Wish to get myself a digital piano, preferably Yamaha or Roland, budget within RM4k, best if the model comes with hammer graded action, I do have basics in piano, self learner and able to sight read normal piano sheets. Any models to recommend? Thanks in advance.

For that budget and specs, you'd have to look into getting a second hand unit. Roland is nowhere near your budget.

First of all, What is your purpose of getting a digital piano?
If You are thinking to continue self taught piano (as you mentioned hammer graded action), then you must get a piano. Digital piano is not helping You in developing your skill. If it is due to budget - There are some second hand piano on sale by private owner, do check it out on muxxx.com (yes, Please replace xxx with alphabet). Their prices are quite attractive. No doubt some owner is asking higher price than what is worth, however do ask for a lower price. I think they are happy to let it go instead of sending to piano store which only giving them half of the price they are asking. Good luck! |

You can try the Roland FP-30 (MYR 3299 - Mudah)
Affordable and the action is quite good. Wish it came out when I bought my casio. |

FP30 gets my vote if your budget is below the 4k range. The key action for this unit is the same as the FP140/RP401 which is pretty realistic IMO. I've had mine for about 2 months now. So far so good

Hello JellyCrush. I am a bit confused. When you say “budget within RM4k” do you mean you want something less than $4000? Please clarify. I don’t want to make any assumptions. :-)
Regarding Yamaha or Roland digital pianos I recommend both the Yamaha DGX650WH as well as the Roland RD-300NX models. They are both quite popular and highly rated items. Here’s some explanation to answer your question about hammer-graded action. The Yamaha keys are weighted by Yamaha’s “Graded Hammer Standard” action, which allows the digital piano to respond to your movements just like a real piano. Play the keys lightly and the sound will be softer. Play the keys with more force and the sound will be louder. The Roland’s graded hammer action is responsive to the touch, allowing for greater expression by the player. I hope that helps. If you want more information please let me know. Best regards. :-) |

I'm in almost same situation with you, except I'm getting for my son that just starting to pick up piano.
The models I have in my shortlist are: 1) Yamaha P-115 2) Casio Privia PX-160 3) Casio Privia PX-350 (old model on discount to clear stock) 4) Yamaha DGX650 Haven't make the final decision as I am also looking for 2nd hand acoustic piano. Maybe I will buy a digital piano first until he is 3rd or 4th grade then get a better acoustic piano, while keeping the digital in his room for him to play or practice in the night. |

But even at higher price points they are decent.Take a look at some comparisons for example: https://pianoreport.com/yamaha-vs-casio/ I am really not a fan of roland pianos. |

I'm on a tight budget looking for used digital piano for less than RM1k. I found few Casio PX-110 online within that price range. Is Casio PX-110 good for beginner for first digital piano? It seems to have 88 keys and scaled hammer action based on the website here: http://arch.casio-intl.com/asia-mea/en/emi...ia/px110dk.html
