2 main reason they choose AMD
1. AMD more cheaper in price.
2. AMD using nVidia gf6150 that have a better performance than intel GMA 950.

The latest AMD dont hv major overheat problem alr la. especially turion 64 X2, u may use the powernow to save up ur battery.

If u want to run vista or gaming better take V3222 come with GF6150(which better than GMA). All u need is upgrade ur RAM to 1 or 1.5 Gb.

so far kingston is ok. Better take to the shop install n test over there. See whenever can support dual channel or not. Is prefer returnable if the RAM cant functional or incompatible.

I think not worth to get this model with this price lo. RM3999 no dedicated Gpu(intel GMA somemore shakehead.gif ),vista home basic only(no aero function)

For me with this price, I will get the HP pavillion DV6205TX.The processor speed is slower but if suppot vista with aero,This is better.It comes with vista home premium,GF7400 dedicated GPU,remote control(for multimedia use),15.4"LCD,lightscribe enable dvd writer..

Or customise at dell (inspiron 6400), U ll say "wow" there icon_idea.gif

Its there a big difference? Can I do videoediting on both machine?

As for Dell, I help my niece to purchase the 6400 last mth.  If Dell should have 24mths 0% installment than I would have ordered from them.

Yup..DV6205Tx using core duo T2250(1.73ghz) but the speed is fast enough for u to edit video. so far not must different. U can take ur application go to the shop test n see brows.gif

Notes: core duo can not run vista X64bit. sad.gif

v3164 obselete alr. Now replace by v3222. The v3164 spec is almost the same with v3222 just the RAM is 256MB while the v3222 come with 512MB.

Besides that, The processor also different which v3222 come with TL-50(256kbx2 L2 cache) and v3203 come with TL-52(512kbx2 L2 cache).

Wow..v3222 not only model replacement for v3164 but also sales replacement. rclxms.gif B4 that v3164 also always lack of stock cos too many order. I saw one of forumer (ajul) got stock ready. May be his business not as good as u. biggrin.gif

My friend using kingston brand on his v3000. so far no error was found. I am not sure with the other brand.

I cant install my WinXP on my V3218TU, it says "Setup cannot find any hard-drive"

but i was able to boot the FreeDos. However, it says only 5.0GB free space left.

it sounds like the hard-disk is not yet formatted by the manufacturer.

Any ideas ??

Try another win xp sp2 disc. My friend also having the same problem but it solved after buy another version of sp2. May be that version cant support or got error. U using xp sp1 or lower? Try to change other version than that n see could help or not.
