Need opinion and expertise on all sifus here because i just cannot understand the logic
Attached example of this common / popular bonnet soundproofing technique available at all accessories shops.
The company's fb advertising sites as well as other shops offering similar soundproofing services claimed by sticking the thick fiberglass aluminium foil with rubberized foam into the bonnet, one could achieve sound deadening and engine heat reduction impact.
Well, in terms of noise reduction there is no doubt the thick object could absorb the vibration and loud engine noise from the bay... but WHY would it have engine cooling effect?
Isn't this kinda thick mat object would logically reduce the already narrow space available within the engine bay to allow for efficient heat dissipation? Hence applying this would further restrict it even more?
Apologize for my lack of knowledge about this matter but just wanna seek answers to this query of mine.
I did call up the accessory shop and all they could answer was "Confirmed engin tiada overheat. Kenapa? Tiada overheat, Tiada overheat lar".
Very unconvincing~
Just buy from Perodua, is only about RM70 last time I bought. What are you trying to achieve? Reduce heat in engine bay or reduce noise?
If want to reduce noise OK la can use but depends how much you pay also. As axia is milo tin you should reduce noise from the doors or floor to achieve better result in noise reduction.
If you are serious about having a healthier cooler engine just install atf cooler and service your atf and coolant on time
