I hardly play games actually..Like my current desktop rig..Just once in a blue moon I login skyrim when I have nothing to do.

I kinda like the look of the rog tho. but not sure if its worth the extra couple hundreds.
*
if u play kinda demanding games.... 950m is not really worth it..
thats mean your requirement doesn't really need i7.... i5 will do.. what we really need is huge amount of ram, better ssd/m2sata...

do dell, hp, asus which more reliable?
*
dell > asus > hp in terms reliability

2years+ mobo died.. not normal.. i have acer counting coming 7 years kicking.. still looks pretty good... my Asus x42de died after 5 yrs usage due to pretty heavy usage.. on 24/7, low specs notebook but running heavy apps.... sweat.gif

Actually I realize the GPU takes bulk of the cost.

For eg:

Acer E5-575G-52H9 Laptop/ i5/ 4GB DDR4/ 1TB/15.6 Inch/ W10/ Black. Similar specs to 7566 except GPU - Nvidia GeForce 940MX 2GB. RM2299  shocking.gif

so with 7566 I'm getting 960m 4gb for the additional RM1.2k?
*
acer cpu is i5 ulv.... not same. 7566 is quad core i5

Will upgrade self-DIY dell laptop to SSD & ram void warranty?
*
which series? i dont think it will void the warranty.. but,

for changing hdd to ssd, you will just void the warranty on the HDD... if i not mistaken.. but.. its no harm.. easy to upgrade as well and depends with the series of the notebook

Hi, currently Dell offer RM1199 for Inspiron 15 3000 Celeron Processor N3060 and RM1399 for Pentium Processor N3700... Is it worth to pay RM200 more to get N3700 compare to N3060?
*
N3700 - older but quad core type
N3060 - newer but dual core

if there is no sticker in any one of those screw... it should be ok... but if there is thats the difficult part. either ask them to do it for you and you had pay extra. but it seems pretty difficult if you not familiar with dell enclosure bottom.
the video as belows i believe same model as yours. so u might take a look

Dear all, appreciate your suggestions.

1. Preferred brand: nope

2. Usage: light gaming (dota 2), sometimes need to use adobe illustrator to do some editing work. Not sure if its relevant but my daughter may use it to learn video editing (she is 9)

3. Requirement: at least 14 in', at least 128GB SSD.

4. Budget: expecting 2.5k to 3k, but can increase up to 3.5k if certain model offers good value

thanks in advance!
*
your daughter, 9 play dota 2? shakehead.gif
its Moba.. so, getting heavy actually.. not really light..

you can consider this
Dell Vostro 14 V5468-50814G-W10 (i7-7500U, 8GB, 1TB, NV 940MX gddr5, W10H). roughly around 3.4 and below

For ssd, no need worry much. win10 load quite decent...
hyper threading helps in video editing...
and its pretty light.. so... maybe its suitable for her...

Hi..
Asking for opinion regarding laptop, already have a desktop so just want a small laptop to bring around for work/ PowerPoint presentation . Nothing fancy line gaming or video editing.
Budget: cheaper the better, nothing more than 3k (want to use this year income tax allowance)
Size: 11 or 13 inch or even 14 screen.
Weight: the lesser the better. Ultraportabilty is the main requirement
Storage: small HDD is ok , can use USB drive. SSD is an option

Saw something like Dell Inspiron 11 3000, any other options?

Thanks
*
can consider this
Asus TP301U-JDW053T VivoBook Flip 13.3" i5-6200U, 4GB, 1TB, NV 920M, W10H 1.5 kg
Acer Aspire S 13 S5-371-52UK i5-6200U, 4GB, 128GB, Intel, W10H 1.3kg
Dell Inspiron 13 5378T-2041SG-W10-FHD-SSD 2-in-1 i5-7200U, 4GB, 128GB, Intel, W10H 1.7kg

dell is quite good too.. but you can check others. lighter than dell. and its just 13". if you doing your work with it, if you dont have any issue with small screen and see small words. then, dell is good option, maybe want consider others as well..
