Brand - anything with good/solid build quality
Budget - 2k -3k
Usage - office work and watching movies.
Preferred
- very long lasting battery - traveling 6-7 hours on bus every weekend.

- nice smooth keyboard
- fhd screen non touch
- size 13-15
- very good wifi connectivity

- i5/i7 or any other high performance processors

Preferred Brand - Thinkpad due to good typing feel. Had 3 from past until an Asus and Ideapad, simply dont gel. My personal issue
Budget - no limit.
Usage - Excel, heavy internet usage, occasional movie. Optional - rarely gaming but if can support dota 2 or minimum CSgo will be nice.
Preferred - light, lag free when multiwindow during online. 12' to 14' acceptable, SSD. Durable for 5 years.

Eyed on x1 carbon but Msia is selling 3rd gen while US alrdy selling 4th gen. X250 seems ok but im open to other Thinkpad series.
Other concern is XXX-u series processor meant for batt saving, but can they support gaming as stated above?

looking for a laptop, just for normal use (watch movie, online etc) + dota 2 (possible with highest quality setting).

Just use at home, budget around rm3000... Don't want easily get overheat one especially when playing dota 2.

Hi LYN sifus,  having a dilemma here so need some advice:
- 14" or smaller FHD (prefer 13")
- 4gb ram or more
- NO optical drive (nid to cut down weight)
- Budget around RM 3000

So far, have these choices:
- asus zenbook ux305 CA
- asus k401ub
- lenovo ideapad 710s
- acer aspire s13

Personally,  it's for college in business course stuff, but I will use it for entertainment and light gaming  ( civilisation v or Insurgency, so requirements not really that high? Btw, insurgency fans come add me please, my steam name same as this LYN acc name)

Oh yeah I forgot about hp envy 13 😅😅😅

recommend me some laptops as my acer v3-471g is just too heavy to carry around and it is getting slower day by day . my usage contribution would primarily be for college work as I'm gonna start my degree in few weeks . some laptop I've been eyeing :
1) dell xps13 ( cant seem to find the 8gb i5 non touch version)
2) hp envy ( many complain about screen bleed)
3) ux305 (trackpad issues solved?)

I kinda like xps 13 for it's infinite bezel-less display    but it is kind of way over my budget but I would like to keep an open mind and receive few other suggestion that might not be in my list listed above . A thank you in advance for your help.

Good day to all the SIFUs here. 

I am currently looking at my Macbook Pro 13" replacement.  Been using it for 2 years for work and Dota 2 but really don't like it.  Now thinking of switching back to Windows.

My basic requirement:

1) For work + gaming (only Dota 2) + Minor Photoshop/Illustrator/Video Editing
2) Preferably SSD 256GB
3) 8GB RAM
4) NVIDIA GPU
5) Screen Size 13" and above
6) Battery life MUST BE on par with my MacBook Pro, 4-5 hours WIFI at least.
7) NO Optical drive
8) Decent build quality, doesn't have to be like MacBook but at least not that plastic feel.
9) Less than 2KG

My budget is RM4000 - RM4500. 

Need your humble recommendation.

Im looking to buy a new laptop..I'm kinda not so good at technical aspects, not yet anyway, so any recommendation is much appreciated.

1. I want a notebook that has zippy performance, especially when multitasking,so I guess 1 with 8GB to 16GB RAM and SSD should be what I'm looking for.

2. I don't really game alot,just I need to run code editors and similar software alot,i'm learning how to do software programming.

3. My budget is arnd RM4k...cheaper better but pay peanuts and get monkeys rite =P

4. A big screen and at least 1920x1080 resolution wud be nice, but I can always extend the display to an external monitor.

5. Prefer it to be easily customizable,, parts easy to swap and upgrade. So I can keep it running for at least 5 years.

6. Battery life and weight are not so important as performance, since I plan to use it as a desktop with the very occassional moving about.

Acer aspire e15 e5-575g-538L i56200 u sold 2099 at lazada is it a good deal. Or can we get better deal with this budget.? Please  advise. My budget is actually belo 2k and mostly for my wife doin his office work. Screen 13-15 inch
