i thought the 0% balance transfer is for new to bank customer only

That is what I thought. Probably because this is from the retention dept hence so called that the promo is actually ongoing.

Where to see maximum limit?
Another question, my balance available balance shown in M2U left only 5k but my next BT to pay HLB cc is 16k. My latest MBB CC statement balance is 5k due. Can I pay to my MBB CC account say 13k (statement balance 5k + over payment of 8k) in order to bring up my latest available balance to 18k so that I have sufficient credit to do the BT 16k to HLB CC?
*
Do take note that the maximum balance that you BT is NOT the available balance but the Max BT limit. Your available balance could be RM5k but look at the maximum BT balance, could be only RM2k.

I would think that if you made an overpayment (assuming your max BT bal is RM2k) of RM16k, you might have sufficient credit to do the BT of RM16k from HLB CC. Just check the maximum BT balance whether it has increased after you have made the overpayment. Alternatively, you can always check with the CS to see what are the other ways to do it.

my UOB BT payment is messed up coz of auto apportion. They split the payment but dont know using what ratio or formula. The CS also cant tell me. Anyone know?

Now my YOLO card payment is short by about 50. Im affraid if i do another payment to YOLO for the shorted balance it will do another split again. But CS say wont. I try now and see how tomorrow the result. I ask her to disable the auto apportion thing. Still need 4 days to process while my due is this Friday.
*
Got messed up once in Feb 2017 when I BT from UOB while haveing 2 UOB cards with balance. According to the CS, they will pay off the minimum balance in each card then only settle the remaining amount in the CC that you want to pay.

E.g. you have UOB CC 1 with balance RM500 and UOB CC 2 with balance RM800. When you do BT RM800 into UOB CC 2, UOB will take RM50 and pay off the minimum balance in UOB CC 1, then the balance of RM750 to UOB CC 2. So your balance unpaid for UOB CC 1 and UOB CC 2 is RM450 and RM750 each.

I saw from another post that you can make a 1 short payment to one of the UOB CC, then call CS to transfer the overpayment of that one UOB CC to another UOB CC. Have not tried that but I think it should be able to work that way.

Agent told me to settle on the Statement Date of the 6th Month to avoid any charges..
Don't pay too early else you get charge RM70, pay late you charge 1.5% interest per month
*
The cs (yen) stated that can only settle one day after statement date and not on the statement date itself. She said follow the expiration date which hlb will send out to notify us. Contradicting info here.

Based on my past experience with HLB, u need to settle 1 day after your statement date for ur 6th installment to avoid early settlement penalty n late payment interest.

My statement date is 3rd n I paid on 4th, I'm safe with no early settlement n interest. My tactic is clear the outstanding balance n left RM5 in the BT acc, n pay RM5 on 4th (1 day after statement date)

Thank you very much for sharing ur experience. At least it is tested. biggrin.gif

Just quick Chronology update
14-Apr : Receive SMS on HLB BT offer
18-Apr : Call received from HLB BT specialist
19-Apr : 2nd call from HLB to submit card details
21-Apr : HLB BT account created
21-Apr : HLB transfer money to my MBB CC

So I guess the process is pretty efficient from HLB
*
Agreed, same like MBB (2 working days to pay other cc). HLB also tfr money to my CC after 2 working days.

But for Aeon Credit, the lady called me up and explained that it would take around 10 working days. So, the BT is good for banks other than aeon credit.

As for the Hong Leong 0% BT, I did not receive SMS invitation, but when i called and asked CS told me i also entitled,
told me read the T&C at website.

But i cant find the T&C on the 0% BT from HLB website, anybody can help point out where to read?

Can you update when you get the info? I want to participate but didn't receive the SMS too.
*
I am not sure whether the following is correct, but when I google [hong leong balance transfer 6 months 0% "2017"], this is what I get.

And I could not find the 6months 0% BT from the HL website too.

https://www.hlb.com.my/main/assets/files/in...-conditions.pdf

To permanently increase credit limit, you need to find the form, fill up and sign. Dont bother looking for an email address as I only got the email address from customer service. You may fax the form for permanent increase CL to HLB.

Anyone managed to do BT with MBB via online or encounter any issue when applying the BT via M2U system? I have been getting reject code [0060] and thought it is only my problem. My colleague face the same problem too, cant apply via online. When he called the Maybank CS, CS stated that there is problem with the system.

Will resort to emailing them the BT form since the online application through M2U is not available to me.

just receive call from hong leong bank offering 0% BT for 6 mths, up to 90% of credit limit.
has any one accepted the offer? any special t&c need to be alert?
*
use the Search function and type "HLB" and "hong leong". For the keywords on "HLB", you will see several forumers who had reported the tnc and the method of the BT done by HLB. Good luck!

since we can use BT pbb supp card (under our own name) to MBB, anyone has trasnferred excess to pbb supp card and then call the cs to transfer the excess to offset the payment for pbb principal card?

i.e. pbb supp card statement balance RM1,000 and pbb principal card (not under my name) statement balance RM1,500. Do BT to MBB at RM2,500. pbb supp card will have excess RM1,500 and call cs to transfer the excess to principal card and knock off the RM1,500.

update: I will report if this is successfully performed. MBB has approved the BT to PBB supp card.

Who needs to make the call in this case, the supp card holder or the principal card holder?
*
Both also can call CS but need principal cardholder around for CS to do the verification.

In my case, I call the CS and say wanna transfer to principal and other supp. CS asked to talk to principal cardholder for verification purpose only, after that I (as supp cardholder) continue to talk to CS and instruct how much to transfer to the respective cards.

Tips - if the principal cardholder and yourself (supp cardholder) is of same gender, you can even talk in the capacity of principal cardholder. For my case, my husband was the principal cardholder and hence i need to pass to him for the verification.

I need help on the HLB 0% 12 months installment BT. Referring to the T&C clause below.
Let's say my CC statement date 9th of every month which is due on 29th.

I see the following notice in my CC statement:- PLEASE NOTE THAT NORMAL 18% PA INTEREST RATE APPLIES AS THE SPECIAL INTEREST RATE EXPIRES ON 09032019
1st installment due 29-Mar-18
11th installment due 1-Feb-19
Last installment due 29-Mar-19

With that, is that mean I will be charged 18% if I pay my last installment on 29-Mar-19? Will there be any penalty of RM70.00 if I pay the last installment on 8-Mar-19?

Where can I find the info about expiry date of my BT tenure?

Thanks.
*
Based on my experience, better to pay on 10 Mar 2019. I take it as expire on 09 Mar 2019 meaning until 12am of 09 Mar 2019. As long as u clear it before 11:59pm of 10 Mar 2019, you wont get slapped by the penalty. I have been settling mine 1 day after the special interest rate expiry date and the BT account will dissappear automatically.

*
To make it Simple, 11:59pm of 9 mar 2019.

Usually I settle most of it and leave rm1 by the expiry. E.g. comes 9 mar 19, don't pay and the balance of bt is rm1.Then deposit rm1 cash into cash deposit machine on 10 mar 19 or do online banking to settle rm1. By then, hopefully, ibg n ibft is free for all banks. In short, settle full balance one day after the expiry date stated on the statement for each bt.

Those who have uob 0% interest BT, take note that BT expiry date is 6 mths from the date of fund disbursed. Let say 1 may is where ur statement records the fund tfr to other bank, if it's 6 mths BT, expiry date is 1 Nov and nt the statement date or due date. This date is nt stated on the statement so u gotta track urself.

Had a word with the telemarketer and she said it's 6 mths after fund disbursed for 6 mths 0%bt. Say 24 may u see the BT transaction in Cc statement, expiry is 23nov. No penalty on early settlement

received call from UOB to offer 12 months 0% interest BT, this time is the conventional type whereby the installment is split evenly across 12 months (like MBB, Aeon and PBB) instead of paying the min 5% monthly then balance at end of the month. Good move to keep their customer not cancelling the cc due to Card CST next year, which they are unlikely to waive the CST next year

Anyone has experience doing BT with UOB before? I saw that they charged the full BT amount to my latest statement so now my total balance due is BT amount + CC swipe. I heard that it was a reducing amount BT or something like that. Does this means I only need to pay minimum payment amount for the BT and not incur any charges? So I no need to pay the full payment right? Just to confirm.
*
QUOTE(fruitie @ May 1 2019, 01:43 AM)
Yes, will not be the same date. I think it's approval date + 6 months (if your BT is 6 months).
*
Fruitie is right in a way. I have called UOB before and for this kind of plan (5% min first few months and balance on expiry date), the expiry date is 6 months from the date that the BT was shown in your statement. If your first BT date is 1 May 2019, then the expiry is 1 Nov 2019. One thing good bout UOB, i have managed to call in to waive the finance charges and interest many times and every single time, it was approved (also due to their auto apportionment issue that my payment was not captured).

be extra mindful that new card T&Cs have been revised with different formula of calculation on minimum payment.

you cannot escape paying "less" for those installment-type tranactions -- eg flexi payments, balance transfers, etc. it will be charged at 100%.

even if you willing to pay the new min amount, the interest will still in effect on the outstanding.

example from Alliance:

Meaning no issue if i continue to pay the statement balance for all cc right?

Thanks @guy3288 that i tried my second BT with Aeon within 6 months (my first was May) and Aeon called to confirm and approve this BT (now is Aug). Just ngam ngam my credit limit for the BT this mth. Cool info and experience shared by @guy3288, if not i still bodoh bodoh wait until end of the year only do my 2nd BT.

Caviet is that must make sure that credit limit x 80% is available for BT. Looks like Aeon Credit is still up for BT business!
