If I do interbank funds transfer from my OCBC 360 savings account to my other bank accounts, can it be considered as paying bills to qualify for the extra 1.3%?

QUOTE(rojakwhacker @ Jul 25 2019, 09:25 PM) I guess should be possible Info from: https://www.ocbc.com.my/assets/pdf/Accounts...unt_TnC_ENG.pdf3.4. (a) A “Bill Payment” means a payment from the Eligible Customer’s OCBC 360 Account made : (i) through retail payment channel of OCBC Online Banking or OCBC Internet Banking to : (a) the Eligible Customer’s OCBC/OCBC Al-Amin home loan facility; or (b) any account with any bank or financing institution other than OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad; or © any participating billing organisations; or including payment by Interbank GIRO conducted through OCBC Online Banking / OCBC Internet Banking, but excluding any payment by the Financial Process Exchange (FPX) platform; or (ii) pursuant to standing instruction to the Eligible Customer’s OCBC home loan facility. rojackwhacker Thanks. QUOTE(CardNoob @ Jul 25 2019, 10:04 PM) Any difference between DuitNow and IBFT? They're basically the same under PayNet. CardNoob Its just that when duitnow came out and till now, the banks were basically forcing one to use duitnow. Your account would automatically be chosen to use duitnow unless you actively remove it. Don't like this kind of force/pushy tactic. Really a big turn off. Plus using phone # etc, didn't really feel so secure. Maybe, when duitnow is more prevalent, I will use it. But hopefully not so soon.

QUOTE(sidefulnes @ Jul 26 2019, 08:45 AM) Yup IBFT is considered as bill payment. Just transfer to your account used for credit card payment is already considered as one bill payment. If you have several, Bob's your uncle post deleted This post has been edited by abcn1n: Jul 26 2019, 06:32 PM

If you have several, Bob's your uncle sidefulnes Need your help. Today I tried to do the funds transfer. Had to add bank account first. OCBC asked for transfer type (3 choices ie credit card payment, funds transfer, loan payment). Its ok if I choose 'funds transfer' instead of 'credit card payment' right? Am not paying any credit card bills, just want to transfer to my other bank accounts to get the 1.3% interest.

QUOTE(cklimm @ Jul 27 2019, 07:07 PM) cklimm Thanks but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. Too dangerous. I guess I'll just take some risk to use my OCBC debit card to pay for stuff rather than CIMB credit card.

Has anybody tried to pay online with OCBC360 mydebit card before? I transferred some $ to my e-wallet this evening but several hours later, my OCBC360 savings account online still haven't shown $ deducted although my e-wallet has received the $. I don't have a credit card. My card clearly stated its mydebit mastercard. When I did interbank transfer yesterday, the account updated very fast but now with debit card, no change in account balance/details? [Edit to add --$ finally deducted although no details of the transaction shown. ] Also, I changed my phone # at the branch. But then TAC still sent to my old phone # while normal messages sent to my new phone #. Anybody know why this is so and how to overcome it? Faced this problem with both OCBC and Ambank. Already told them the new phone # is for everything--TAC and all communication This post has been edited by abcn1n: Jul 27 2019, 11:34 PM

Trying to get the additional 1.3% interest for spending of $500 and above for debit card. So I spent $500 in July (about $250 on 31/7). Noticed that for eg: if my transaction was 26 July, the details may only be captured on 31 July. So if my transaction is 31 July, then details most likely will be in August, does that mean then, I don't get the additional 1.3% interest in July?

QUOTE(sidefulnes @ Aug 2 2019, 08:25 AM) No worries. FYI, 1.3%x3 has rolled out sidefulnes Thanks. Just checked, and yes it is in. Lost 1.3% interest as although my $500 spending was done in July, but part of it was only captured in August. If I knew, I would not have rushed to spend by July. QUOTE(sidefulnes @ Aug 2 2019, 01:09 PM) Sorry I don't understand what you meant... By right, your 1.3%x3 earn in July will only reflect in August. If you didn't spend in July, you will not get the 1.3%x3 today. sidefulnes Only got 1.3% *2 instead of 1.3%*3 which was reflected in August. That's because although I did spend $500 in July but some of my spending was only captured in August. Thus, OCBC deemed that I didn't meet the $500 spending criteria in July.

QUOTE(rojakwhacker @ Aug 2 2019, 10:20 PM) You cannot stop spending, still have to continue spending RM500 per month to meet 1.3% spending criteria. Looks like 0.2% base interest is credit on 31th of each month and 1.3% x 3 is credit on 2nd of following month (if all went smooth). rojakwhacker Haha. Yeah, still need to meet $500/mth. Yeap, 0.2% interest on 31st and the rest of the interest next month
