QUOTE(fazron80 @ Sep 2 2016, 07:24 PM) Anyone here recently service their car? Is there a new tcu map for the cvt? Drove back from sc and cvt seemed better than previous. Smoother when driving slow. And much linear power delivery. Proton used persona setting? check your service invoice or better yet snap a pic and show us toosee if got written anything about tcu/ecu update.. if no, then just placebo effect or new engine oil makes the car run smoother.. |

QUOTE(rageLE @ Sep 3 2016, 09:45 AM) test drove 1.3 exec cvt yesterday these 2 that you mentioned is just because you are driving the car for the first time and you are not used to it..Things i find not gooding - brake so light (Not really reassuring) - slow throttle response Is this common ? Overall nice car with great handling once you've driven around more with it you will notice that those 2 are not really an issue.. |

QUOTE(northernhero @ Sep 3 2016, 02:54 PM) Update on my 20k service where got so fast change cvt fluid la. its like 40k or 60k if i remember correctly..Called authorised service centre and got a quotation ranging frm rm400 to rm600 because need to change cvt fluid. End up went to proton edar and the damage was only rm220. But the person at proton edar told me that semi could only last for 5000km. Anyway i m going Coe at 30000km service. I am glad that I could save so much lol thats why 3rd party SC sucks lah, always wanna chop. then ppl who go to 3rd party service will think how come proton's maintenance so blardy expensive. proton really need to supervise their 3rd party service centers |

QUOTE(fazron80 @ Sep 3 2016, 11:06 PM) I dont know that's why i ask. Nothing mentioned about tcu updste on my receipt. Just something about procare which i also dont have any idea. I'm on my 4th service. Placebo comes after 4th service? Anyway the car is better to drive now. Lag is reduced. No more stuttering in.slow driving. If it's placebo effect i still happy too as no longer need to adapt my foot for the cvt. maybe call up the service center u went to to enquire whats the procare thingy that they did btw which service center u went to? and also whats your car model? 1.3 or 1.6 cvt? |

QUOTE(rageLE @ Sep 3 2016, 11:55 PM) Ah i see , was comparing it to my usual ride and yes it feels sluggish compared to iriz , thank you for the clarification is your current ride normal AT?if yes then yeah you will feel CVT especially Punch CVT used in Proton is like sluggish.. 2 factors. 1) CVT in general feels sluggish over normal AT, because in CVT, rpm rises then only the km/h rises. (you put your foot down, you see the rpm rises but the car didnt move as fast as you thought it would, but then later massive power comes in. this is the rubber band effect feel) -while conventional AT rpm and speed rises together. you may think CVT is rubbish if you're first timer but its actually quite brilliant tbh. 2) Punch CVT is clutch-based compared to other CVTs which are torque-converter based. so like manual cars, the clutch need to fully open then only the proper acceleration/power is available. QUOTE(kevin_kwan @ Sep 9 2016, 03:18 PM) Asked them about the so called software update for iriz following persona and saga release, (for 1.3) and they said that it is possible and may came out around 1month or so after new saga release since they need to tweak it and test it first before releasing it us. But it all depends on HQ,RND or whoever responsible for it whether they want to spend some time updating our software or not IM JUST PRAYING SO HARD THIS HAPPENS FOR REAL. because my no.1 jelly and butthurt of the new Persona is that, their cvt no more jerky jerky. guess current Iriz the only thing available is the TCU/ECU updates carried over from new Persona. (good enough for me)
as for new production Iriz, maybe they will get better dashboard/plastic fittings, better qc parts basically.. |
