Yes, under sunlight it goes max. That's normal for most phones.Huawei Mate 8 forum discussion V2, The truly premium flagship?

Ok. Had my second random reboot this morning. Will send the phone in for warranty claim once I get my hands on the 7 Plus. A pity though, I was just starting to like the phone. Something's up, hopefully it's just the firmware.

QUOTE(ikanbilis @ Oct 11 2016, 09:01 AM) Nowadays a lot of phone discount from Lazada and Gemfive. For example can get Mi max at RM735 (msia set) at Gemfive. What is the advantage of Mate 8 over mi max that almost double the price? I'm not into MIUI so I can't answer that. In terms of pure specs, the Mate 8 trumps the Mi Max as it is flagship grade, but in terms of real usage, maybe Uncle Benny can reply as he owned both devices before. |

QUOTE(ikanbilis @ Oct 11 2016, 09:26 AM) Actually I have confidence in huawei phones. I'm using the Huawei 5x which i bought for RM799 half year ago. Recently I updated it to Android Marshmellow and the phone is still very fluid and never give me any problems. I don't game on my phone, so i'm actually finding a reason to upgrade it to Mate 8. Or should I wait for Mate 9? I also used the Honor 5x for a while, excellent phone at that price point. For me, if you can wait and can afford it, then wait for the Mate 9, which will come at a price of a new flagship, approximately RM 2,000 and above. The Mate 8 on the other hand is such a good bargain now, and since Android phones drop in value so fast, I prefer not to get them at launch but to wait like 6 months down the road or longer. But that's just my personal preference.http://www.phonearena.com/news/Huawei-Mate...minutes_id86348 |

The Mate 8 feels nice but I still can't get used to the UI after a week. The notifications are inconsistent and I definitely miss having notification badges on some of my apps. Also not a fan of the Ultra Battery Saving Mode that disables everything except calls and sms. That's a bit extreme and no alternatives offered.

QUOTE(kamikraze @ Oct 14 2016, 07:24 PM) Mate 8 camera shot is more natural compared to g4's.. and indeed Mate 8 smoother too. but I need more time to get use to the EMUI eco system. hence will affect how I operate my phone on daily usage. Same here, am still trying to get used to EMUI. Otherwise this is a very well built phone with the most outrageous battery life I've ever used in an Android. |

QUOTE(samsungXP @ Oct 21 2016, 05:41 PM) Still using the ori SP that came with the phone, so far no problems yet so am not hunting for tempered glass just yet. If I remember correctly, you're in JB right? Plenty of tempered glass available at KSL. |
