Just let TM do it. Never trust those outside installer. I used to let them do that and then until one day TM tells me that the port is unusable for internet. And I was like WTF, I already paid the installer money and I need to pay TM again because it is not usable?
*
The problem was TM don't want to do it. They insist to ask my management to do bangwall.gif
If they are the one doing it, the installation will be complete much more quicker.. Bloody servie wow bruce.gif

Cat 5 telephone line? Did you type it wrongly?

Cat 5 is LAN cable (RJ45), used for internet only.
Telephone Line is RJ11, used for internet and telephone.
*
Hi mztang52, can you help?

For a condo, from riser room to inside of a house is using RJ45 or RJ11?
I need to tell contractor to install the correct one.

Which one is used for Unifi?

Typically for highrise it would be RJ11, your normal POTS wire.  This normally adds about 20ms latency vs those that use fiber.
*
Correct me if I am wrong, RJ11 is slim and flat wire and RJ45 is is rounded wire.

The wire from my house to riser is rounded.. Is it possible they are using RJ45? confused.gif

Last time, a contractor told me all the cable inside riser are new..
So he told me to install a new one as well

I knew my neighbor did install a new cable, so ask him which contractor he called smile.gif

Oh. So your Management doesnt want to take any responsibility?
*
sort of.. first time I ask them, they tell me to wait, will find maintenance and get back to me.

waited for 3 days no news.. then I take a half day off went to management to talk with them, then they told me anything inside my house is my own responsibility, I have to find my own contractor

You can try call 100 to complaint about the wifi connection issue, 1st they will try to solve the problem through phone, if still cant be solve, they will send a technician to come over to solve the issue.

But it depend on the tech whether to change for you and whether they got the C5 on hand

For my case. when the tech come over to solve my phone line issue, i told the tech that the Dir-850L coverage not good, then he just give me the C5.
*
During installation, I asked the technician whether they have C5.
He say they only left DIR-850L model. It was batch by batch.
It depends on what router TM gave them during that batch.
Hopefully the technician sent over do have stock for Archer C5 brows.gif
