4G is their own network. 3G most of them, but still got few areas sharing with Maxis.

2G they totally DR to Maxis.

my mom is currently using her old digi prepaid (no free data).

Since she just change a smartphone, now wanted to look for simple prepaid with free data, for her Whatsapp + Facebook usage.

Is the u-mobile UMI-20 sufficient? I saw by reloading rm20 monthly, can get 1.5GB free data, 20 mins free call to other network, and free call to u-mobile line too.

It's good to be 'off-the-grid' for a while.

umobile got two plan, one is power prepaid one is new prepaid plan.

power prepaid RM1=1DAY validity
u have to reload rm30 per month in order to make ur account stay active and you will get free 1GB every month

u can purchase UMI20 plan which has 1.5GB + 1GB (power prepaid plan) +20mins calls

credit left : RM10 ,pay RM30 each month.

or

new prepaid RM1= 2day validity
reload RM40 for 80 days
purchase umi 20 plan for 2month 1.5GB +20mins call.

credit left 0,pay RM20 each month

if ur mum is light user u can go for new prepaid plan which offer longer validity and cheaper value.

based on my opinion, they will take their sweet time to expand coverage nationwide before their sharing ran agreement end with maxis.. i think maxis will not continue the contract with them like celcom did...

I don't see this New Prepaid plan in U-Mobile website?

Also those UMI20/30/40 is not standalone prepaid plans ? From the way you describe it looks like a add-on package ?

Power Prepaid is a prepaid plan. Same for New Prepaid Plan.
UMI is an add-on package.

Power Prepaid's feature:
-Free 1GB data + 2GB basic data every month
-1x validity
-6 sen/30 sec
-8 sen/SMS to All Network
-Free calls to U Mobile are 15 mins

New Prepaid Plan's feature:
-RM0.20/MB
-2x validity
-10 sen/30 sec
-3 sen/SMS to U Mobile & 8 sen/SMS to Other Network
-Free calls to U Mobile are 30 mins

Both prepaid plans can buy UMI. UMI can be used even in inactive periods.
UMI has many options. Let's say UMI20.

UMI20's feature:
-Price: RM20
-Validity: 30 days
-1.5GB data + 500mb VideoOnz + Unlimited MusicOnz
-Free calls to All Network are 20 mins(can carry forward for upto 2x the allocated minutes)

12GB all-day quota. Free 20GB for off-peak period (2am-8am).

P/S: I advice you to wait for new changes next yr. P98 offering is better

yes there is no more credit to make call if u exceed the free minutes, but u can top up a specific amount at the begining to make calls after you consume all the free minutes. it is the cheaper option when u use new prepaid plan if your mum do not need so much data.

Any prepaid plan with UMI add on, the call rate will be at 6sen /min

btw can i change plans..to P98 ?

they have been a long time didnt update their broadband offer.

P98 so nice they..but can i use it into my modem MIFI? cause need use for internet only..
