lmao its identical alright. Was hoping for all new design this year.

unlikely that apple is doing any major changes to the design for another 1-2 years.

2012 to 2015 - same design
2016-2017 - same design (at least another 3 more years before major redesign).

at most they will just upgrade the keyboard, speed bump, weight reduction etc..

do not fix something that is not broken. no point changing design every year. what most important is performance.

i quite like the design. A solid piece of notebook. an expensive ones. if only they add on another usb-C port......

Hello guys, thinking buying myself a MacBook as currently APPLE offer FOC a Beats Solo 3 wireless.

I'm thinking upgrade some specs:

Base Model with upgrade to 16GB RAM and i5 Processor
or
Base Model with upgrade to i7 processor

i'm using PS & AI for graphic design, which upgrade suitable for me?

Get the RAM. The effect is more significant

Mind you the edu promo is not available in Malaysia

Lives in JB so I can pick up at Apple Store SG.
Already consult with Apple Store stuff, they suggest me take the i7 processor with 8GB ram~

The 2016 model still good to go?

5,499 at machines now, quite tempting over the 6,999 price tag for the 13" TB model.

get the 2017 instead if you really like the 12-inch macbook. it is much more capable than the 2016 and with a better 2nd gen keyboard.

The extra money don't seems to be worth it for an upgraded keyboard and a minimum speed bump.

If I were to go 6k for the 12, I'd shell out another 1k for the 13" TB which packs more power.
