I really like 1 comment in that site:
"The pic also begs the question, how will one use optical audio and HDMI? I realize HDMI carries the audio but I'm not about to trot out and buy a new receiver that handles HDMI switching. That said, I'm not about to replace my current 360 for HDMI either..."

Now....for sure...if it is true...most people would not only need to buy a new xbox 360..but a new HT receiver too...sigh....

Looking at the way the port is configured, it's possible the connector for HDMI comes with both HDMI and the standard 360 AV connector. Which means have to buy their cable.

This could probably replace the Premium set if it ever sees light.

It's no secret that they have been planning to move to 65nm, mostly for the cost savings. Not surprised if they throw in a few upgrades as well and possibly make it smaller and/or integrate the power brick since it should run much cooler.

The ideal thing for most of us would be a standard X360 connector to a HDMI slot for those who wanted to use HDMI with the option of using optical out for audio (note the large box on the standard connector with the optical slot).

Also I would just buy the 120gb drive seperate, my 360 is doing great no 3Rods nothing (touches wood)

I don't think you can split the audio from a HDMI connection, cause it's meant to be as one so you can't illegally copy the signal! tongue.gif

It's only HDMI. How many of us can use 1080p anyway?

I'm sure the HD will be available separately. But all that space is of no use to me until they implement more video codecs. tongue.gif

current 360 MS profits abt 75 bucks... + 65nm cost less.. Likely MS won't put the price same as PS3...

I think Ms will make this as premium set and the premium go to core set..

Might be selling at USD399... if I'm not mistaken I've read it from the inquirer...

me juz wait for this version 2.... less heat = less comsumption of electricity = less money to operate = more goodies if with 120 GB same as premium... hopefully by March smile.gif

Actually me planning to get 360 end of Jan unmodded.. after keluar bonus...
but now mostly not... can't wait to join u guy in live community and chainsawing me the noob biggrin.gif ...

Its not been confirmed that MS will release an updated version with HDMI port yet. I read a while back that dev consoles has hdmi out.

Anyway wait for CES to see whether MS will announce anything regarding this or something similar smile.gif

If really got HDMI with the 65nm chip, you probably can wait till Q3/Q4 before you can get one since the 65nm chip will be out mid this year only due to delay.

Anyway the longer you wait, the more you miss out on the games! Heh

1080p. the ultimate in hd. my two cents, unless your lcd tv really can show the difference between the 780p/1080i ie a really really top of the range model like the bravia x series, i would not think having HDMI makes any difference for much of gaming when you are viewing it at 10 feet away.

seriouly, GOW is really wonderful as it is without HDMI. Well, if it's true, i guess it's meant more for movies, i think for the upscaling of DVD and the HD-DVD add-on connectivity.

cheers.
