Been up since mon.  But today is crazy high.

Now thinking should I hold those brought last week dip or sell. But might hold the NVDA till earning time.

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Aug 15 2024, 10:44 PM)
Yes, in about 2 weeks, if they spike it up there before earnings announcement, it will be sell the news kinda situation.
Or.. it misses or have any projection about slowdown in AI spending... boom, it will be punished again.  sweat.gif

Also, the price now is above when the CEO sold some of this holdings.. better let some go before earnings.
Always good to book some profits. laugh.gif

Good if you guys want to lock in some profit now. I'm super long for NVDA, if the revenue growth continues, I will hold for at least 3 years and see how. I am super long on tech stocks, I have some that are over 10 years.

buy Grab stock if you're willing to wait, their losses are getting lesser quarter after quarter yet revenue keep increase. Once it starts having steady profits its stock will boom.
cheap now at just 3+ USD. Can just buy and hold 100 stocks to see how it goes.

I try to find cheap stocks (other than the big tech stocks), yet have a positive growth outlook. You'll make more if they succeed. Tesla stock started off at less than 30USD a stock when no one thought they will be this big in future.
*
I did that in the old days and still occasionally do that. But it's very hard to spot the gems and their performance can be quite inconsistent. Instead, I buy the leaders in the industry which I ended up with Mag7 since many years back. I find that to have a much more predictable returns doing it that way.

QUOTE(ozak @ Aug 16 2024, 10:39 AM)
Good to hold long.

I have several lot of nvda. Different time and price. Got long, short term and swing. Depend on the price at the current, some I need to let go as the plan is for short term.

NVDA will have another good earning. But as usual, like others, this MM will pickup some small matter to smash down the price. Eventually, the price will still going up in long.

I learn something how the mag 7 invest in AI and why they went big. In short, they have to go in big or lose everything. AI still sometime to go.
*
Not everyone believe in AI, some believe in AI bubble.

Afraid this round earning not sure is up or down?

70:30, higher chances of upside from how I see it. Hope I'm right. But sometimes Wall St can be notorious to send the stock down even when all the numbers look good. Just look at Amazon at its recent earnings.

My friends still waiting for covid year level. Not sure why they keep timing the market.

Tell your friend don't time the market. It's a mission impossible. Ride with the market is the right way to go. cool2.gif

Most important earnings from tech. The whole market will cling to NVDA whether it's up or down

Don't play with Chinese stocks. My personal advices. Too unpredictable and the govt has too much control especially when the company is doing very well. I cleared all my Chinese stocks decade ago, lesson learnt.

Totally agree. There is no such thing as totally private sector in China. All publicly listed companies are controlled by the CCP and they can fudge any numbers in the financial reports to make it look good on the outside but all rotten inside. Just like their tofu construction in many housing and building development. Even those China based ADR shares are just too dangerous to buy. No overseas shareholders are entitled to any equity at all, all using complex VIE to make investors think they've equity. Very dangerous.  sweat.gif
*
Yes, avoid Chinese ADR. I got burnt in early days of my investment. Too naive to believe the Chinese that time.

Same thoughts. Waiting for big institutions to come in and scoop up the stock. Now can see most sellings are from retailers.

Probably not AVGO. I think it's the pending employment data that's holding up the market now.

me around 86. chill.. it's just usual september frenzy.. just hold

though, fed announcement next week and then election is coming on november, hard to say, can be a rather wild ride for end of 2024
*
Yes agreed, hold now and wait for the bounce. Will bounce back by next earnings call. My average is slightly lower and I'm not bothered with the downtrend.
