QUOTE(matrix88 @ Mar 6 2018, 05:49 PM) today scb called, offer 1.88% interest for BT. the rate is lower than FD, can make money if i take it Better check your maths. 1.88% interest on BT doesn't make money when put in 3+% interest FD, because you still need to pump money back to BT every month while FD must hold till end of tenure. That money could have earned you interest. |

My PBB statement date is 24th, and my MBB statement due date is 26th (Saturday). When's a safe time to apply PBB BT such that it won't appear in next statement (get one more month for repayment) but pays my MBB on time?

Update, I applied mid-morning on 23rd, got my statement on 24th, and yesterday evening (25th) still nothing appeared on my PBB account.Today (26th) morning when I log in I see the deductions, but it's dated 25th May (so was processed sometime yesterday evening till night time. Still waiting for money to appear in my target accounts, but based on previous examples I think fairly safe, as it takes a day or so only, only worried about it being weekend (am paying minimum just to minimize any potential charges). PBB really quite efficient. |

QUOTE(chonghe @ Jun 15 2018, 10:43 AM) Did you guys pay all BT without any problem? If no discipline to manage spending don't use BT and CC at all, will dig deeper hole for yourself.I felt so good to BT and drag the payment for 6/12 months I felt so hard when the BT all turn up together in my cc bills. It wasn't easy for me. Using cc really need discipline One easy way for those who don't do too much tracking, just monitor one number (total BT amount) and make sure you have enough liquidity for that. Can leave in those savings accounts which generate higher interest (like M2u-savers-I or similar), just make sure that amount more than your outstanding BT amount. If you think can't keep the full BT amount in savings, then you are probably getting yourself in trouble. |

QUOTE(lamode @ Jun 27 2018, 04:19 PM) requested MBB to transfer 10k to SA few days ago, just now got a call asking about the source of funds, and officer specifically asked if it was BT and from what bank. No disadvantage to MBB, the cost isn't borne by them, so no reason to change SOPI answered truthfully and was told will be processed. But guys, I am having a bad feeling that the game is ending soon... |

QUOTE(barneysteinsson @ Jul 3 2018, 12:39 PM) guys, quick question BT is a trap if you can't repay. Increasing CL just for BT is a bad sign in terms of your financial handling. There's a reason banks give the CL they give, it's based on their judgement how much you can repay.if salary is 4k per month, how much max credit limit could bank give ? now cimb gave me 10k, bsn 5k, maybank 5k wanna increase my credit limit for bt |

QUOTE(barneysteinsson @ Jul 3 2018, 01:43 PM) I dont know u can assess one's financial capabilities just with one forum post, but thank you for your concern. I'm not assessing your financial capabilities, the bank is. Their actuaries gauge your capability for repayment to give you the CL you have.Im using bt as a way to increase my wealth n not to procure something beyond my means If you have additional resources they are not aware off then of course they could be mistaken. However it's a pretty safe bet their estimates are pretty good, this is literally their job and the way they make money. |

QUOTE(btan @ Jul 30 2018, 10:55 PM) Which poison kill you slowest? Which bridge you jump from take longest to die?Don't do cash advance period. Interested rate not worth it. If desperate for small amount get a BigPay card and reload it from other CC. Then can withdraw FROM ATM. At least no interest beyond the rm6 withdrawal fee throughout the interest free period. |

QUOTE(boyboy3663 @ Aug 16 2018, 03:38 PM) Hi, I never do balance transfer before, hope all sifu here can advice: 1. Depends on bank A, some of them require statement so cannot transfer more than your statement amount of bank B. Maybank and PBB do not require statement.1. I can transfer ANY amount from my cc outstanding from bank A to bank B, as long as bank B has sufficient limit? or the balance transfer amount is based on my one time purchasing amount? 2. I have installment plan in bank A for 24m but I wish to settle it fast, can I transfer the outstanding balance to bank B with shorter period, let say 6m? 2. Early settlement is a different topic, and may incur some charges depending on situation. Not suitable for discussion here. |

QUOTE(eastwest @ Sep 4 2018, 11:19 AM) Do I need to inform Bank A first so that they will 'release' the full amount? Right now, my bank A statement show only the installment amount. Some Bank B (Maybank and PBB) don't require statement anyway, so you can still BT the full amount (your 4.5K).How Bank A handles that is up to them. Some will charge for early settlement. I've never tried (why go for longer repayment just to pay it back early?). |

Dammit MBB so efficient. My statement date is 6th Sep (and the card I want to BT to is 13th Sep due date) so I thought evening apply BT on 6th is safe for next statement... already charged to card on same day! So effectively I paying 1 month earlier for everything....

QUOTE(MGM @ Oct 17 2018, 02:59 AM) I think alexanderclz was giving a good solution to take out the excess fund by topping up BP with HL CC n then withdraw it. Even if the CC does not give CB for topping up, can still be a good idea. Cost is RM6 for each 3000 withdrawal, or about 0.2%, which is about the value of your standard points-earning card. Note the monthly 10k limit for BP though. Best to go to the BigPay topic to learn more.In fact good solution for anyone: (1) who has excess funds in CC that gives CB for topping up BP or (2) who wants to meet their annual CC min spend requirement for AF waiver purpose. |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Nov 19 2018, 03:13 PM) Applied for PBB BT last week, and instalments posted on PBE on 16 Nov. Until now no confirmation SMS from PBB and cash has not be paid into the other CCs. 16 Nov is Friday, today is Monday. Should be posted by sometime today.Anyone experienced similar delay with PBB recently? They are normally very fast... |
