Cause black is always better

any official date when its coming out? later i buy 360 now..suddenly ver2 comes out need to join the gow community n enjoy the sensation of chainsawing ppl

well the details about version 2 are sketchy, unless you have an absolutely awesomeness TV that requires HDMI for full 1080p output and does not support 1080p through component then it is wise to wait for the version 2, if not just go buy the version 1 and then get the extra HDD later one when the version 2 comes out because for sure they will release it as an add-on as well. Then you can join the community chainsawing

With all that said, if you do go for the version 1, make sure you either put in an aircon place or/and keep the area very well ventilated so that you keep your 360 from overheating, im sure that this is the same as the version 2 but moreso with version 1. Mine has not had 1 3ROD incident (touch wood) since i bought it and i use it everyday (well almost).

im in dilemma... should i stop myself to buy zephyr or save my money to buy it... i need to buy my own x360... MZs_Demonic already pushing me to buy x360 ASAP

The HDMI port will come out eventually but the 120GB and whether its black or not is purely rumour. Whether you really need 120GB is another question
To wait is a waste of time if you ask me.
There are enough good 360 games in the market to justify buying now.

if they were to charge 200 dollars for the damn hdd, its about half the price of the xbox360?? that sucks big time.

Anyhoooo, 479.99*3.6 = RM1728 + Postage + Tax + Profit margin, we're talking about exceeding 2k already loh. macam mana? is it worth it?

I dunno, I don't have a HDMI TV, so that's down the drain - and I've been very lucky so far my 360 hasn't acted up...so there's really no reason outside the bigger HDD for me to consider ditching my current 360.

jst bought my 360 frm djinn yesterday, cant tahan waiting for the new zephyr. tried out the gow @ gamershideout already enough poison me to buy it straight away.

Is the 120GB HDD will be available at the same time? Maybe there's a market for 360 Premium (white kaler) + 120GB HDD. If the price are lower than Elite, I'll take this combination any time. I can live without HDMI.

The Blackbird SR-71 was painted black to dissipate heat more efficiently compared to unpainted aircrafts. Perhaps this would be the same for the BlackBox360?

remember the heat travel from the hotter place to the colder one...
so the heat will go out from the Xbox 360...
but duno how efficient is it...

With the revelation that the black Xbox 360, also known as "Zephyr" is in fact real (the image above is a dev kit, by the way), Engadget has gathered some concrete details from a trusted source. Some of these details were uncovered earlier this morning, but some questions -- particularly the notion of built in WiFi -- are brand new. See the fresh details below.

* First of all, the black Xbox 360 will be officially known as the Xbox 360 Elite.
* The Elite will be manufactured in limited quantities, possibly a few hundred thousand.
* Everything included with the unit will be black, including the case, controller, and Live headset. The packaging will be new as well.
* The Elite will cost $479 and will be sold alongside Premium and Core packs.
* Eventually, a white version of the Elite will replace Xbox 360 Premium packs. Presumably, this will happen shortly after the Elite is sold out. Once this happens, Premiums will include the 120 GB HDD and HDMI.
* There is no solid date for the Elite-to-Premium transition, though it is estimated to happen late summer or early fall.
* The Elite runs cooler than the current Premium, but it is unknown if it takes advantage of 65nm chips.
* Prices could remain the same when Premiums convert to 120GB/HDMI, but a price cut may still occur once the 65nm chips are implemented.
* The HD-DVD player will definitely not be bundled with the Elite and Microsoft stands by its claim that it has no plans to ever integrate an HD-DVD drive into the Xbox 360.
* There are no plans to integrate WiFi into the Elite or future Premium packs.

So there you have it, everything we know about the Elite until Microsoft decides to send out an official press release. Now that you know all the details (especially the bit about the Elite running cooler), do you plan on picking up an Xbox 360 Elite?
