UIQ 3.0 is rather slow compared to other OSs, eg. S60 FP1 or WM5/6.

But if you can get used to it, no harm trying.

It's the most stable UIQ 3.0 device up to date.

And, depends if you can bear with the scratch, I've not seen it and don't know how bad it is, and everyone has a different tolerance level towards scratches.

So it all depends on yourself.

Nothing can make it significantly faster as that's the way the OS operates.

Maybe by installing Swiss Manager the device would be more stable, that's all.

SE launched 3 UIQ 3.0 phones last year, starting with M600, W950i and then lastly P990i.

P990i was initially very unstable with frequent hangs and restarts, but this issue was solved in stages whereby the latest firmware was reported to be doing OK.

W950i since launched is the most stable device, and during my days of using it, it only hanged on me once, that's without the installation of Swiss Manager to manage the memory.

IIANM, tapping on it once initiates the next level in Walkman mode.

But it's been >6 months since I used it, so can't really recall.

Apart from the presence of Walkman interface in the W950i (which is really cool and nice to use, easily one of the best among Walkman phones), there's not much difference from the M600i I'm using now.

It has been mentioned before earlier on in this thread, that to use GPS on a UIQ 3.0 powered device, you need a Garmin 10x, BT GPSr.

A Garmin BT GPSr retails around RM 699.

I noticed that on my M600i as well.

And I notice it's on numbers I call / receive calls from often?
