Why keeping cash when bull market lasted for the past 9 years? Even the Sell in May / summer and go away trading adage this year also not happening too..

Banks, insurance and TECH will be usual pickup industries to watch closely during bull market..

Year 2013
60% - Equity 20% - Bond 20% - Cash

Year 2016
70% - Equty 20% - Bond 10% - Cash

Early 2nd Half 2018

oh....i think 5 years ago i got about 10% in bond, 10% in FD, 5% cash daily use, the rest all in stock.
but about 3 years ago, i sold all bond and FD and put them all into stock because i have been optimistic on healthy recovery of world economy, which would move interest rate upwards (that could hurt bond). And the 5% cash for daily use still remains.

for now, from the 95% on stock, 24% of it are cash since i sold stocks as market rally. my cash level moves from 5%-25% range, so right now consider to hit the upper level. Time to buy some "cheaper" stocks (if i couldn't find any real cheap ones).

It is difficult to find cheaper ones now except retail stocks (the brick and mortar ones) but they're big warning signs.
The big FANG stocks continue to work. Other than that, for long term, just ride the general index and buy dips until it doesn't work.

So far this year, it's working. 4 times, it touches the 50ma, 4 times it get bought and it gets back to all time highs again.
