Yeah, you're right. I've heard DiGi and Celcom are capable of Fast Dormancy and I find myself wondering about UMobile. Well, for smartphone however, there is always custom rom so I would not really worry on that plus with Android, you can just edit the build.prop for the Fast Dormancy option.
*
I was with Celcom team when Apple approached us when they about to launch Iphone 6/6 Plus.

Well, they have promised to their customers that iPhone 6/6 Plus gonna save battery life more afterall.

So technically, telcos need to adhere to their extra requirement, so many configurations need to be tweaked and fine tune, mainly the DRX (to 80ms if u are interested biggrin.gif).

Samsung seems to be OK with the default setting though.

That's what happening behind the scene. smile.gif

Pls dun use taqua apk for all redmi devices...
We have tested almost all redmi devices and it lag all the time
Tat is one of the reason that um still not live it yet.

And i also wonder y um so stubborn want to launch for all devices even though they know that this can be stopped by playstore that limit certain devices list to use it
doh.gif
*
android dun hv native app that's the problem. need a lot of tests and once got problems, difficult to isolate.

iphone hv it bundled in their ios software, much easier.

They already introduced VoLTE for iPhones lah.  biggrin.gif
*
not yet. for volte on iphones, u need a special bundled software from apple customized for that telco's carrier, only after the telco meet all the requirements. smile.gif

Yes. Sad indeed. Checked with the umobile center at Times Square the agent at the desk said no plans to extend data backpack after Dec 31 2016
*
i hv no idea why. data backpack is good.

but it is well known that roaming traffic utilization is quite low.

Where u get the info that utilization low?
For UM, even before datapack launch, the utilization is 80%
One day after datapack launch, the utilization straight to 100%
That is y many ppl cant use it at 3g roaming as all 4g roaming users (esp singapore ) stuck thr.

Now, i duno. But should b above 90%
*
let just say i'm able monitor the utilization directly. smile.gif

while not the lowest, it's still manageable.

the other traffic least of concern is from mvno.

btw, the trunk is shared by many other services, and seeing the promo ending this year, i dun think it gonna see upgrade soon.
