I'm in almost same situation with you, except I'm getting for my son that just starting to pick up piano.
The models I have in my shortlist are:
1) Yamaha P-115
2) Casio Privia PX-160
3) Casio Privia PX-350 (old model on discount to clear stock)
4) Yamaha DGX650

Haven't make the final decision as I am also looking for 2nd hand acoustic piano. Maybe I will buy a digital piano first until he is 3rd or 4th grade then get a better acoustic piano, while keeping the digital in his room for him to play or practice in the night.
