can be bought through IB? Or is US treasury ETF good enough? (There is currency risk though)
*
You buy them directly off IB. No need ETF. No need peaky requirements like. In Malaysia usd250k.

Alternatively you can use global bond etf.

So, you guys probably get this question a million times already but can you please help and tell me what’s the best way to buy US stocks in Malaysia? I’ve already opened one in Public Bank but the fees is ridiculous.

I also recently opened an account with Webull but I’m not sure how good it is and haven’t deposited any money in it yet.
What do you guys use to trade and what’s the pros and cons of using that?
*
Interactive broker. Forget Malaysian broker. Forget those neve regard before broker. You will regret it.
Pro
Commision wise only few cent per transaction
Spot exchange rate (real time foreign exchange rate)
Multiple markets access
Many whitelabels available

Cons
You cannot do a direct transfer in (RM->RM)
Most Malaysian banks will ban transfer to interactive broker. Can't do anthropology about it as is unwritten policy of Malaysian banks to ban anything to do with forex. There might be some banks which let you through.
Expensive cost if transferring RM->USD
You need USD100k in cash or stock value or generate monthly commision of USD10/month or you will be charge USD10/month. You can overcome this by using whitelabels or simply trade more.
Not friendly user interface.
No real time data (you don't need it anyway). You can pay or use free ones. I never even use it.
One free local withdrawal a month to the bank account in that local currency.

Why no love for Apple?
Also, just curious why you picked MasterCard over Visa?
*
Apple = over price piece of hardware without innovations and new tech since Steve jobs.
Sure is a cash cow.
Look around you. How many people uses iPhone?
Is iPhone cool nowadays screaming must buy like last time?
Look at your work place, are everyone using Mac?
Services iTunes vs Sportify, you do the maths.
Any new tech/innovation came out from them? No. All copycat android.

I rather tesla over Apple anytime.

Mastercard more people will us either in the future. Nowadays most bank gives you Mastercard vs visa.
Eg. Maybank. They give out Mastercard vs Visa. Last time I opened an account with them they gave me visa. Now is Mastercard. Hing leong, Cimb, ocbc. All fintech generally give you Mastercard.Transferwise, revolut, bigpay, grabpay, monzo,

Makes sense. I don't own any Apple products.
But, the only good thing I see about Apple is the brand loyalty and the company moving towards a 'lifestyle' company away from being solely selling phones and computers.
I believe one day there will be an iHouse or iCar. Not today but maybe in the year 2200.

Would like to see their I can vs tesla.
Google better choice actually.
