Why can't they just have the official Lego.com here? Sigh.

Anyone know how to buy from Lego.com and reship to Malaysia using freight forwarding?

I tried hopshopgo once to ship the 10937 Arkham Asylum set once (when it was first released, wasn't sure if Malaysia was gonna bring it in back then)

Not sure if its worth it considering the shipping and the current exchange rate. But if money is not an issue for you, you can try them. You won't be able to buy directly from Lego.com since it checks if your credit card was issued in the US, but you can get hopshopgo to buy it for you (just give them the link)

No, I read from some Singapore forums that people there have had bad experiences with Vpost.

I think I've gotten lazy when ordering stuff internationally because
a) Customs - Taxation (I haven't ordered stuff internationally since GST was implemented, so not sure how the tax calculations are done).
First time I got it was 10 % (because Fedex doesn't print the shipping total on the item, so Customs assigned their own shipping) If this happens to you and you order from the US, the value of your item cannot exceed RM 120, because the shipping that Customs sets for items from the US is RM 380.

2nd time I got taxed 30% because the seller declared the item as plastic material (they were action figures), which falls under a different category. I just rejected the shipment and the seller refunded the total.

b) Local postage - after the item reaches Malaysia, our local post office doesn't always deliver immediately/gets lost (some of the items I order internationally had a stamp that it was released from Customs about 5 weeks ago, but that it goes to the postal service and sits there)

Thanks for sharing. I just bought using Maybank card direct from Lego US. No issue. They just verify for US address. Had my colleague brought it back for me. With box open of course for own build.
