One of the TnC for Aeon balance transfer:-

For each Cardholder account, this Balance Transfer programme is available to Cardholders once every 6 months effective from the posting date of the Balance Transfer amount. Further Balance Transfer application will not be considered until expiry of 6 months after the last approved Balance Transfer amount is posted to Cardholder account.

Has anyone paid off their BT earlier (less than 6 mths) and apply for another BT before the expiry of 6 months and still get the BT approved?

I understand that we cant BT to supplementary card (experience from Public Bank, Alliance Bank) but can we BT from Mr.A's supplementary card to Mr.A's principal card?

Regarding HSBC's BT program, let say I have RM3,000 (1st BT) with HSBC at 0% for 3mths . If I do another BT of RM5,000 without clearing my 1st BT (outstanding still have RM2,000), will I get interest charge? This is because I understand that there is no more 20 days interest free after having 1st BT and everyone would suggest to keep the card in drawer. I will call CS to confirm, but at the mean time, appreciate any advice or experience HSBC BT user. Thank you in advance!

check faq post #1

I have checked the faq before posting it and it doesnt address my concern. I know I cant BT Mr.A Bank A principal card to Mr.A's Bank B supplementary card, but can I do it other way round (BT Mr.A's Bank B supplementary card to Mr.A's Bank A principal card)?

It is still the same owner and name but different bank. The difference here is where it involves principal card and supplementary card of different banks (I know cant BT from same bank between principal and supplementary).

if not mistaken, supplementary card acc is tied to principal

since principal for both card is different, cannot do

but you can always try and see if it works or u can call cs to ask and feedback here

Thanks. I will call the CS although I feel that likely it is not gonna get thru.

Anyone has tried BT of supp card?
*
I have tried BT from my supp card in Bank A to my principal card in Bank B, apparently unsuccessful/ rejected because the bank only accept BT from principal card to principal card under the same name.

Extremely impressed with MBB online BT. Applied on 20 Sep via M2U online without statement or anything, within the next few hours got the sms said the STP request is approved. 21 Sep MBB already paid the amount to the respective banks, almost like instant, didnt even ask for any supporting document/ statement/ verification.

Anyone tried before to transfer the excess $ from MBB credit to MBB Saving Acc?
*
Done that before not because on purpose few years back. Called CS, they ask for the reason to transfer the cash and say it will take place (i think) 10 working days. I didnt track which working day the money was refunded into CASA.

No nd to worry about not getting 3% waiver, more like the concern is on whether 6% GST is eventually waived.

T&C on the MBB 0% 12 mths instalments:-
5. Campagin Mechanic
vi. The fee allocated for the waiver is only up to RM3.6M for 6 months campaign duration.
The campaign will be automatically stop upon fund has fully depleted.

Yup, posted earlier that within hours, received sms that the STP request is approved. The next day, MBB has already paid all the 3 cards at amount of RM927.89, RM190 and RM833.34 (Total of RM1,951.23).

No question, no statement request, no phone call received from MBB.

So far so good with MBB BT application via M2u. Did BT (after my statement date of 15 oct) on 17 Oct and 24 Oct, one time charge and GST 6% charged on the respective dates. on 7 Nov, the waivers for both the BT came in and hence in my statement date of 15 Nov, net effect of the BT one time charge and GST is knocked off and I dont need to pay for it first.

Even if the waiver came in after statement date before your next due date, you cant pay more than your statement balance, hence you wont be paying the one time charge and GST on the BT anyway.

Eh the hsbc balance transfer for new card member is 0% installment for 3 mths. Wondering this got any catch like admin fee?
*
You need to check and confirm with the HSBC BT officer on the admin fee - 03 2059 9300. When I first got the HSBC card earlier this year, I was called up regarding the 3 months interest free BT. So I confirm with the officer that no one time fee, no interest if paid the balance due by due date in time etc making sure I wont pay a single sen for the BT, I then proceed with the BT.

Once you have done BT to your HSBC cc, you need to STOP using this card for retail because every single sen swiped after our BT amount has been charged to your credit card, you will be charged at the normal interest rate (i think is 18%). This is also highlighted by the BT officer. You need to closely monitor the balance and payment to this cc once you have BT to this card.

Let say you have BT RM3,000 to HSBC cc,
1) Month 1: your statement will shows a STATEMENT balance of RM3,000 with minimum amount due of RM150 (say, by 1st of the month 2). You need to settle minimum of RM150 by 1st of month 2.

2) Month 2: [Assuming you only pay RM150 on 1st of month 2] statement balance RM2,850 with minimum amount due of RM142.50 (due by 1st of month 3). you then need to settle minimum RM142.50 by 1st of month 3.

3) Month 3: [Assuming you only pay RM142.50 on 1st of month 3] statement balance of RM2,707.50 with minimum amount due of RM135.40 (due by 1st of month 4). Here comes the catch. As you know it is only interest free BT for 3 months, by end of month 3, you NEED to settle the full statement balance of RM2,707.50 if you do not want to incur interest at all by 1st of month 4.

I have experience 3 BTs with HSBC, where some are overlapping each other. So you need to know which round of BT to be settled by when and not just blindly following the minimum amount due - otherwise, you will get hit with interest. HSBC tends to offer 0% 6 months BT for the first 6 months for new cc. If this offer is still around, you can do interest free BT for unlimited times within the 6 months up to certain percentage of your credit limit.

The key to get interest free BT from HSBC is:-
1) not to spend on retail for this cc after you have done your BT
2) monitor very closely your balances especially if you have multiple BTs with them. Make sure you pay off each round of the BT balance at the end of the BT interest free period.

Just to share that MBB 0% BT promotion has ended.

Quoted from the website "Balance Transfer 0% p.a for 12 months APPROVED AFTER THE CAMPAIGN END date (31 DECEMBER 2016) WILL NOT BE REWARDED with 0% upfront fee"

Thank you for your notification! I thought of doing BT this month, so seems like no chance already.

where is it shown?

what is "online banking page"? M2U or general website?

I think someone mentioned this earlier but I could not find it.

MBB BT programme has always been 0% for 12 months AND there will be One time up-front fee of 3%.

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards

It is only during promo where the one time up-front fee of 3% (incl GST) is waived.

I had applied 3 mths 0% BT when I got my HSBC Amanah card last year. It is really first 2 mths just need to pay 5% minimum payment, and balance 90% payable on 3rd mth. This round is 12 mths 0% BT, that's why I double confirm again..
*
It is true that for HSBC, it works different way. I find it easier to illustrate it with number, refer below:-

Let say I have RM12,000 BT to HSBC, 1st month cc statement came, statement balance is RM12,000 and minimum due is RM600, you just need to pay RM600.

Second month, statement balance of RM11,400 and minimum payment is RM570, you just need to pay RM570.

The catch here is when you have multiple BT with HSBC and it is all 0% BT, the payment concept is still the same but you need to take note when each BT is due.

The following example below shows how you should pay when you have multiple 0% BT overlapping each other with HSBC:-

a) BT 1 approved on 1 January 2017, amount is RM6,000, BT period is 6 months - you need to take note that for this portion, you need to fully settled the BT balance by 6 months. If your payment due date is 28 January 2017, means that you need to settle in full by 28 June 2017.

b) BT 2 approved on 1 February 2017, amount is RM3,000, BT period is also 6 months. Bear in mind to settle full balance by 28 July 2017.

Please refer to the picture below for calculation on how you should make the payment to avoid any interest and enjoy the 0% BT.

This is ultra helpful. Thanks, I'm sure many people will find this useful.

How does this work when you have retail purchases as well? Do you still pay just the minimum statement amount?
*
Once BT to HSBC, no more retail transaction. the card is kept in the drawer and was never used for retail transaction, so it was just for the 0% BT promo for new HSBC cc holder. Called to cancel the cc and plan to reapply when there is acquisition promo again. The RM688 was a very good deal for now. smile.gif

My BT is approved and transacted on 11th Jan, my next statement date is 8th Feb, payment due date 28th Feb, therefore my last instalment to make full payment for BT is 28th Jan 18?
*
If it is a 12 months 0% BT, then yes. The first payment is calculated based on your first payment due after the BT is approved. From there, you count 12 months.

Well the problem is, maximum BT is 6000, to eligible 688 cashback tier, need to spend 6888 (inclusive BT). Hm still need to swipe 888 amount after successful BT
*
I thought it is 60% of your credit limit? If your credit limit is RM30,000, then you can BT RM18k and get RM688 cash back. Correct me if I am wrong as I am not eligible for this welcome offer.

Called to cancel my HSBC credit card and the cancellation dept called back and said there is offer of 0% BT for 6 months. So I didnt cancel and proceed with BT.

Apparently, the officer said that the offer is ongoing for existing HSBC platinum credit card holder and whenever I wanna do 0% 6 months BT to my HSBC cc, I will then nd to call up HSBC card to check whether the promo still available. So I will continue to call the cancellation dept to do future BT. Minimum RM1k per card.
