One shouldn't worry too much about battery life on this phone Most casual users can easily get 7-9 hours SOT My usual is around 9-11 hours generally. My usage mainly on Internet based stuffs with no gaming. This phone has best SOT amongst all other Androids I had used. Example 4-5 on Priv, LG V10, HTC 10 ; 6-7 on Note5, 7-8 on S7e etc

QUOTE(sean810818 @ May 22 2016, 07:54 AM) Hi all. Want to ask does mate 8 support aukey fast charger ?? Or only can use back huawei original charger adapter ?? Thank you You can use without any issues. I am in fact using the QC Aukey charger n at times with my other Tronsmart QC too Any phone that restrict it's charging to its only charger is out of date already

QUOTE(~~5ive~~ @ May 22 2016, 09:45 PM) Uncle benny, may I ask how would u rate mate 8 camera vs oppo r7+? I remember u say u choose oppo over mate 7, so how about mate 8? So long ago n I cannot really give you an answer Anyway I am happy with the Mate8 camera. Don't be influenced by those Web reviews as 10/10 were done based on early firmware The camera is snappy n pics quality I deemed good enough for stuffs I always did with it - sharing on Facebook, Whatsapp Photo shots quality isn't in the class of LG V10 ( I rate as best phone camera I had used), or S7e. I rate is better than Mate7 camera Anyway I am not a camera geek n my demands isn't that high unlike some users This post has been edited by benny888: May 23 2016, 07:12 AM

QUOTE(samsungXP @ May 22 2016, 09:39 PM) When u wan to test p9 plus and give some reviews I had no plans to get the p9 plus. Mate8 is sufficiently good enough and is a 6 incher ( my favorite size)

QUOTE(latte36 @ May 23 2016, 05:38 PM) Considering. But i cant seem to plug in usb and transfer all my photos. Need to install the huawei program first. No need to install any HW program When you plug in phone, drag down status bar and select files By default it is charging status Install the USB phone drivers is enough This post has been edited by benny888: May 23 2016, 05:45 PM

QUOTE(Bujal.x @ May 23 2016, 09:45 PM) Im using note 5 atm and what a bummer. I tot the camera if not better than nexus 6p at least at the same par but turns out its not what as i expected. Really frustrating.. Like uncle benny, 6" is my ideal size.. Well.. My quest to find such phone with killer camera shall be continued. 😆 If you checked back the posts especially on ver 1, several users had said the Mate8 camera is even better than Note5 Personally I would say is equally as good as Note5 n Nexus 6p I had no issues with close focussing Go and test yourself Photo quality is subjective n each one viewed it differently This post has been edited by benny888: May 23 2016, 10:42 PM

QUOTE(latte36 @ May 24 2016, 08:25 AM) Personal opinion on mate 8 vs note 5 Camera is lousier. Especially moving objects. Also takes longer to focus. Screen less sensitive. At times its frustrating but its still ok. Boleh tahan Battery. Fuuuu. This is the only reason why i am still using this m8. Its simply awesome. What do you mean by " screen less sensitive " , that even makes you frustrated ?? - another hardware defect ? This post has been edited by benny888: May 24 2016, 09:35 AM

QUOTE(hexotricks @ May 26 2016, 04:43 PM) Yes warranty is voided But you can easily lock it back - just a one simple fastboot command. But I had no idea whether HW can detect it was unlocked previously. Check back my earlier posts how to do that Locking back will remove that warning splash screen But must factory reset first

QUOTE(xisan @ May 26 2016, 10:58 PM) So no one is not bothered by this? Having a folder is useless if have too many apps in it. Better put on the home screen for easier find any app. I am completely not even bother with such stuffs. Some of my folders even up to 3-4 pages but mostly 2 Is a non issue to me

QUOTE(fujkenasai @ May 28 2016, 11:23 AM) do you think that they will come out with a note 5 edge if so would you consider? I dont think there will be a Note5 edge. Even if there is why bother to get an outdated model and not the latest Note6 ( apparently will be named Note7)

QUOTE(squareballs @ May 30 2016, 06:18 PM) Mind sharing how do u apply the update? Tq Extract the zip and copy contents to a folder named as dload Switch off phone Press both volup n voldown plus power button simultaneously. Once you see bootup release only power button. Once you see EMUI logo release both vol buttons Firmware will be flashed thereafter. You will see 2 reboots Mine updated from b180 n all data is intact

QUOTE(thankyou @ May 30 2016, 06:45 PM) Uncle Benny, I remember your phone is rooted. By updating using this method, you are losing your root and a manual re-root + restore has to be done all over again right? Only my China set was rooted and not the Msian set This is my Msian set being updated Yes you will lose root if update using such a method but your data will still be intact

QUOTE(funnyman @ May 31 2016, 05:14 PM) hi uncle Benny, if i download the zip file direct from my phone instead of in a pc for transfer, do i still need to copy all the contents to dload folder? kindly educate me. thank you sir. Seriously I had no idea HW phones based on all my HW experience ( Mate 6.1, X1, p8max, mate7) always look for dload folder in updating You can try without doing anything n just leave update.zip in phone Anyway is it that susah to copy the extracted contents into a dload folder?
