Why no Asus PDA phone with GPS + 3G/3.5G..  sad.gif Asus fan here hehe.
*
Asus P735 hmm.gif ..Although no internal GPS the ext one actually sufficient...For those hardcore GPS PDA users, they actually prefer ext GPS unit for better placement nearer to w/screen which built-in GPS unit can't do..

@ dokidoki : if you wish get this fantastic alarm progam, which is simply called pTravel Alarm that is the best ive used so far,. You may get it HERE
It has no problems using any mp3s to wake you up or allow you to snooze using the large buttons.  yawn.gif
*
He probably got the initial rejection symptom of switching from either Nokia/Sony ericson...& found out that lotsa of thingy in the normal h/set not in PDA phone... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif I bet the nxt complain will be the keypad! biggrin.gif ..Anyway thnx for the link...new alarm clock soon... rclxms.gif

Doki,

Although lotsa things u could not find such as nice ringtones, no keypad, lousy wallpapers & etc....but as mentioned by others, u can get those free from any freeware sites available..if u know how to....(Some illegals/cracked)....and this is the beauty of PDA phone compare wth normal h/phone.....

BTW..I hv changed my skin to HTC Kaiser...cool...but everytime switch to weather page its automatically acquire GPRS $$$..to get the latest weather report....cool too but not the "$$$-GPRS!" cry.gif

use gprs on the car while going to work...on for 10mins then battery oso from 100% drop to 90%~
*
U mean GPS? biggrin.gif ..dun confuse GPRS & GPS..ho... biggrin.gif ..Normal-lah if on GPS, Bluetooth & Wifi...My highest non-stop wth GPS =4.5 hours on full charge...that is not bad consider I get only 2hr wth my old HP6515.
Reason why PDA phone having low batt life is because of the following reasons:

1) Screen bigger than normal phone & the brightness
2) Wifi & bluetooth are power hunger
3) GPS another culprit
4) other Windows based programs such as media palyer, words/excel & etc

Try 4 days on idle mode (Only on the phone) & screen brightness to 3 bar..u can get 4 days b4 nxt charge!...No diff from your old phone rite... biggrin.gif

well i'm searching for my first pda and asus p535 is one which i would consider...
juz want to ask u guys...coz i heard people say if that asus pda has difficulties in finding its spare parts..and plus with asus poor after sales service...so iz it worth to buy this gadget?and also does there any prob with the gadget after we upgrade it to WM6?
*
FYI, Asus is oledi the official OEM producer of O2 products...(Previously O2 phones are based on HTC platform)..and so lotsa parts sharing the same parts available by O2 atom, zinc, life & etc.....

Just found out that the battery also share the same O2 battery, where OEM batteries widely available in LYP if the original kaput)...check this forum:

Hi doki doki,
there's a version of GPS Proxy called the 2.2a made specially for Asus P535 coz the conventional one wouldn't run.

Try looking ard malsingmaps to download it and it should solve ur problem
*
That's the baud rate correction version but it is old version. The latest version for Asus is GPS proxy 2.2c2 (Only for Asus) & only available from Malsingmaps. It is solely for the purpose of using the latest "locked maps". 2.2a can be used only for the unlocked maps dated Jun'2007.

I planning to buy asus P535. But P750 need to coming out from market. I dislike the style of P750. What you all thnk? P535 best or P750 best? How about the battery of P535, can last long?
*
Both having same speed. but P750 having all sort of connectivities which P535 dun hv such as 3G & radio.

Battery life...Running on idle auto speed and only on phone function 4 days. On full GPS - 5hours. On BT but no GPS~1-2days. So its all depending on how u use.

*
You must be joking biggrin.gif ...P535 picture quality is one of the best & even better than Dopod/HTC PDA phone or even those SonyEricson phone....U need to press 1/2way to allow auto focus & once PQ crystal clear snap.

I also facing same problem hang but one day 2 to 3 times, I am not sure is it because of new software that I install or because of WM6. I try to remove some software but still not 100% stable. One of reason I think is alarm, because I set my alarm 7am everyday. Everyday I wakeup my 535 is hang (I can see green light but no respond if I click any button). Sometime hang when I run more than one application. Some time hang just like that.

I still have 26M about 50% free on my memory and 1600M free on MiniSD CPU mode Auto.

Any suggestion?

Thanks
*
Yes normally hang due to ext applications...uninstall or hard reset....

Goto System>Remove program or do it in active sync...Easiest hard reset by going to system>default setting

If I do hard reset by going to system>default setting all install software will be deleted right?

I don't care about all software but I need mapking and GPS software only. Can I backup it or I can download full one from the net? Or is it provided by ASUA website?

Thanks
*
When a system crash...no choice..really have to hard reset. sad.gif ..yes u lost everthing except the core windows CE and ASUS package softwares such as biz card reader, GPS driver, voice recogniser & etc. But too bad Mapping softwares (Not GPS driver) will be deleted too i.e ur Mapking or Garmin Que.

The Mapking is FOC anyway & comes wth provided CD so installing & re-keying ur license key should not be a problem...Garmin Que & GPS proxy..u hv to re-setup again....Thats' are the 2 important software u need.

BTW, I hv been hard resetting P535 numerous time...yes u might need atleast 1-2 hours to get important softwares installed..well for faster operation why not..another important thing to do after hard resetting & installing core softwares: PLS backup themoment u got it rite!...and subsequent to this u can even hard reste every few weeks & keep on uploading ur backup file & that's very fast..only 15min... biggrin.gif

how to do in active sync? i jz want to remove certain games...not all...pls help... thanks
*
Same-lah..(dun hv active sync now) but roughtly..goto some of the top part of the available icon and look for "remove program" doing in PDA is much faster & easier...but I still find hard reset is the best way. bcos removing a program also will leave certain registry inside the PDA & if that's the corrupt registry..it will still slow down the pda...just like PC...u remove certain intalled games from ur PC but certain registry key is still remained in the main registry & the more ur uninstalled those games/programmes the more slower is ur PC

i heard my fren said, his O2 allowed him to adjust the ram ... but not sure for p535.. how har? adjust the ram means like how many rams put for program, how many put for others etc.... thanks!!

i have no programmes running in the background loh...

byw, using mms also makes my device hang....sigh

Added on October 25, 2007, 2:49 pmwhere can i get free software ?? any recommended website? thanks
*
The adjust Ram feature is available on old Window mobile i.e b4 WM2005. My old HP6515 (WM2003) has that feature..but it is useless...it's auto adjust bck to actual after a while.

Since u dun installed any major programmes, just hard reset it & keep the PDA running on essential softwares..& it is good to soft reset, close all programs (I'm using Oxios Close App & also Clear Temp program )on daily basis

The free PPC software website oledi in the pinned section above by sonyclie...

what do u mean by major program? if i do hard reset, i will loose chinese star and some of other software...

well... do u think the ram allocated for program is too little? only 50.66mb...and the storage is 163.24mb...
*
Definitely the none Asus sanctioned programmes will be deleted..It is good actually..& u can reinstalled back in Mini SD card instead of main memory,,bcos seeing ur available free space I think u installed most of ur programmes in main memory..U should hv installed all ur programmes in mini SD instead of main memory..This definitely slow down the overall PDA speed & possible cause of crash too....Most of my programmes are in Mini SD & I only installed GPS proxy & Garmin Que in Main memory....That also I regretted..thinking of hard reset & reinstall all again to mini SD....

FYI my frre space is 80mb..if I take-out Garmin Que & GPS proxy..I probably getting 100MB free space!
