Two material events seen now after 12 midnight now in The USA :-

1) Yuan drops to lowest on record, Offshore Yuan.
2) Oil falls below $60 per bbl.

Made a killing on Friday with a DLC instrument :-

1) Bought BYD 5xLongSG250904 on 10 Apr 2025 13:00:08. The filled price is SGD 0.156.

2) Then Sold BYD 5xLongSG250904 (SG) has been filled on 11 Apr 2025 16:53:50. The filled price is SGD 0.205. Ie Taken profit before mkt close on Friday.

Win percentage was (0.205-0.156)/0.156 = 31.41%.

No bro,.. this is DLCs - Daily Leverage Certificates. KInd of an instrument in the exchange.

Options-man is Ramjade,... I wonder what is he experiencing now with the current mkt turmoil ?

I think these two instruments need to depend on the general mkt to provide the liquidity. But DLCs have the 'issuer' too providing the liquidity, hence, the spread will not be too big.

If you had an opportunity to hold your shorts open for 90 days,... then you would have had a chance to make back,...

Understood, yes, collecting Premiums from your Options. Emm,... if the mkt turns, then it's against you,...

Yeah,... I have done many shorts in life.

You make more from successful shorts. You just have to ensure you win more than you lose. And you prevent losing too much by placing stop-losses at proper positions.

For covered calls, from personal experience, if we wish to earn a larger premium, we need to place the price quite near to the spot price. Otherwise, the risk/return reward is not worth it. Then when the mkt behaves 'wrongly', against what TA predicted,... you lose the shares which you have accumulated. I love to collect shares,... good shares,...

Frankly,... things are all up to one man. His 90 days are just for the Reciprocal Tariffs. But will he really adhere to the said 90-day period ?

And then,.... there are other 'Tariff Buckets' which he can employ, egs for semiconductors and basic consumer electronic equipment. Yesterday, Scott Bessent said in Buenos Aires that they've started working on this tariff. Probably will have ann't by this week.

And then there are Sectorial Tariffs which he can employ, egs for autos and automotive parts.

I thinking,... not only will US stock dividends be hit, capital gains and options premiums earned will be hit too soon. Basically,... anything that has to do with US instruments will be hit with taxes and deductions so long as the beneficiary parties are not US Persons..

And US REITs listed in the SGX too,... they may not have the REIT privileges soon. There will be withholding taxes imposed on the dividend payouts from Prime and Utd Hampshire REIT,...
