I think iPhone LTE activation more complicated than other device. This is Apple thing.

QUOTE(dgboy @ Jun 25 2016, 12:02 PM) UM helpline 1318 from U number not surprised. before the launch of iphone 6/6s, Apple sent technical requirement to the telcos, which they must adhered to. I think iPhone LTE activation more complicated than other device. This is Apple thing. normally it's quite different from other phone manufacturers. |

Anyone know how to activate the 4G LTE signal for Umobile prepaid line? I notice that I only getting 3G or H+ signal for almost 1 week since I bought the New SIM Pack. No matter where I go, included Sunway Pyramid, KL Sentral, PJ and etc I only manage to get 3G or H+ signal.
By the way, I didnt purchase any internet pass, I am using the free 1GB high speed internet after top up for RM30. PS: My phone is 4G enable phone, no issue to get 4G signal with Celcom or Hotlink sim . |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jun 25 2016, 10:39 PM) so you're saying non-Apple phone manufactures share the common technical requirements? 1 for all companies? not quite. in other words, it's extra requirement by Apple. Other manufacturers just stick to standard value recommended by 3GPP. So the telco's device team has to inform the network planning to configure the required parameter. For example, Apple request the DRX value to be 40ms. This value is related to signaling during ur phone inactivity/idle. It is to prolong the battery life. On the network-side, this is why iphone has good battery life, apart from user-side efforts. (kill apps which we dont use). Hope this explains. |

That's why they sold non-4G enabled iPhones up to the date 4G introduced in Malaysia last time. Kesian expensive phone tapi speed 3G je, when cheap China phones were getting 4G.No wonder their device is higher sought after & premium pricing. u get what u pay for |
