This is common to all car I believe. Underneath car are exposed to all kind of dirt and water when traveling on and off the road. Some people even change to stainless steel exhaust piping. I believe the car steels are galvanized. Normally the corrosion is on surface and they do not get rotten fast. Well I think it still can last more than 10 years  biggrin.gif
*
i know some parts of cars rusts, and it is not an issue.

what i worried about is that the rusted hooks are soldered to the exhaust pipes, and in short time it might rotten up the joints and causing leakage..

so far i see perodua kelisa have this sort of issue. NONE of the kelisa on the street i see today is running with stock exhaust. mostly are rusted etc.. same goes to some wira...

i hope it does not happen to our cars. replacing exhaust is expensive.

guys

what are the things that i should check after getting the car?

any common defects?

i will be getting a G auto
*
when you take the car:
1. exhaust hooks rust
2. check around see everything is ok
3. headlamp fog up when wash car due to no anti fog coating

first week using the car:
1. squeeking sound from chair
2. dashboard got ticking sound
3. some backdoor got knocking sound

first 6 month:
1. very minor axia has air con compressor issue (replace at sanden)
2. very minor axia has engine light lit up

hmm.. don't think black tape will stop moisture though...

u can spray WD40.. wash it first.. let it dry and put some anti rust coat. its black color. sold at Ace hardware... i never tried it before. i only heard ppl suggested me to do that

TS I think you should update the common problems section with more info like if install this/that that don't require cutting of wire WILL NOT void warranty. also common things to check upon receiving car. or if change rim then void warranty or not etc etc as many people are asking although has been repeated many times. it'll make the thread cleaner and more organized. just my suggestion

rule of thumb you change something that is covered under warranty then that particular item that you change will be void example:

change to bigger rim/spring/adjustable/different absorber = void for your suspension warranty ONLY not void the whole car warranty

I think you get the picture.

just to share I have changed many things in the car and am also servicing outside, not in perodua so therefore in paper my warranty is supposed to be void because I did not service my car in perodua service centre or dealer BUT I managed to claim engine mounting warranty from perodua just by asking nicely. sometimes is your luck and the way you present yourself as the people at SC are humans too so don't go in and complain this that bla bla bla, no one will want to help you.

and to those that are worry about warranty is really best not to do anything to the car if warranty is your main concern.
if you want to change then pls be prepared for the part you want to change to be void from warranty
*
lol.. TS can just post a note

*Refer to warranty booklet for warranty info

is it mean lower loan amount and tenure has higher interest?
*
usually, the longer your loan / the more you loan, the lower the interest rate is.

the shorter loan and lower loan amount the higher your interest is.

the best way to do is to ask your agent to give you quotation from few banks and take the best option.

today send car to service in perodua svc centra chit chat with mechanic regarding noise .Mechanic say noise came fr  radio player is not bracket is the player component itself. Even myvi n alza got noise on the car .The best myvi is still the 2004 model he say .He also told me  new perodua car coming this year with  keyless entry  drool.gif
*
oh no.. i'd still prefer driving with keys. keyless once broken it is very expensive to fix and replaced.

but.. sooner or later all cars will be keyless. since it has already starting to be very common nowadays.

just like car alarms, during the early 90s, it was very expensive to install car alarms. and nowadays it is a common technology

got a minor scratch on the hood on 2nd day, probably caused by cat or just some flying rocks   sad.gif

heard polish can fix it, what brand good? hopefully not so expensive  cry.gif

really know nothing when it comes to car haha  blush.gif  rclxub.gif
*
sad to hear that. no you can't remove scratch anymore if it is there. mine got many light scratches too, i suspect is those stupid girl colluegues who use handbags when they walk by my car...

the polishing is just a layer of wax to cover the transparent coat. which is not visible. when the wax coat is washed over time, the scratch will be visible again.

u may refer to this video for scratch removal. but it is hard work!

Yaa. Maybe they  haven't updated their  database. I hope so.
*
the database also not very accurate.

the product verify page says must put 6 digits serial number to trace.

but if you look at the http://www.ultraracing.my/home/beware-of-imitation/ page... they are showing only 5 digits on their bars.

try email them to check for you.

besides, earlier original bars do not have the blue sticker and bar code section.

just an update for you.

UR is very quick in responding to my request.

i have a feeling they don't have a proper serial number trace on their products. i gave them 2 serial numbers. and they replied me 3 hours later request me to send them the picture of my bars.

either my bars are replicas.. or.. they just don't have a proper database.

will update you once again if they reply me.

Hi all,
a newbie here, i wanted to ask something about warranty. My axia's aircon broke down yesterday and i made appointment today to sent for claiming warranty. They used up whole day to diagnose and told me that is compressor leaking. They said it may take up to 3 weeks to order the parts and i have to make another appointment once the spare parts arrived. Is it ridiculous that it takes up to 3 weeks to get a new compressor for a local make car?
*
your location?
your model/year?

there are some forumers here claims they replace it at sanden glenmarie.

hi effy92
hope you enlighten me a few of these questions.

1. how many tires set did you changed?
2. how are the mountings, did you replace them/does it started to vibrate already?
3. brake pads changed before?
4. suspension soften? (are you still using stock or aftermarket?)
5. any of the bushings and drive shaft boots start to wear?

My car is lemon first batch so I only manage to claim ac compressor, clucth cable, shifter cable when it reach 20k km. Only that thing so far. After that till now nothing breakdown. I never service my ac also. When my car reach 9xk km i ask PJ SA to do full inspection, yet nothing can claim. waste my rm18 for inspection labour.  doh.gif

Till today still no suddenly stranded on the road, just battery start to weaken when my car just reach 148000 or 1 year 5 month, got sign when start up the car, the starter feel not enough of juice but still can start. Next day after wake up from long hour journey my car fail to start, lucky got jumper cable. Changed MF battery for rm195 at perodua teluk intan. The battery rebrand by perodua because only got perodua sticker, not sure what brand.
1. Now on 2nd set of tyre. Maybe can last till 160k km. My Goodyear hit 100k km marks already. Use it since 50k km. Bought it 2nd hand actually, maybe the owner used below 5k km only. The front tyre not yet reach indicator. Only rotate once. Alignment only done once when my car reach odo 40k km. Till now the car goes straight.  thumbup.gif
2. Never replace. Feels the same as new. I also ask sa to check mounting before warranty expired, and the result still ok.  sweat.gif
3. Not yet. Seems can last till 200k km.
4. Soften not weaken maybe. But no sign of leaking, so did not manage to claim warranty. Yes, im using stock.
5. So far nothing squeaks or clicking. Driveshaft also no sound when fully turns.
*
amazing, thanks for the detail.

tyres: seems like good year could really give a lot of mile age. so meaning your first set hankook last 50k km?

mountings wear could be caused by age as well. really glad to hear that after 150km it is still working fine.

so far i think perodua / daihatsu absorbers can last very long if driven moderately.

appreciate the feedback bro!
