Received Oreo update this afternoon. Kinda late but overall satisfied.

My Moto Z just got Oreo update today. My Moto Z play still on 7.1.1 :-(

from super lag become very smooth phone. almost bought new phone before receving the update. super satisfied.

u applied the update using adb method or it came via OTA?

also can u share your SOT after the update please? i bought this phone via a 2nd hand seller and applied the update not too long after so i don't have chance to compare the SOT of the previous OS.

Currently i am getting 2hours+ of screen on time, and it seems a bit short given the reputation of the Z play being a battery beast. Some forum reports that they get 6-7 hours on nougat. Wounding if my unit is faulty.

hi was reading back your old post on the incipio battery mod with wireless charging. I am planning to get one and would like to know if this a recommended mod as i read on other forums and reviews the the battery is not as lasting and some reported that it stopped working after months.

How is your unit so far after close to 1 year?

got it thru OTA. the sot on nougat was around3-4 hours minimum. let me confirm on my oreo by the end of the day but should be around the same.

my SOT for today. 95% on wifi, 5% mobile data

nice. i just had my last result. from 80-40%, around 4 hours SOT. i guess that is ok right?

btw, anyone knows of any special mode to test all functions of the phone? i tried keying *#*#4636#*#* which i saw online, but that just force close the phone app.

I brought moto z from DirectD last week. May I know which contact number should I call to verify the 2nd Year Extended Warranty. I call 1-800-817032 but they cant answer my question.

I've 2 Moto Z, 2 Moto Z Play and recently Moto Z2 Play.

The latter died one day. When battery is 40%, phone will shutdown. Another Moto Z will auto throttle when CPU is hot to 700MHz. As a result, phone with be super slow. Slower than Moto Z Play.

Regretted buying Moto Z. Any high tech function is useless once CPU heats up and auto throttle down to 700MHz. Heck, even GPS also slow.

Putting both for sale. 1 will sell cheap2. Another will sell below market or trade with another Moto Z2 Play.

Mine moto z also sometimes becomes slow when hot...but just for a few seconds but no problem

My moto Z already change new battery 6 month ago at moto service centre lowyatt.
Until now my moto Z zero problem and using oreo is smooth like butter.
I have moto Z and moto Z2 play by the way.
For me no other phone is so simple except moto.
Maybe other people have different opinion, but for me simplicity triumph everything.

I sold 1 Moto Z after the battery kaput. Decided against of repairing it because still have another Moto Z. I prefer using both Moto Z Play and Moto Z2 Play now. Battery and performance top notch. Never slow down or lag unlike Moto Z. SD820 still inheriting thermal throttle bugs from SD810.

I agree, moto Z plague with deprecated battery,but moto global keep silence and refused to address.
The best solution is to change new battery at service centre and the price is bit expensive. Heck this is only way to prolong my moto Z.
Compare moto Z with Moto Z2 play in terms of battery is like apple and mellon. Moto Z2 play can last me solid 8 hours with Bluetooth and LTE enable, streaming music all the time
Now i using moto Z2 play as daily driver and moto z as game phone with moto gamepad attached.
