hey guys..my gf is have a V3628TU laptop..bought without os..but wanna install XP time,couldt...says cant detect hard disk or something...anyone mind offering a hand of help to this problem? tried install vista d,but surprisingly can wor...only winxp kenot...

when i purchase this model, the salesman told me same thing too ...

if wanna install xp, got to use some device from IBM only can install .... if i recall correctly

for vista, can direct install easily ..

oh..where can i get the IBM thingy?? download-able???

I'm going to buy the Presario 3614AU this weekend. So I go to HP website to find the driver for WinXp but it only has a few like HP Quick Launch Buttons, Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver, HP Wireless Assistant, HP Software Update while Vista OS has a lot of drivers.

Where can I find all the necessary driver for my laptop? Can I use the driver for V3000, V3100 or V3200 on the 1st page for V3614AU? Thanks for your help.

have you try to install it manually from device manager ? i had no problem installing sound and modem drivers on my 3614au (winxp)

yeap drivers from page 1 is compatible, follow those instruction on page 1 and you'll be fine

i've a lil bit prob. i'm using compaq presarion V3133. This series have a modem with name : HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with Smart CP.

The prob is...i'm currently bought maxis broadband wireless package. but..when i put my LAN cable (networked my lappy n terminal) , the webpage was not appear even the terminal showed detected signal from my ISP. but when i test it on my friendz lappy (that use PCI Fast Ethernet) ..everything going smooth.

so..i'm bit confused...wherether my lappy don't have specific modem that required to get internet on-line.

Thx, i've alreay bought the laptop, everything s going well except that the backlight bleeding at the bottom of the screen is quite bad
I'm not sure if i can ask for a replacement for this problem or not, just one day of usage

Bought Compaq Presario V3614AU just before raya, AMD version. would like to join you guys. Installed Vista Premium, 1.5 G ram (added 1 pc 1G). No problem playing CS condition zero & Unreal Tournament Demo but can feel the heat on top part near the proc cos I'm not using cooling pad. Just test run the game for 15 mins. When playing Zuma, it seems to be lagging. Dunno whether Vista support Zuma .

anyone know how to change brightness of the screen?? sorry for being noob but i just got my laptop today.

u can change the brightness in the power options
