With my P98, the speed is acceptable for just a 3g network

At home
[attachmentid=7504474]

At work
[attachmentid=7504475]

Are you sure that is on 3G network? It's really good and reliable for your area.

Nice. thumbup.gif

Well, its these kind of services provided which makes customers flock to UMobile. They should know better. If Umobile is without such features, there would not be any reasons to be staying with them.
*
This is why UM does all of this. The promotions, offers, rewards, all to compete with big telcos.

found out the hard way. if your number is inactive and you receive credits shared to you, you will not get free minutes and will not be able use free data after reactivation. to me, umobile's new credit sharing is useful only when i want to extend my expiring number.

not sure if paid data will work. if paid data is not working too, then they could have fixed the known bug that allows umi and mb data to continue working during grace period.

ported out one of my umobile numbers yesterday only to find they launched credit sharing today. i was originally filled with regret. now i'm glad i did port out smile.gif

Ya i know. It still show umobile 2g. But actually connected to maxis 2g.
With roaming off yes.
*
You're right. THere's no turning on roaming mode needed. The tower just allowed Maxis and UM users to connect automatically

Ok la... 1GB is quite good already.

I have never used prepaid before. Just wanna confirm, how do the validity works. Lets said today is the final day, I reload today and lose 1 day or I can reload the next day?
Thinking wanna use this one and then resell the credit to the foreign workers in my work place 50% off.
*
Validity doesn't stack up unless your credit has expired. For example: you topup RM10 to get 10 days of validity. If you topup another RM5 while your credit is valid, your validity is still following the RM10.

just top up RM20 and use the free 1GB high speed quota first, on day 19 subscribe to UMI20 and you can continue to use the data for another 20 days
remember you will still need to use up the UMI before consuming the free data, so subscribe wisely
*
Good idea.. Never though about that rclxms.gif

eh sorry, actually is 30 days as long as your 1.5GB + 500MB is still available~
*
Day 1: Topup RM20, valid 'till Day 20
Day 19: Buy UMI20(or anything) so that can use data for 30 days
Day 20: Account passive???
Day 49/50: End of UMI
After Day 49/50: Topup RM20 and repeat

So, can be like this? RM20 that can last for 50 days?

I think it's just depends on the certain area that particularly rural area but nowadays celcom had upgraded
their services in developing the communication all around the world. It's also includes more free data to enjoy such as
internet burung hantu and get 10% less for every reload via 11 street apps besides FREE 500MB Social Chat every
month with free basic internet. Is that more than enough already laa.  thumbup.gif  brows.gif

Not 500MB social chat, but 500MB basic internet

for those who still questioning whether must on or off the data roaming in order to get better coverage and the answer is YES
i'm now at Bintulu whereby the u mobile signal is sucks at H+ and sometimes drop to Maxis E or G when data roaming is off
but when i on back the data roaming, i can easily get the Maxis 4G as well, yes, it is Maxis 4G!!!
so it is up to you whether you want to on or off your data roaming even for domestic roaming partner like Maxis or not, for me, i will always on it unless i travel overseas, i will manually off it before i goto airplane mode
*
nonsense! UM and Maxis partnership is just on all 2G tower network and 1k 3G tower network only. Either system bug or you'll charged with roaming charges.. Don't complain if you have experience spike price or slow connections.

I was with Celcom team when Apple approached us when they about to launch Iphone 6/6 Plus.

Well, they have promised to their customers that iPhone 6/6 Plus gonna save battery life more afterall.

So technically, telcos need to adhere to their extra requirement, so many configurations need to be tweaked and fine tune, mainly the DRX (to 80ms if u are interested biggrin.gif).

Samsung seems to be OK with the default setting though.

That's what happening behind the scene. smile.gif

That's quite good to know. Any other info? I like those details biggrin.gif

The worse part is most of the telcos also doing the same promotion as the Xpax Turbo.
So, theres nothing that makes Xpax Turbo special or different when compared to other telcos.
Whether the Internet Burung Hantu that have certain limit which 333MB, i dont think this is quite
good enough when other telcos gives more than this.

QUOTE(jasonkoh123 @ Oct 13 2016, 11:47 PM)
for me i prefer xpax turbo, becoz it provides 10gb free internet data per month during 1am to 7am
somemore got free 200mb high speed internet data upon activation.

Bullshit. Video Onz is capped at 1.5Mbps and Youtube will automatically uses 480p if resolution are set as auto. You could run Full HD but you probably spend more time buffering than watching.

First, Youtube's 'auto' means YT will choose the resolution according to your connection quality.
QUOTE
To give you the best viewing experience possible on your computer, YouTube adjusts the quality of your video stream from standard definition (such as 240p or 360p) to high definition (720p or 1080p), based on the speed of your Internet connection (bandwidth).
Source: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/91449?hl=en

Then, U Mobile DOES NOT cap your speed. They cap your quality.
QUOTE
With Video-Onz, the videos you stream are optimized at standard definition video resolution. Our Video-Onz partners will adjust the video resolution for optimum video streaming experience on your mobile device.

Youtube adjust resolution automatically because the speed is capped so why don't you try to load at HD resolution? You are saying this because you had no idea about how Video Onz works.
*
There is NO speed cap applied. Just quality cap that UM has set with its partners.

The speed seems to be capped is because Youtube has a way to delivery you a cache version of video. In order to serve millions, YT have to deliver some parts first.

It is called Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP.
