QUOTE(sunauto @ Jan 17 2007, 10:54 AM) I noticed that from the SE's site, there are no original softwares or even games for P990i. My friend bought one yesterday, he was cursing like made, other models have a stronger support when it comes to softwares or games but not P990i. Are there any sites or places that sell softwares for P990i? It's a big disappointment that such a wonderful smartphone has no softwares to download. I guess the smartphone is not fully utilized since it's capable to handle complex 3D games but sadly, I have yet to one which is good. I don't think Sky Force should be counted as one as it's also available for P900i and P910i. QUOTE(sunauto @ Jan 17 2007, 02:23 PM) If the softwares or games can be downloaded from SE's website that will be great in my opinion. It's more convenient I guess. yup..dats true. but u can download sharewares or buy it from certain websites. all the links are on the 1st page. well..i guess UIQ 3.0 is still a quite new symbian 9 thingie..dats y not much development of softwares yet. but dont worry..i'm sure by nex year..there will be alot of new softwares coming. SE might offers downloads thru it websites soon. |

QUOTE(beycont @ Jan 17 2007, 11:42 PM) Yeah, restarted the phone and checked the phone book, but when i choose the name from the list of contacts, it sends to the wrong number. it only happens with certain ppl contacts or all? try delete the contacts that got prob then enter again. if not then try type the numbers in instead of getting thru the fonbook. faced this prob b4 wif n6630..but never wif symbian UIQ fon.. |

Which shop wuz it? i am still looking for a screen protector for my M600i the shop is in LYP. 4got the shop's name. it's on the 2nd floor i tink. where got alot of hp sellers. the shop got Celcom's logo 1. turn right after the escalator. hopefully u can find it. @ unknowndevices : my old cheapo SP scratch kaokao after long period of stylus using. hopefully de new one wont. its exactly as clear as without SP. great.. tink not many shops sell it as m600i is not those very popular models like SE K800i or Nokia N70. well actually m600 uses the same type of crystal casing with w950i. compatible for both. p990i's one i'm not so sure. might wanna ask those p990i owners. to all the m600i users out there..does anyone of u experienced this before?? >>>>>>
sent 5 pages of SMS to my fren but he received them separately. if 2 pages he will receive it in 1 set. never tried with 3 or 4 pages before but supposely, using my old N6630..even if 5 pages the receiver will still receive in 1 set. anyone knows how 2 solve this problem?? does it got to do with my SMS settings, FW or originally m600i carries this 'bug'?? can any of the m600i users try to check whether his set got this problem?? thanks in advance. QUOTE(unknowndevices @ Jan 26 2007, 12:43 AM) BST-33 included in the package...not BST-34... m600i also on BST-33. wonder can it support usage of BST-34. it offers longer standby time with the extra mAH rite??that's as what they mentioned... heard that BST-34 isn't available in Malaysia either as in one package or optional accessories... anyone can verify this... |

QUOTE(unknowndevices @ Jan 26 2007, 12:55 AM) if not mistaken...before the launch p990i.... if BST-34 offers longer battery life..why dont SE go for it instead of BST-33? is there any BST-34 available in the market now? SE wanted to make BST-34 in one package... but suddenly...when it sells in the market...package is BST-33... some more don't know about BST-34 in market....is it available or not... with BST-34 sure many want...longer battery durations... |

QUOTE(sunauto @ Jan 26 2007, 02:37 AM) If for K800i, BST-33 is sufficient but P990i has a bigger screen and it's more power hungry since it's running on Symbian OS, it doesn't make sense to use BST-33. I'm sure the standby time is pretty bad, correct me if I'm wrong. I thought of buying one because of its Wi-Fi since the price of a P990i is crashing down now. It will be a good buy after CNY I guess. yeah..same with M600i. standby time pretty bad too. not sure about others but mine usually last 1 day only. Too bad, there are very limited softwares for P990i, it's a good phone but with limited softwares. It's the same as a Nokia Communicator, it will be headache to find softwares to use on it. It's a pity. yup..agreed. symbian OS 9.0 UIQ 3.0 softwares are quite limited. what OS is Nokia Communicator running on? well..if u really a person who fully utilised lotsa PDA functions in a phone..Windows Mobile based PDA phones will suit u better. there are tonnes of softwares out there for u to choose..unlimited. i wanted to go for O2 Mini at 1st since it's quite affordable & runs on WM2003SE. but i SMS alot so guess phones with QWERTY keyboard is better for me. those QWERTY keyboard based PDA phones like O2 Atom Exec & Dopod 838 Pro are way too expensive for a student like me. so ended up with M600i. happy with it. |

QUOTE(sunauto @ Jan 26 2007, 10:29 AM) Wah, standby time only 1 day? yeah..so sad for me. got nice phone but battery life sucks. most i can get is 1 day & half. which means very less calls & SMS. Is the M600i screen bigger than P990i, I know the resolution is the same for both. Well, P990i, for AP set is only around RM1800 or less, this phone is selling very poorly, even the M600i is doing much better. When there's no demand, I'm sure the price will be crashing down. Same like P910i last time, a year and a half later, the price went down by RM1K for ori set. My old P900i is using BST-15, 1260 mAh and it could last around 2-3 days but if P990i is using BST-33, 950 mAh, I worry it won't last 1 day for my case. It should be more power hungry as P990i has a 262K TFT screen whereas a P900i has a 64K TFT screen, more colours mean more power consumption. The trouble with Symbian Os is that not many companies are willing to write softwares for this platform as there are only a handful of phone with Symbian OS and no doubt, most Symbian phones come with a powerful processor and can even play 3D games as well but sadly, there are no softwares to take advantage of this. If I'm not mistaken, the P990i's processor is many many times better than the previous model but I have yet to see any impressive softwares or games. It's a waste actually. I'm not too sure about Nokia Communicator, my uncle used to have one but sold it as he wasn't impressed with the availability of the softwares for his device. Yeah, Windows Mobile based PDA phones are better, I gotta agree with you. Wah, you're lucky already, last time when I was in college, a handphone is a luxury unlike nowadays, my little cousins are already using SE K320i. for ori sets the price is still around RM2.6k rite? well..not many ppl use dis kinda fon. only those businessman or gadget freaks. maybe thats why low demand. youngsters usually prefer those SE or Nokia N-series. cool to them i think. even old P900i using such high capacity battery? wonder why SE not using one for its M600i or P990i..maybe they left this out. well..if for Nokia's Symbian..there's lotsa softwares for it. use to own a 3660 & 6630. can find their softwares anywhere. just for UIQ 3.0..its kinda limited. admit its such a waste. hopefully in future those software developers will develop more softwares for UIQ. haha..consider myself lucky to own one but get it with my own pocket money. always kena parents nag when change new phone..they said waste money. hehe..anyway..i'm proud with this phone. the best i ever use so far. |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Jan 28 2007, 02:19 PM) I'm planning to get M600i or W950i, but for those who use it, I want to know how its video playback capabilities. In GSMReviews it say that it can play video at 640x480 at 30fps. Can someone confirm this? I'm very concern about video playback since these phone don't have camera and I usually watching video on my current Xphone and W700i phone so I need a good phone for watching video well..videos run smoothly without any lag on my M600i. but i think W950i can perform better as its more to a multimedia phone. M600i is more to a business phone. but W950 is kinda pricey. So if u wanna go for ur budget..take M600i. that's what i think. |
