QUOTE(danieltan @ Nov 7 2016, 04:12 PM) If the battery performance more better more than mate 8. Totally win my heart switch to iPhone. So far my SOT on mate 8 can exceed 6 to 7 SOT based my moderate gaming. Hard to believe if SOT iPhone can more better than mate 8. QUOTE(loongzai2 @ Nov 7 2016, 04:33 PM) Yes I'm impressed with the battery life. Standby management is good too. For me, the Mate 8 is the only Android flagship that I have used so far with a battery that doesn't run out of juice before I reach home from work daily (heavy user). Maybe 4,000 mAh is the sweet spot for battery capacity in Android (my previous Note 5 with 3,000 mAh wasn't cutting it). Previously was using a 6S Plus and I would say the standby power management is unrivaled. In terms of SOT, between my 6S Plus and the Mate 8, I would say it's fairly about the same, but to me, what is important is I don't have to charge my phone or carry a power bank with me all the time as I move around a lot. But android system stil more user friendly to me Am waiting to get the 7 Plus so will only comment on it's battery performance then |

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ Nov 16 2016, 09:15 PM) I take this test as inaccurate, last time when the article was posted, people who owned those phones tested in real life scenario and Mate 8 still beats 6p and S7E. If I'm not mistaken, it was Benny888 I don't own an S7 Edge so I can't comment on the accuracy of that article, but I do know that the Mate 8's battery life is the best of all Android flagships I've owned thus far. I've had a Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2, so I have a rough idea of the power management on Samsung's TouchWiz, so it could be true that the S7E may not outlast the Mate 8 in real life scenario. |

QUOTE(KAWAII GIFT @ Nov 17 2016, 09:19 AM) just sold my p9+ to mate 8 4/64, due to some personal reason. I think the phone's hardware setup is good to go for another two years, at least. Very decent specs. But good resale value is doubtful. Recently at the 11/11 sale, Harvey Norman had a buy one free one for this phone, RM2,399 for two phones! Can see new ones being advertised at RM1600 to RM1800 at Garage Sale aready, so half a year from now I think the value will be much lower.hopefully this can serve me for another at least half year and have a good resell value |

On B193 as well. Currently the Mate 8 is being used by my son to play Pokémon Go
(And in case anyone is wondering, the best I got out of the Mate 8 battery so far is just slightly over 6 hours of Pokémon Go |

QUOTE(Al Puccino @ Nov 27 2016, 09:37 AM) After using this phone for a month, i think the camera is good or at least not as bad/mediocre as what the 'experts' reviewed. Sad too see reviewers bombarded an otherwise great all rounder phone. The camera -in my humble opinion- is better than my previous Note 5. I had the Note 5 before I switched to the Mate 8 and my own opinion is that the photo quality is equally good in good lighting but in low light conditions the Note 5 had better photos. Well, for me, that is. Still, I'd take the Mate 8 over the Note 5 just because the battery life is far superior.Anybody else think the same? |

QUOTE(kelvin988 @ Dec 13 2016, 06:45 PM) Hello, can i ask about review of this phone pro and cons? How about its camera? Pros: -Thinking want to get this phone for rm 1.3k or not which is used 1 month only - Excellent built quality - Very fast fingerprint reader - Good battery life - Smooth and lag-free (disclaimer: During my usage I didn't play graphic intensive games) Cons: - - Official updates are slow - EMUI - you either love it or can't stand it - Camera is average, especially in low light conditions Anyways, it's a good buy. I bought the phone at RM1,599 minus 12% discount at an online retailer couple of months ago, so that's about RM 1,408. So for 1.3k, I'd probably consider topping up a bit and getting a new one instead. This post has been edited by attw: Dec 14 2016, 08:27 AM |

QUOTE(Al Puccino @ Dec 14 2016, 11:34 AM) Buy online can get around 1.4k+ NEW set for 32GB. Yeah, I saw an ad in garage sale selling a new 4GB/64GB for RM1650. Would have considered it if I've not tried the phone yet but I had Performance wise between the two (4GB version of Mate 8) is almost the same. They share the same hardware though. But, i think Mate 8 is somehow better. Plus the metal build. Sublime. Buy Honor 8 if: 1. Want better camera. On par with P9. While Mate 8 camera is not bad at all. I think its great. 2. Small sized phone 3. Love the design. Buy Mate 8 if: 1. Want better battery life. Obvious. 2. Large sized phone, easy for you to read. productivity, etc. 3. Don't want phone become fingerprint magnet. Metal build sturdy af. For my money? ---> Mate 8. |
