A lot of stuff is missing.

Panoramic sunroof,
Blind Spot Detection,
Rear Cross Traffic Alert,
Lane Departure Warning System,
360° Around View Monitor,
Ventilated Front Seats,
Adaptive Cruise Control Function,
10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat with 4 Way Electric Lumbar Support and Integrated Memory System
and OEM Navigation system with Infinity Premium Sound System with 10 Speakers.

I wouldn't call it High Spec.

According to the principal, the target market is those Pick-up upgraders, so the price of around 150K plus should draw interest from this buyer segment. In addition, for company ownership, tax relieve is for cars priced at 150K and below.
This diesel variant is also targeting East Malaysia market, hence the rational in the choice of specs and pricing offered.

Will option be available to upgrade the Diesel variant i.e.

i) Reverse Camera
ii) Smart Parking Assist (not really that important but can't figure out why they take out)
iii) What IpohLad mention in his post, but I won't compare as those are overseas specs

Was really looking forward to the Diesel variant, maybe just stick with my Forte 2.0SX for now ha ha

For now, Diesel variant spec is as what it is, specs are not upgradedable, unless going thru 3rd party, which may affect the warranty.

Yes, but you get a very competitive price for the 2.2 Diesel model. Some buyers will go for price, others will go for specs.

It is not just KIA but most other car manufacturer also questioned the suitability of B10 biodiesel in their diesel engine. There has some argument that the negative effects of B10 is more of an issue in temperate climates than a tropical country like ours.

MAA is pushing for the government to provide B7 biodiesel as an alternative to B10, since they are still many unknown long terms effects of the B10. Only time will tell how this will pan out. Going green and promoting our country's palm oil usage and value is one thing, subjecting the car engines to potential damage at the expense of car users is another.

That is right. Although MBA (Malaysian Biodiesel Association) claims having carried out test trials on a few engines locally on B10 with no detrimental effects. Would you dare believe them.

Not only would I run the risk of loosing warranty, more importantly my engine gets cooked!

What a load of crape! Just as we begin to experience some excellent diesel technology! This is going to kill intro of new green diesel engines to this country. All cos crony hands are in the pie!

I also considering both. Not sure which one to choose.
Currently outlander discounted kow2 up to 9 k - salesman told me. The main problem Outlander has only one aircond blower. Not suitable for our climate. One of my friend bought this car n have to use usb fan. Outlander from afar look like a wagon to me rather than SUV.

Already test drive sorento diesel n petrol. Diesel cekap with full of torque but with almost no feature suggestive of a 150k car.
Petrol i think not so powerful. The engine is theta ii 2.4 mpi not the GDI type of engine that i think more powerful. I am contemplating to choose either diesel or petrol MS. I have done little research.Maintainence for 150k km the petrol maintainence is lesser by 3k.

I think if they follow full US spec, price will skyrocket. The problem with our country we are paying more than what we get. Anyway, waiting for better spec 2.2L diesel if ever to consider the sorento. Waiting for the Sedona first to see how is the spec & price.

Your point is precisely correct. There needs to be a balance between the selling price and the specs in order to cater for the mass market. From a manufacturer's point of view and business model, it is not viable to sell a fully spec-ed car equipped with the latest technology at a very high price, only to sell for limited quantities, which may not even justify the marketing cost.

Sorento HS is voted the Best Spec-ed SUV in Malaysia by Carsifu recently. Surely that speaks volume of what Kia Malaysia has offered for our market compared to other makes. Our country's exchange rate has not help much in this respect. It is easy to blame the manufacturer and accuse them of many things but they are far from the truth.

Those 2 are actually disclaimers
1) Naza Kia deserves the right to void or revoke the scheme if any of the other terms and conditions are breached. This is a common and fair statement.

2) Naza Kia deserves to discontinue the scheme without prior notice, which simply means, Naza Kia has the right to terminate/withdraw the offer at any time they want. At the moment, the offer is valid for new Sportage and Sorento purchased and registered from now until 31st December 2016. In event of a withdrawal of the scheme, all buyers who have placed their booking and registered their cars prior to the withdrawal date will STILL get this privilege. It doesn't mean to say that they deserve to cancel the whole scheme, irrespective of what has been committed for buyers who have already bought the cars, at the point the offer is still valid. Once the buyers enter into a contract, they are legal binding and a certificate will be issued to them.

Hope that explains. Thanks

KIA did not officially provide the FC figures, however this is what I got from the internet. Again, final FC depends on driving traits and road conditions, as such, this data is only an indication of the FC.

City 10.3 liter/100 km
Highway 7.5 liter/100 km
Combine 9.0 liter/100 km

Grey is unlikely to be introduced for Malaysian market. Kia Malaysia might launch the bronze color instead, but this is likely to happen only next year.

Damn sad. The diesel version should at least be offered as mid spec. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the diesel version if the specs are better. Features such as electric seat, electric tailgate, reverse camera, bluetooth connectivity, spare tyre are not included for the diesel version. I don't mind the rim size nor the fabric seat but the ones I listed are important to most potential buyers out there.

*
The diesel version was originally targeting those Pick-up upgraders, hence the price had to be set competitive and not too high. Kia Malaysia may introduce a higher variant for the diesel next year, so do stay tuned for updates.

Pleased to hear that Kia Malaysia will intro the higher variant for the diesel version next year. I hope the price will remain competitive and will not be as high as the current Santa Fe diesel version. Please PM me once you have any update regarding this new variant.

There is info/indication from KIA Malaysia that prices for Sorento and Sportage may increase by around 3K next year for year make 2017. Not sure what the final outcome is going to be, but for those who are considering to get the car but waiting for 2017 year make, this is something for you to ponder on.

Still waiting for it, no update yet at this moment. Some owners have chosen to take the LS variant, and upgrade the head unit (see enclosed photos ) and leather seats.

Unfortunately no, some of the features like auto/smart tail gate, side window sun-screen, 3rd row aircon, auto parking cannot be upgraded after market.
The current "bulb type " rear combination lamp for the LS variant can be changed to LED type, technically but it will be quite costly.

The photo is to illustrate the ICE cube fog lamps, not the bumper. This will be given as an upgrade kit, after delivery. The procedure has yet to be announced, but most likely, you will need to send your car to the appointed service or accessories center for installation.

It will be easier that KIA to introduce a Diesel premium variant, instead of add this add that. Afterall, any potential owner for such a huge vehicle, they are not looking at Petrol version, just check your sales figures.

How bad will the pricing be, why KIA is SO reluctant to do it ?

I concur with you. Pointless adding this & that as this could likely affect the warranty, you'll never know even though the sales person said otherwise...

I am clueless why they're not introducing the diesel mid spec variant at least...a lot of people are making noise about this specifically but Naza are not doing anything about it.. ignorant & stubborn...

Sigh..........................

Plan is underway to introduce a higher spec diesel model but it will take sometime, because the car is under a CKD (local assembly) program. If KIA brings in a fully imported model (CBU), it will be much faster but the price will shoot above the roof.

Pleased to share that Sorento 2.2 Diesel HS (High Spec) will be launched soon. The Retail price is RM 191,888 OTR

New color addition : Imperial Bronze (as photo below)
* High Torque Green Diesel Engine.
* Idle Stop & Go.
* Smart Parking Assist System
* Smart Power Tail Gate
* 19 Inch Chrome Alloy Wheels.
* Adaptive Front Light System.
* Smart Key with push start button
* Active Safety System - ABS/ESC/HAC
*
I have few questions about this model.

1. Can use any diesel or euro 5 only?
2. How does the idle stop and go function?
3. I saw this review; https://youtu.be/JuOCgcuxA7
About the second row seat. Is it possible to get the carnival rising seat? Easier to enter @ exit third row.
4. What is in the smart parking assist? 360° camera? Auto side parking?
5. Adaptive front light - as in the swivel spotlight?
6. Does it have a spare tyre or those repair kit?
7. Does it have a tonneau cover?

The Kia Malaysia Website does not show details of this version and the new awd sportage. Maybe you can ask someone to fix that.
Hopefully Kia can let online car sites review the diesel hs version.

Thank you.

Not advisable to use normal diesel on regular and prolong basis. I hope Euro 5 will be introduced in fuel stations in Kelantan soon.

Hi Guys, new to the forum. Any owner can share their review on the 2.2 diesel variant?

How is the Maintenance like for diesel car compared to petrol? and the 4x4 system, any special maintenance required?

For Kia, free service always mean Free Labour, Lubricant and Parts, although for some other makes, it is only free labour.
Navi is papago software.
Ice cube Fog lamps is for Sorento, not taken from Sportage. The ice-cube design started off with Optima K5 and many other KIA models also follow suit to have it , either as a standard (in overseas market) or available as add-on after market.

Some reviews from other social media sites

USER 1
Well, I have been a SUV user for the longest time- with the Toyota Harrier being my fave daily ride. I was sold on the Kia brand after getting a Forte SX many years back, and seeing how well it worked and in reliable terms all this while (spare parts seemed to be costlier than Toyota though). Just took possession of the Sorento CDRI HS, and it has been a great torque-y drive. I have no doubt it would be as reliable, if not more, than my Harrier over time.

USER 2
2.2 diesel gives out 440nm of torque...thats the pulling power you will enjoy when driving alone spirited or going up hill fully laden 😁 and if you adventurous enough, there is this race chip plug n play piggyback that will bump up your engine power to 520nm... you are now neck to neck with those german powerhouse and sure be a sleeper on the highway

Anyone else has anything to add?

Kia Ranks Highest among Brands for Second Consecutive Year

COSTA MESA, Calif.: 21 June 2017 — New-vehicle quality is at its highest level ever, improving a significant 8% from last year, according to the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Initial Quality Study,SM (IQS) released today.

Initial quality in this iconic study is measured by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the first 90 days of ownership, with a lower score reflecting higher quality. In this year’s study, quality improves across seven of the eight categories measured, with 27 of the 33 brands in the study improving their quality compared with 2016.

“Automotive manufacturers are responding to consumer feedback and producing vehicles of the highest quality,” said Dave Sargent, vice president, global automotive at J.D. Power. “The industry has improved significantly in each of the past three years. Today’s vehicles have more things that could go wrong but fewer things that actually do go wrong.”

Following are some of the study’s key findings:

Technology improving but still problematic: Audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN) remains the area where new-vehicle owners experience the most problems. However, this category shows the most improvement since 2016 with a score of 22.8 PP100, or 2.7 PP100 better than last year.
Early warning bells for autonomous technology: The only category to worsen this year is features, controls and displays. The largest increases in problems are for cruise control (primarily adaptive cruise); lane departure warning; collision avoidance/alert systems; and blind spot warning. These features comprise some of the building blocks of autonomous vehicles, and an increasing number of consumer-reported problems sounds warning bells for automakers and suppliers. Consumers will need to be convinced that these systems are foolproof before they will give up driving control to autonomous vehicles.
Domestic brands continue to show improvement: The “Detroit Three” outperform import brands for the second year in a row but for only the third time since the study was first published in 1987. In 2017, domestic brands receive a score of 93 PP100 compared with 99 PP100 for import brands. Last year, domestic brands also had fewer problems (103 PP100) compared with import brands (106 PP100).
“The Initial Quality Study continues to demonstrate the critical importance of automakers responding to consumer feedback regarding vehicle quality,” Sargent said. “Any automaker that stands still will quickly start to fall behind. For consumers, the great news is that significant improvements are occurring in all model segments, meaning that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a quality vehicle.”

Highest-Ranked Brands

Kia ranks highest in overall initial quality for a second consecutive year with a score of 72 PP100.

Genesis (77 PP100) ranks second overall followed by Porsche (78 PP100). Ford and Ram (86 PP100) tie for fourth.

MINI is the most improved brand, with owners reporting 33 PP100 fewer problems than in 2016. Other brands with strong improvement include Ram (28 PP100 improvement), Acura (19), Volvo (18) and Ford (16).

Segment-Leading Models

The parent company receiving the most model-level awards for its various brands is Hyundai Motor Co. (five model-level awards), followed by General Motorsand BMW, each with four.

Hyundai Motor Co. models that rank highest in their respective segments are the Kia Cadenza; Kia Forte; Kia Niro; Kia Sorento; and Kia Soul.
General Motors models that rank highest in their segments are the Chevrolet Silverado; Chevrolet Silverado HD; Chevrolet Sonic; and GMC Terrain.
BMW models that rank highest in their segments are the BMW 2 Series; BMW 4 Series; BMW X6; and MINI Cooper.
Other models that rank highest in their respective segments are the Chrysler Pacifica; Ford Expedition; Ford Mustang; Infiniti QX80; Lexus GS; Mercedes-Benz GLA; Nissan Frontier; Porsche 911; Porsche Macan; and Toyota Camry.

Plant Quality Awards

Toyota Motor Corp.’s Kyushu 2 plant (Japan), which produces the Lexus ES and Lexus RX, receives the Platinum Plant Quality Award for producing models with the fewest defects or malfunctions. Plant quality awards are based solely on defects and malfunctions and exclude design-related problems. General Motors’ Fort Wayne (Ind.) plant, which produces the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, receives the Gold Plant Quality Award for the Americas region, while Porsche’s Leipzig plant, which produces the Porsche Cayenne and Macan, receives the Gold Plant Quality Award for the Europe/Africa region.

Historical Notes

In 1987, when the IQS was first published, Mercedes-Benz ranked highest as a nameplate while the Toyota Cressida was the highest-ranked model.
Domestic brands have scored better than imports in only three years (2010, 2016 and 2017).
Mass market brands have scored better than premium brands in only three years (2006, 2016 and 2017).
There have been four generations of the study (IQS1: 1987-1997; IQS2: 1998-2005; IQS3: 2006-2012; IQS4: 2013-present). The industry has shown significant improvement in each iteration, with the best IQS scores occurring in the most recent year for each generation.
The U.S. Initial Quality Study is based on responses from nearly 80,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2017 model-year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership. The study is based on a 233-question battery organized into eight problem categories designed to provide manufacturers with information to facilitate the identification of problems and drive product improvement. The study was fielded from February through May 2017.

FL has not been launched yet in Malaysia, no one can confirm because nothing on the specs has been decided. But there is now a good offer for current Sorento 2.4 Petrol MS version (limited time, limited stock basis), kindly check my sales thread for more info.

Is the comparison here between the ls and hs correct?
https://www.carbase.my/car-comparison?id=Fr...VGXq,CFaWCDdcUw,

The ls is heavier and has auto start stop but the hs does not?

After the hu, leather seats and reverse camera upgrade for ls model, what other things which the hs has over the ls?
Super vision cluster, 19 " rim, power seats, 3rd row vents, 2nd row shades. Am I missing anything else?

LS & HS should be of more or less the same weight. ISG (Idle Stop & Go) is also available in the HS diesel.

HS extras are
1) Auto Tail gate
2) LED rear combination lamp
3) HID head lamp
4) Shark Fin antenna
5) 7 inch TFT Color LCD , LS one is 3.5 inch mono color
6) Bluetooth and voice command on steering in the HS
7) Rear windows sunshade blind
8) 3rd row aircon on HS , LS no 3rd row aircon
9) Power driver & front passenger seat on HS , LS is manual only
10 ) Auto up/down power windows (HS all windows, LS driver window only)

You can wait for the facelift if not urgent, or get the current version since they are giving good discount.

I believe the next round Kia brings in they will not be selling the LS model anymore and might just go with the MS or HS.

13xxxx for SUV with this size and power train, don't think it will ever happen for other brands especially in Malaysia.

1. Nice to have. Not sure if can retrofit after purchase.
2. This should be a simple swap with current lights right? I have seen the sorento forum where they are selling aftermarket led lights. http://www.kia-forums.com/#/topics/260353
3. Same with no. 2.
4. This is a simple upgrade. Just style. Not bothered about it.
5. I thought you provided hu upgrade? Or is this the meter cluster?
6. Have used it though not a fan of it especially when everyone in the car hear or wakes up.
7. Nice to have. Not sure if can retrofit. Only problem I see that will this thing become saggy after prolonged use? Another problem is that is it possible to replace. Small kids will pull this out.
8. Not a problem for me but I can see this is a deal breaker for people who use the 3rd row frequently.
9. Manual is fine as long as it has lumbar support. Does it have it?
10. As long as the driver has it, should be fine.

Why is the ls heavier than the hs? Should be other way round right?

Can you guys advice which parts from HS can be retrofitted into LS without voiding the warranty ?

By the way, will this Electric Tailgate Lift Assist System TL105 work on the Sorento UM. Will it void the warranty?

Depending on the variant. The Imperial Bronze is exclusive for the Sorento 2.2 Diesel HS only. Other variant only got Black, Silver and White, subject to stock availability. Diesel LS stock only left Black color.

Those are warning lights when seat belts are not fastened on each seat. There are 6 warning lights just above the climate control switch.

Single light (bigger than the others): Front Passenger Seat
Three in a row : Second row seats
Two in a row : Third row seats.

The seat belt warning light for Driver is on the Instrument Cluster

There is also an indicator on the right side, where you can turn ON/OFF the passenger airbag, in event when there is a child seat at the front.

My Pearl White Sorento 2.4 MS will be registered by tomorrow as i just cleared my choice of number at JPJ just now....

The specs says it is solar & acoustic glass wind shield, front solar glass and rear tinted glass . What does it mean ? Do i need to put another layer of tinted to have a cool effect to the SUV ? or additional dark tinted for cosmetic purposes only ?

Anybody can help ?

For solar glass, there is a certain degree of heat rejection property embedded into the glass but may not be enough due to our extreme hot weather.
Tinted glass , according to the manufacturer's defination simply means the glass come with a slight coloring and not 100% clear. This function mainly for aesthetics reason.

Do beware of JPJ ruling on VLT (Visible Light Transmission) when fixing additional tinting. Front windscreen 70%, Side windows (first row ) 50%, Other wide windows and rear windshield 30%.

Sorry, don't have the figures regarding the size of the low/high beams of the Sorento head lamps. Do not recommend you to change the HID after market because firstly, it is illegal because it has not been tested by JPJ and you may be fined during road blocks. Secondly, it may void your head lamp warranty.

VLT refers to Visible Light Transmission. It means how much light can penetrate the windows. Usually, VLT is NOT a measurement of quality of the tint because it is about the brightness , hence there is no BEST VLT. In fact, some prefer darker shades tinting for the sporty/glamour look, but one should always follow the JPJ ruling as suggested in my earlier post, and not go overboard.

For tinting, the parameter that is most important is the IRR % (Infra red Rejection) and TSER % (Total Solar Energy Rejected) and BTU (Basic Thermal Unit) which determines the amount of heat that enters the cabin thru the windows.

The other is of course the thickness (2,4,6,8 mil)which is a security feature that is shatter resistance, thus prevents of theft of items inside the car, and in the case of window breakage, minimizes the risk of injury to the occupant from the shattered pieces of broken glasses.

Low beam headlight = H7
High beam head light = H9

Is it correct? H7SPL ( for low beam headlight)
in the manual ... what the meaning if it? Anybody know?

Just wondering what kind of smartphone holder will work in the sorento? There is no cd player slot. The dash is textured. Window mounted?

Any idea when is the launch of the FL 2018 Sorento with 8AT ? Watched quite some youtube review, noted that the 8AT is quite an awesome upgrade. I meant the 2.2 Diesel Facelift car.

Already driven the Sorento HS Diesel for 2 weeks, this is my report card biggrin.gif

i) Driven around town, then from KL to Dungun, Terengganu and back using just one full tank. Total adds up about 800km. (actually still have about 60km or about a bar of fuel left before empty)
Forgot about the auto resetting so I couldn't snap a photo of the fuel consumption but it was at 6.4l/100km, for me which is quite decent. It definitely rivals my 2.0 Forte which registers almost the same in petrol consumption. Note though I was driving the Sorento at 90-100km/h

ii) Drove some parts through the old winding up hill roads to bypass heavy traffic Karak, and have not much problems there. Power was good. It was also during the night, I couldn't tell the difference of the adaptive cornering lights but it does look as if the path is lit up pretty well, not only directly in front but projected to the sides as well

iii) As it was raining quite hard due to the monsoon season, I was also on cruise control and encountered a few patches of water in the highway, which did feel a bit scary to the family but I am guessing the AWD handled it pretty well considering, but as long as you have a firm hold on the wheels. I did turn off the cruise control after that =)

iv) Even though it's a full size 7-seater SUV but when you are driving it, you don't really feel the size. Visibility around the car is clear throughout the front windscreen

v) Auto parking assist was a nice touch, which is also one of the reasons I got the HS version. At times I thought I was too near the adjacent cars and about to hit them while reversing but the parking assist did get the distance between the cars just right, but still, don't completely leave your foot of the pedal or accelerate too hard. The Smart Auto Smart Tailgate is also nice to have, but still can't get when it works. It does say it's a safety feature that the engine cannot be running while you open the boot.

Thanks again to Mr. Loh, which I have gotten both my Forte and Sorento from him. I started thinking of going for the Sorento pre-reg LS version but ended up with a car that I enjoyed. I would say I got both my cars at the right time and maximized the full value of it.

Actually Sorento has been my dream car since 2002. Yes it is since 15 years ago but I still can't afford a new one. I am thinking of getting a 2nd hand one which is 2013 model. May I get your expert input in:
1) Will 2013 model have aircond vent at the 3rd row, leather seat and reverse camera?
2) Is it easy to get spare parts and are the spare parts and car service price higher than other other cars?
3) Does this car give lots of problems compared to Toyota?
4) What is a estimated/ fair market value price of 2013 model?
5) Will I get 11km/L for normal town use
6) What is the key difference between petrol and diesel? Why people choose diesel over petrol and vice versa?

Thanks in advance 🙏

As a guideline, if you put in RM100 of fuel into the car, diesel can travel approximately 30% longer distance compared to petrol.
For maintenance, diesel engine will cost around RM500 more than a petrol engine on AVERAGE in ONE YEAR , assuming average driving mileage of 20,000 km each year.

Something to share on AUTO HOLD feature available in the Kia Sorento UM. This is usually not explained in detail to owners by SA during delivery, due to either poor understanding or time constraint:

KIA - AUTO HOLD FEATURE EXPLAINED
(available on Sorento, Optima JF, Sportage CRDi)

The Auto Hold maintains the vehicle in a standstill even though the brake pedal is not depressed after the driver brings the vehicle to a complete stop by depressing the brake pedal.

1.Depress the brake pedal and then press the Auto Hold button. The white AUTO HOLD indicator will come on and the system will be in the standby position. The driver's door, engine hood and trunk closed and the driver's seat belt must be fastened before EPB will work.
2.When you stop the vehicle completely by depressing the brake pedal, the AUTO HOLD indicator changes from white to green.
3.The vehicle will remain stationary even if you release the brake pedal.
4.If EPB is applied, Auto Hold will be released.

Leaving
---------
If you press the accelerator pedal with the shift lever in R (Reverse), D (Drive) or M (Manual) mode, the Auto Hold will be released automatically and the vehicle will start to move. The indicator changes from green to white.

WARNING
-----------
When driving off from Auto Hold by depressing the accelerator pedal, always check the surrounding area near your vehicle. Slowly depress the accelerator pedal for a smooth launch.

Cancel
--------
To cancel the Auto Hold operation, press the Auto Hold switch. The AUTO HOLD indicator will go out.
To cancel the Auto Hold operation when the vehicle is at a standstill, press the Auto Hold switch while depressing the brake pedal.

✽ NOTICE
------------
The Auto Hold does not operate when: The driver's seat belt is unfastened and driver's door is opened The engine hood is opened The trunk is opened The shift lever is in P (Park) The EPB is applied
For your safety, the Auto Hold automatically switches to EPB in such cases: The driver's seat belt is unfastened and driver's door is opened The engine hood is opened The trunk is opened The vehicle is in a standstill for more than 10 minutes The vehicle is standing on a steep slope The vehicle moved several times In these cases, the brake warning light comes on, the AUTO HOLD indicator changes from green to white, and a warning sounds and a message will appear to inform you that EPB has been automatically engaged. Before driving off again, press foot brake pedal, check the surrounding area near your vehicle and release parking brake manually with the EPB switch.
• If the AUTO HOLD indicator lights up yellow, the Auto Hold is not working properly. Take your vehicle to an authorized K900 Kia dealer and have the system checked.
• While operating Auto Hold, you may hear mechanical noise. However, it is normal operating noise.
WARNING

For your safety, cancel the Auto Hold when you drive downhill or back up the vehicle or park the vehicle.

CAUTION
-----------
If there is a malfunction with the driver’s door, engine hood or trunk open detection system, the Auto Hold may not work properly. Take your vehicle to an authorized Kia dealer and have the system checked.

Can't charge/connect my iPhoneX (even my old iPhone5S) to the in-car entertainment system. It detects then disconnects and detects and disconnects (and repeats till i unplug it). SO I cannot access it's 'Ipod media" function. Any ideas? And what about Apple's CarPlay?

I dont wish to know as I am not interested in diesel engine....mine is petrol and satisfied with the ride...its actually just our spare vehicles....not really interested in doing survey or whatsoever....vehicles is always a liabilities not an asset...the moment that you consider it as an asset, you actually cant afford to own that...

A lot of the reviews are dated back before 2010 and not recent CRDI engine reviews. Today, we have Euro 5 diesel , with very low sulphur content and problems highlighted in your link are things of the past.

To say that a car is a liability is too simplistic and to say "the moment you consider a car is an asset, you actually can't afford to own" is a bit too ignorant. A car is not a straightforward liability, it is an asset but a depreciating asset.

You can earn money through Uber from having a car, that means your car is an asset for you.

If you happened to have a car so rare that can be sold mutiple fold it's original price makes the car an asset to you.

So it really depends on why you have/purchase a car that'll define is the car a liability or an asset.

Under my personal balance sheet, car is under liabilities....if its happen become a little bit of value, it will be a bonus to me...car is always a mode of transportation to me...nothing more or less.....i dont do UBER and dont invest into antique car or whatsoever...different people have different opinion and i am not enforcing my opinion to others and its exclusively reserve to me only...

For 2.4 Petrol, there is a package with Free 3 Years service (60,000 km). It all depends on the total discount that you are getting. Because some buyers opt to convert the free 3 years service package to cash discount of RM 4000 instead. Do PM me for the latest offer, if you keen. Rgds.

I am seriously considering the Sorento 2.4MS butneorry about the following cost in the long run:
1. 2.4L engine high fuel consumption?
2. Higher road tax
3. Cost of replacing 19 inch tyres

Anyone here has the above information?

Can anyone give any comments in terms of the 2.4 (petrol) engine version? I tested the 2.2 CRDI last weekend, was very impressed with the power but I'm not a fan of the diesel engine sound.

Unfortunately there was no 2.4 version to test. just wondering in terms of power, is it sufficient or does it feel under power?

Really appreciate the response.

Thanks!

The main difference between HS and MS are
1) Smart parking assist
2) HID lamp with adaptive light system with auto leveling
3) Front passenger seat - Auto adjustment.
4) 7 Inch TFT Color LCD on supervision cluster (vs 3.5 inch on MS)

Presently, the discount structure for MS makes it a much better deal than the HS.

You need to provide further details on your concerns....if you could flip thru couple of pages ago...we had similar discussion as well.

Is 2013/14 worth it?....definitely yes; parts are easily available at out side shop, at LYN garage section, there are parts sellers as well.

you could also read here on some recent discussion and mileage, etc

Looking for Sorento rear entertainment system for your family while on your road trips? Now there is a solution

Options to watch DVD through a single source from the front upgraded head unit
or
Watch DVD individually though the dedicated DVD player on each screen.

As we all know, the new government has pledged to abolish GST and replace it with SST (sales and service tax). Although, the plan is to make this change within the first 100 days, it is quite unlikely to happen due to the many challenges, a fact attested to by Dr Zeti Aziz, the ex-governor of the Central Bank and a member of Council of Elders appointment by new PM

Due to the uncertainty of how this change might affect new car pricing, many buyers are holding back their purchases. In response, Naza Kia Malaysia has released a statement and a guarantee to all new Kia car purchases after 10th May 2018 that should the car price reduces due to changes in the tax structure, Naza Kia Malaysia will reimburse them with additional FREE service as a form of compensation.

However, there is also a possibility that the price might increase after the abolishment of GST. Therefore, car buyers would not loose out in both scenarios.

In actual fact, when the country implemented 6% GST on 1st April 2015, car prices in Malaysia generally reduced by 1-3 %. Therefore, one can deduce, if the country reverts back to the 10% SST and other factors remain unchanged, car prices should increase back by the same rate.

Diesel HS is almost sold out nationwide. You should quickly get in touch with your local dealer urgently if you want the diesel variant.

Congrats on your new car. Android auto is good and will enable you to use waze / google GPS and many other apps. What other functions to you expect or want to have for your head unit. There are choices of aftermarket head units available for upgrade if you want (see attached photos ).

Because the smart parking system is not smart biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

To look at it in relative terms, to make the product competitive, they added quite a few things which is quite expensive (LED stuff and 8 speed gearbox), something got to go to give way to those. Of course, this is on the presumption that the price after facelift is competitive.

There won't be an official launch, because this is just a facelifted model. It is a matter of just waiting for the physical units to arrive at showrooms, expected to be sometime by 2nd week of next month (oct) at earliest. Those who can place the booking fast, will get priority to the delivery of stocks.

Those stocks are semi KD (semi knock down ) basis. They need time to assemble, inspection and endorse with custom. Not to mention that they need the government approval on the price since this is a face-lift version. There was a sudden surge in demand during the tax holiday that by the time Kia Malaysia ordered new stocks from Korea, they could not ensure continuous supply.

* IMS (Integrated Memory Seat) - Driver's Seat + Outside Mirror Setting memory
* Wireless Smartphone Charger
* Ice Cube Fog Lamp
* New combination Rear Lamp
* 8-Speed for Diesel Variant
* R18 Inch rims (machine Polished) - no longer 19 inch

I thought in the memo it said 19 inch still ? Only 2.4 petrol downgrade to 18 inch

The pictures above showing a tachometer of up to 8,000 RPM, so this is a petrol car.

Yes, you are right. Petrol variant is on 18 Inch wheels, Diesel variant is on 19 Inch (machine polish finishing, not chrome)
Pictures shown are petrol variant , as per the rim design.

For Sorento, better just choose between Black, White or Graphite Platinum (Grey).

I took Black wink.gif

If you intend to mod with TUON accessories, white is looking good too smile.gif

If you are those who do not wash car frequent, just take Graphite Platinum

That's why the best still Black or White.

The only reason I did not choose white is that I don't like the elevated rear look since the cladding is in black color. The car looks unnecessary jacked up. The white front is looking nice.

So, black for me. And my car is no longer "KIA" on the second day after I took delivery tongue.gif

I prefer espresso though not favor this color but black n white alrdy too common. Silver looks hmm.. Not sure how to say it but doesnt match to me. Platinum graphite like honda color scheme that I dislike the most.

There is other color called metal stream. It looks very nice to me. Should bring this color. Red also nice.

Still undecided that's why.. not much about the budget but was waiting to see the x70 and test drive it along with others.. space is what am looking at hence the sorento still takes first place.
Am wondering why I have seen a few used units for sale on carlist as it's still a new stock for 2017.

Are there issues which owners haven't shared yet that those of us wanting to buy haven't known of yet?

This is my concern and thanks for replying.. I have been reading everywhere about the car and just found out it does not use spark plugs for the diesel unit.. so much more to learn...

I like that they had included the wireless charging, but it would have been more practical maybe to have it upright on dashboard or windscreen, since most of us using it for waze, driving, etc

The Sorento head unit is already equipped with android auto/apple car play, so you can connect your Waze or google map from your smart phone to the head unit.

I do have android unit on my sorento as well (after market hu), hence i could pair my waze or use the waze on hotspot wifi, but in practicality, I use on my phone, since its at eye length while the HU plays movies for the passengers smile.gif

No. Free service (if any) is only offered for a brand new car, when you purchase directly from an authorised Kia outlet. 5 Years warranty with unlimited mileage starts from the registration date of the new car. It can't be purchased.

There are some insurance companies that offer some sort of warranty protection for used cars but the terms and conditions are very strict, you may want to check with a few insurance companies on that.

I presume, you are getting the sorento from a used dealer? Then just fix an appointment with Kia SC to have the car checked. It will cost around rm80 or so.

As for warranty you need to checkout 3rd party, Kia doesnt offer extended warranty to my knowledge, like the European cars.

I intend to purchase a 2nd hand Kia Sorento 2017 model. May I know if this model has less problems compared to the earlier ones? My mechanics says he has repaired many Sorento with serious problems and discourage me from owning one. But I hope 2017 mode

The quality of Sorento XM model 2.4 petrol as per photo sbelow has improved by leaps and bound compared to the diesel variant of the first generation. Your mechanic must have referred to the first generation Sorento, as there weren't many XM being sold, so much so, that he had repaired many of them.

This XM 2.4 Model launched in Malaysia in what year? Reason is I have a certain budget range and can’t afford newer ones. Thanks ya. I am currently driving a Mazda CX-5 and what would be the significant aspect from switching over to Sorento e.g. maintenance, price of parts, wear and tear, common problems, pro-cons etc.

For Sorento 2.4 Petrol, the average maintenance cost for over 5 years is around RM 1500 per year, assuming you service the car 2 times in year (every 6 months or 10,000 km interval)

Hi Veejay, I have been advised to avoid buying Sorento as the experience from car service center is they see more problems with Sorento then any other models that they have come across. They also justify by saying that is the reason the 2nd hand value is reduced by 50% just into year 4. So it kind of frighten me as cost of maintenance is one thing but having to live without cars could be a nightmare.

*
Hmm interesting, did they mention what kinda problem?

Kia had always been on a bad RV in Msia, so thats a given fact.

Moreover SUV market price is even worse, and thats a fact.

But when you look at actual numbers, their price reduction aint that bad...its just market perception.

Lets Look at available D segment (2014 model)
Mazda CX-9 rm280k -> 100K
Sorento RM160K -> 60k
Harrier RM 250k -> 120K

Ok coming to the car itself, When i bought the car, (2013 model-same as yours; bought on 2017;) it still had warranty. The previous owner changed the steering rack as warranty claim, and I had warranty claim on steering button.

Those are the only repairing I did till now, others are just wearNtear

As for parts, I get it from main distributor or spare parts shop, and give it to repair shop to change them.
There is one LYN seller from rawang who had very competitive price, compared to market price, and another in subang which i frequent.

I dont find the parts are pricey, its pretty close to any other SUV in its segment. Obviously part prices at Service Center itself are pricey on selected parts.

I would suggest prior to buying the car, bring it to the SC and had to checked/diagnosed bumper to bumper, together with service/repair history. It only cost RM80-110

Any other question?

Thanks VJ, sounds like you are a happy owner. I only have concerns that KS is a problematic car that cost a lot to repair and leave me without a car for days.

I intend to buy Sorento because I want a proper 7-seater. Santa Fe is a bit small for that purpose. Other big 7 seaters are too expensive e.g.
Odyssey, Estima. Sorento comes with style as well.

Hmm, bought is about the same size and build on the same platform, its only cosmetic changes that differs...and for msian marker, santa fe concentrates on diesel and sorento for petrol.

I didnt like the older version, but the new facelist is much much better

Again, there is no right or wrong, its individual preference...all the best mate

Most sorento owners are in the Kia sorento UM Malaysia fb page. Including me. Upgraded from suprima s to this car. Rarely visit F&f now. Maybe can ask questions there.

So far I had the car since November last 2017. Loving it. Mine is HS pre facelift.

There is an owners whatsapp group about 180 members. So far I can tell all are happy with the car.

I went to carbase or was it carlist Malaysia. Placed all 7 seater suvs, sorento wins almost all categories. Even now I think will still be good value for money. The santa fe is a bit expensive. Outlander is a no go. No ac in second and third row unless you count the ac in the floor.

If you need to carry 5 or more, I suggest kgc.

Downsides of sorento is that it needs euro 5 diesel. Since the new normal diesel is b10, better stick to euro 5. For more than a year I had to commute 30 km/45mon one way to get to euro 5. Now e5 is available in Kota Bharu.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did think about it but Sorento is more stylish although the back row can only sit 2 five footers.

Kgc = kia grand carnival.

Petrol vs diesel
Pros of petrol
Car cheaper to buy. Diesel more expensive.
Car battery cheaper. Maintenance may be cheaper.
Can use Ron 95. Diesel recommended euro 5.

Pros of diesel
Way powerful than petrol. 9 sec 0 to 100. Huge torque. Useful for stop start traffic and overtake. My suprima also kalah with this car. 400 nm torque. Theee is this guy overseas who uses his sorento to play tug of war with hilux with lorry. His sorento win all. Got videos online.
Get better mpg due to diesel
8spd transmission. Petrol only 6 spd.
No need to rev engine hard to get power. Nature of diesel engine. More refined than petrol.
Most of the units sold are diesel iinm.
Mileage for long distances can get up to almost 1k km per full tank. My personal record is 960 km for full tank. If stick to national speed limit can get near the 1k mark. I drove from KL to batu pahat to kota Bharu on one tank. Technically can reach kb, but stopped at pasir Puteh since that was the only place at that time with e5 diesel. I refuel 4-6 weeks once since my daily commute is about 20+ km whole day.

That is what I remember on top of my head. The rest can ask in the fb group. Also please test drive it. You will get a better picture of the car. Then can do the math. At that price, what are your options. I cannot think of any other more value for money 7 seater suv.
New santa fe is more expensive. Slight better than sorento. Same engine. Not sure if it is worth the extra 10k++.
Outlander not refined. Poor interior layout. Has better off road capability. Petrol engine. Can topup anywhere.
Xtrail, 3rd row unusable to adults. Plastic interior. It is the cheapest though. Petrol. Xtrail exterior looks good though.
Fortuner, best off road capability, not refined on roads. Also fortuner too high. If you have old parents, they are not going to like that step ladder. If you are the type masuk kebun all the time then worth it. Can use normal diesel. Ladder frame. Fortuner seats fold to the side of the window if not mistaken. Fortuner more expensive.
Isuzu mu-x. Plastics interior. Not refined. Great off-road capabilities. With on the fly transmission selection. 3rd row good for adults. But seats in the last row don't fold flat. To raise the floor so adults will be comfortable. Also high vehicle. Can use normal diesel. Same class like fortuner. Ladder frame if not mistaken.

So depending on on your usage, sorento santa fe one class. Xtrail outlander another. Fortuner mux another. Also note that kia is no Toyota. Parts are there, hard to find oem.

If you stay in pedalaman or estate areas, maybe fortuner mux better choice. Budget people might want the outlander xtrail. Comfort good nvh and sophisticated interior might want santa fe sorento. When I bought the car, only one out of more than 10 people could tell it was diesel. The rest thought it was petrol. This is standing from outside while car running.

Since the gomen introduced the b10 diesel, I see more fortuner, Ford hilux fill e5. Even though they can use the lower grade fuel. My neighbour said that he save at least RM 20 when doing long distances with e5 in his pickup. Also engine quieter.

I am confident of the 2.2 d engine since my neighbour using the same engine in his 8 year old santa fe. Still going strong. No issues

Thanks for me most important is I am not buying a car with lots of problems where there are frequent repairs not due to wear and tear. I have heard too much from car service centres.
I don’t mind taking Petrol as it is cheaper cost outlay. Maybe the difference is 10k but I don’t think I can save 10k worth of petrol vs using diesel. Maybe by using petrol it will cost me 400/ month and using diesel is 600/month. Savings of 200 every month is only 6k in 5 years.

Thanks bro for explaining.

You must mean 400 per month for Diesel and 600/mth for petrol, not the other way round.
The truth is , the diesel model may cost you extra 10K more than the petrol, but you must know that when you sell off the car years later, you will also get back higher price for your diesel model compared to petrol, so that 10K is not all lost, in that sense.

What is more important to most Sorento owners is the exhilirating drive of the turbo diesel with higher torque of 442 Nm. The natural aspirated 2.4 Litre petrol engines gives out only 225 Nm of torque in comparison. As such, not everything can be measured in ringgit and sen, IMHO. Imagine climbing a slope or overtaking a car on the highway like a breeze. biggrin.gif

Extras in the diesel variant are (worth mentioning)
1) 19 Inch rims compared to 18 inch in the petrol
2) ISG (Idle Stop Go )
3) 8 Speed gear box vs 6 speed in the petrol

FC in the order of City / Highway / Combined as stated in the brochure :

Petrol : 13.4 / 7.2 / 9.5 Litre/100 km
Diesel : 7.3 / 6.0 / 6.5 Litre / 100 km

Great to see direct feedbacks from the owner. I also keen to have sorento for my expanding family. Space+style+power is pretty much sorento has. I'm just wondering can we get Singapore specs(gigantic panoramic roof) here in Malaysia? If can, how?

Singapore units are all CBU from Korea, so they can ship various specs assembled from Korea plant without any problem.
But in Malaysia, we need to do CKD or semi KD in mass production assembly to bring down the taxes, hence, Kia Malaysia could only offer 1 variant each for Diesel and petrol. It is not possible to get a unit with sunroof here, unless you are an AP holder and wish to import one directly from Korea. :-D

Sorento menang tipis mengatasi bekas juara Driver Champion iaitu Peugeot 3008.

Kia Sorento
Peugeot 3008
Lexus RX
Kia Niro
Mazda CX-5
Skoda Kodiaq
Toyota Corolla
Lexus IS
Hyundai Ioniq
Skoda Superb
Keputusan penuh boleh didapati di majalah dan laman web Auto Express.

Dear Sifus,

I intend to buy a 2nd hand KS. May I know if there is a difference between 2015 and 2016 registered car? If yes what is the difference? Is there a possibility that a 2016 registered KS is a 2015 make? How am I able to differentiate those 2 model?

Sorento UM model in 2015/2016 come in 3 variants - the LS, MS and HS which signify the Lower, Mid and High Spec. Some take away hints on the specs are as follows

LS - fabric seat, no 3rd row aircon, small wheels 17 Inch
MS - Clover leaf shape wheels, without auto parking
HS - Straight Clean spoke wheels, with Auto Parking

For the year or manufacture and registration year, please look at the JPJ registration card or grant. That is all that matters when it comes to the resale value, as the used car valuation is based on the year of manufacture/make, and not registration year.

Yes, registration year can be later than the manufactured year, but not the other way round.

Thanks that means 2015/2016 make is the same model? If yes what is the difference between 2015/2016 make vs 2014 make?

Sorry, you must be referring to the 2.4 petrol XM model, not the latest UM model.

Year 2011-2013 - XM model (Round type fog lamp )
Year 2014-2016 - XM Next Gen facelift model. (Rectangular shaped fog lamp & LED taillamp)

The facelift model come with more features compared to the pre-facelift. Sorry I can't remember the details of the differences except the exterior lamps and tail lamps

Hi. I am driving a 2019 Kia Sorento petrol 2.4L.hoping the brothers and sisters can help. Car is great but Been having problems with the power steering for over 8months with highway driving sticky/notchy steering feel and at low speed there is a slight clicking noise. Kia has said it’s a warranty issue with the power steering but they cannot get a delivery date through Naza for the parts. I have contacted Naza customer service and keep chasing with no delivery date. Anyone facing a similar problem or had success fixing this?

Could be the steering rack...Mine is the first Gen (2013/14) model, and had similar issue, and warranty claimed it. Right now Naza is selling off their distribution of Kia, hence massive stock take and inventory book keeping is in progress, therefore spare parts are frozen...sigh!

so i guess you have to wait a little longer, unless the SC has stock.

Hi all, Considering to get a used 2018 Sorento 2.2 CRDi or 2.4 HS version. The price difference seems big almost 20K more ex on the diesel. Which would you recommend? Thank you

Not recommended to buy at the moment...no support on warranty as Naza Malaysia not interested to further its business at the moment , i suppose.....some current owner even struggle to find SC that can service the car which is still under free service...
Kia is a good car but not represented well by its current franchise/dealership owner in Malaysia...

Oh, the warranty was one of the reasons to consider as this will minimize the worry of buying a used car. I was also considering a Grand Carnival so I suppose it will have the same warranty issue as well... Whats the official comment from Naza M'sia? Thanks for the heads up. !

I really like the new Carnival, if given a chance I would trade my Sorento for it! As for SC,, their support is fine, but to get parts, its really difficult now since stock is frozen, sigh!

There are few bidders including bmw to take it over but no confirmation yet.

Hi, Great feedback thanks. Curious why would you go for the Grand Carnival instead of the Sorento? The Grand Carnival ticks all the boxes for space/practicality but may not be as nice drive since its such a big car esp. for city driving? Due to big family, I've shortlisted (all used) the Sorento, Grand Carnival & Honda Odyssey.

AGree with you, for fun cruse or city driving SUV is better and Sorento meets that requirement. But for bigger family especially long distance, my only gripe is the boot space and rear leg space. hence Carnival meets that need better smile.gif

Size wise its not huge difference although from eyeball point Carnival appears to be bigger

Carnival Sorento
Length 5115 mm 4800 mm
Width 1985 mm 1890 mm
Height 1740 mm 1690 mm

Kia Motors Corporation plans to make Malaysia the regional manufacturing hub for the Kia vehicles in Asean and other potential markets.

Kia Asia Pacific president and chief executive officer Ted Lee said the South Korean carmaker had recognised the vast potential Malaysia would bring.

Kia had found it timely to raise the bar to progressively tap into Malaysia's potential, Lee said at the signing of a joint venture agreement with Bermaz Auto Bhd (BAuto) to form Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd here today.

For a start, Kia Malaysia will undertake the assembly of completely knocked down (CKD) of three Kia vehicles.

The first two models - Kia Seltos and Kia Carnival - are expected to be produced locally within 12-18 months.

The third model will be determined at a later stage.

Kia is the second largest carmaker in South Korea, and together with parent Hyundai Motor Group, is the world's fifth largest automotive manufacturer.

On the potential investment into the CKD operation, Yeoh said it would take about US$20 million to set up the production line of a product.

He also said that Kia Malaysia would help address the after sales issues faced by Kia owners under the previous distributor.

Kia has appointed BAuto's subsidiary Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd as the new distributor of its vehicles in Malaysia.

As the new distributor, Dinamikjaya holds the right to distribute and sell Kia vehicles, CKD and completely built up (CBU), sale of genuine parts as well as in the provision of after-sales service and to build Kia's brand reputation and awareness in Malaysia.

Elaborating on the new partnership, Lee said Kia had chosen BAuto after months of searching for the right partner.

"With BAuto's proven capability in successfully building up automotive marques in Malaysia and the Philippines as well as their automotive manufacturing experience, we believe we have placed the Kia brand in good hands under the capable leadership of its."

Tae said BAuto was a renowned listed automotive company in Malaysia with a strong management team and good track record.

Yeoh said Kia vehicles were well-known for their stylish looks, packed with smart features, frequent facelifts and new launches that keep prospective buyers excited over its products.

"The partnership will complement our existing automotive businesses and we look forward to a successful collaboration with Kia," added Yeoh

Hi mates, I came across a Sorento 2.2 HS diesel (2017) for sale. The owner planned to sell it at a price to cover his remaining loan which amounted to ~RM93k. Still under warranty till May 2022. Tip top condition but the mileage is a bit high at 160k km. My concerns are as followed:-
1. Any known issues especially the major ones for this model?
2. For the high mileage, is there anything that I need to be awared of in terms of wear and tear and big ticket item?
3. How's the maintenance and spare part cost like for this model?
4. Is it worth it at RM93k?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers! icon_question.gif

P/S: Here is the reference to the model just in case from Paul Tan's site:) - https://[<link removed>]/2017/04/25/kia-sorento-high-spec-diesel-in-malaysia-rm191888/

For a 4 years car the mileage is a bit high. Though a diesel engine will normally last more than 300,000km I still have some reserve to recommend it. Maybe nego for a further few k.

Diesel sorento does not have much "problems", however other than some minor issue with turbo actuator and EPB, I have not heard too much about other parts.

Common wear and tear
(1) brake pad, and disc rotor for every 2 brake pads replacement.
(2) auto rear boot button (locate at tailgate). The replacement is less than RM300, each one can last 3-5 years.

QUOTE(mystvearn @ Jul 10 2019, 11:22 PM)
Kgc = kia grand carnival.

No issues

I've tested the 2nd hand 2.4 HS 2018 model. The driving was not bad, doesn't feel sluggish. Only rear absorber on the driver side got leaking signage. Otber than that. The car was good. But my main target was to get the 2nd hand 2.2D HS version but very difficult to find one. How was your 2.2D ride until now? Any major repairs done so far since you bought the car? If yes, may I know the cost? Thank you.

Last night I checked mudah, shocked to see see only 3 diesels on sale. Can understand why. Very reliable car. Fc highway like 6l/100 km for diesel if stick to speed limit. X90 hybrid only 6.8l. 6.8l =160 km drive.

Ride good. Can autocruise at 160 km confidently on highway. 160km = 110km other cars. 110km like 80 km.

Repairs. Claims warranty for wear and tear items. Rubber boot opening. I now spray silicone there as finish 5 year warranty. Ac condensor leaking. Warranty. Front door passenger switch, warranty. Things to look out for for in future, EPB motor failure (all cars with EPB need to replace the motor or fix motor). I just recently paid 300+ for engine sendiri) sensor faulty. Waiting for for part to arrived in 5 days. Suspension still good on mine, though this is wear and tear item. Eventually will need to be replaced. Changed front brake pads 20k km ago. Rear brake pads still good. I just went and bought the rear as well, in case. Battery agm, this one rm1k+-. Can use normal battery but life expectancy is lower since auto start stop. Half the time of agm battery, price also half of agm battery.

Aside from door switch android folding mirroring claim. Rest considered wearing and tear. Engine oil is 7l for diesel. What's you save in fc, need to pay a bit in engine oil. Though fc will ultimately be cheaper as not everyday you change engine oil. Other owner's change drl as drl faulty, not common though.

I will consider selling it 2 years from now, if something good value arrives in the market. However owners in the wa group all have headache to replace car. Some went to merc, some to kgc. Others stick to car. Also got some new 2nd hand owners in group as well. All owners face same dilemma. Naza sold us the car damm cheap compared to bermaz. The new model so expensive. 70k more expensive. If you get a new car, either pay a lot or downgrade model. Cost of maintaining the car is rm1.1k/months at sc on average. If got 3rd party sc, even better. Cheaper really. In kelantan, no option.

Thank you.

Get 2.2D SX. The one with 8-speed. 19-inch rims. 2018 above.
Should be 90k-100k if direct owner i think. Specs and look wise still relevant in 2023.
