I was abt to comment too,... these people never think properly before they do anything,... and they're the highest govt in the world,.... Better just buy vix or to avoid the market all together for now. After doing it and things don't turn out well,... just reverse,... no need to apologise too. It's good to be in govt....... Many kena forced-selling,... but I guessed this is what they call risks-lar,... |

QUOTE(Cubalagi @ Apr 13 2025, 04:27 PM) I think these two instruments need to depend on the general mkt to provide the liquidity. But DLCs have the 'issuer' too providing the liquidity, hence, the spread will not be too big. |

QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Apr 15 2025, 06:41 PM) Hansel this downturn meant i was able to makan a couple more covered call options.. Understood, yes, collecting Premiums from your Options. Emm,... if the mkt turns, then it's against you,... but of cos, if u don't mind to short, can earn more. covered call is for u to "collect rental" while you HODL your shares Yeah,... I have done many shorts in life. |

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Apr 16 2025, 07:08 AM) Selling covered calls not too bad. Worst case scenario is just base price went above your sold call price You make more from successful shorts. You just have to ensure you win more than you lose. And you prevent losing too much by placing stop-losses at proper positions.and your common stocks get called away. But, shorting common stocks are dangerous. Loss can be unlimited if market continues upward. As traders, just have to cut losses if the loss target are breached. For covered calls, from personal experience, if we wish to earn a larger premium, we need to place the price quite near to the spot price. Otherwise, the risk/return reward is not worth it. Then when the mkt behaves 'wrongly', against what TA predicted,... you lose the shares which you have accumulated. I love to collect shares,... good shares,... |

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Apr 16 2025, 07:10 AM) Yes, unfortunately, his tariffs not done yet. For the next 90 days, things are murky. Frankly,... things are all up to one man. His 90 days are just for the Reciprocal Tariffs. But will he really adhere to the said 90-day period ? Not sure how many negotiations are there.. The main street numbers will be out in about 4-6 weeks time when they realized everything became so expensive again after all the existing imports are gone and no more shipment coming back in. Not sure how J.Powell will be able reduce rate if inflation ticks back up. And then,.... there are other 'Tariff Buckets' which he can employ, egs for semiconductors and basic consumer electronic equipment. Yesterday, Scott Bessent said in Buenos Aires that they've started working on this tariff. Probably will have ann't by this week. And then there are Sectorial Tariffs which he can employ, egs for autos and automotive parts. China's tariff is called Retaliatory Tariffs,.... So many different names,... Feds' main duty is to Ensure Maximum Employment. If the jobs numbers on any coming Fridays start showing bad things, they can start thinking abt cutting. Managing Price Stability comes second. |

QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Apr 20 2025, 07:01 AM) in the right market conditions (i haven't found a way to find this "right conditions", u can easily see how it'll turn out badly), doing a wheel strategy is very profitable The way Ramjade describes his tactics,... he does not need any right mkt conditions. He has a list of a few tactics that is able to defeat ALL mkt conditions,... no need to even see current mkt conditions. wheel strategy = sell calls, get stocks pulled away, sell puts, get stocks back. and repeat forever. hence why it's called wheel |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ May 18 2025, 09:34 PM) I will repeat what xuzen have said. The world index have like 60% US. So you cannot run away even if Is US not doing well. Only way around it is avoid US market altogether. But US market have always been the one who which is easy money and whole world depend on US so if you go world index thinking of trying to reduce your risk, with a 60% holdings you cannot run away Bro,...In short don't bother. Stick with US. I have just re-opened my Tigers acct,... would like to ask you : What are the pros and cons of using Tiger Brokers to do Sell options ? I see that most Option traders would go for IB. |

QUOTE(TOS2 @ May 30 2025, 09:37 AM) Section 899 is all over the news. Your dividends from US stocks will be taxed a further 5% per year for the next 4 years. And for the first time, treasuries earnings will be taxed. Thank you, bro TOS2 for this update. More taxes then for divvies earned in The US. More investors will shift to SG divvy ctrs after this.https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/202...ll-street-angst https://www.ft.com/content/b400009a-9a0e-4e...ed-2a25c2de0d8f https://www.economist.com/united-states/202...igners-for-cash TOS2 liked this post

I thinking,... not only will US stock dividends be hit, capital gains and options premiums earned will be hit too soon. Basically,... anything that has to do with US instruments will be hit with taxes and deductions so long as the beneficiary parties are not US Persons..
And US REITs listed in the SGX too,... they may not have the REIT privileges soon. There will be withholding taxes imposed on the dividend payouts from Prime and Utd Hampshire REIT,... |

QUOTE(danmooncake @ Jun 2 2025, 11:30 PM) Why need to offload VOO/QQQM since the divi are so low? Good pts in the above, dan,....US-T-bills - probably so, 'coz they're considered dividends. Some of them are as high as 5%. If they want to increase the tax on dividends, heck, even sovereign wealth funds won't want to buy Treasury any more. Maybe consider US growth equities with cap gains only from now on. The Big "F**kup" Bill is with the US Senate now.. hoping they'll nix it. Hmm,... cap gains earned by non-US Persons are not taxed yet ?? |
