thank you so much...

I've jz done a hard reset on my device becoz my phone was hang whenever i want to log to wm6... now my device is empty...need to go to the shop to reinstal all programs ... sigh.... or anybody can help? hehe... thanks in advance
*
Yep.confirmed..just insert the bonus cd & after autorun, it will prompt u to install SPB bckup just follow the instruction to register & ur email address..the registration code will be send to u shortly..& just extract the code from ur email address & continue wth the installation...U can also use the bonus cd to buy other spb product at discounted price..

For other softwares...why need to go bck to the seller??..Just install urself-lah...(via active sync...or attaching a executable file in ur sd card....After everything stable, backup the stable applications via spb backup and maintained this bckup..if future programmed=s hand, hard reste & reinstall via bckup..save up hours of re-installation

but i dun have map king, travel alarm, spb plus, text twist and etc softwares leh.... blush.gif

Added on November 6, 2007, 12:00 ami still can't get the serial number...sigh

btw, how to configure the gos? com 1 with how many baud rate?

thanks again
*
Follow the pinned Free PPC software by Sonyclie above & u get all sorts of free PPC stuff u wanted to...except Mapking.. u need to buy the software..I think about RM200...The easiest follow the link to malsingmaps in my siggy & read on how to install the free Garmin Que & GPS proxy in the wiki...I prefer this free Garmin Que rather than Mapking..but beware..it is not easy to setup for 1st timer...

The serial number for spb will be Email to u after u register online. To configure External GPS, goto setting>system>External GPS>Hardware> & under GPS Hardware port..choose "COM2"..& abud rate =4800. But without an application u can't use GPS

enquiry, how much is P535 cost now? with set equit, for 2nd hand P535 RM1500 with set equit worth to buy?
*
I saw the latest pricing at LYP retailing at RM1998. However as confirmed by others, new P535 does not comes wth bundled Mapking2007 & thus u need to buy the software yourself..~RM250.

For the 2nd hand unit..Most probably 1st gen wth WM5 (Easily ugradeable) + bundled wth Licensed Mapking2007. I will go for 2nd hadn unit if !'m u... biggrin.gif

*
It is better to check 1st b4 commit such as check during COD. Or go to the shop to check wth the advertised lelong.com/LYN ( I bot my 1st GPS phone this way).

As the title of this thread...GPS phone..so for sure it has built in GPS chipset..U only need the software to acquire satelite signal..Learn more from the link in my siggy...(Goto their Help/wiki page 1st)

The 2nd hand price should be RM1.5K..should not be lower than this....if no I will cry further.. cry.gif cry.gif

*
U mean recommendation on 2nd hand unit?..If 2nd hand unit..u can refer to the www.lelong.com.my Normally there are few..but non located in LYP. U can find those shops (Advertised in lelong.com) at Summit, USJ & Suabng Parade not in Lowyat.

LYP will be those AP importers of NEW phone (Can't see any 2nd hand seller in Lowyat advertised in lelong.) ..numerous of them there but I was told same boss....Fresh Gear, PDA expert & etc...all almost

thank you for reply, i have refer to the adv, but what about the feature? izzit good
*
Feature wise, it's lack the followings compare to Dopod D810:

1) No 3G & Edge
2) No FM radio
3) No GPS coordinate position on the picture taken by camera

However it has the following that D810 dun hv:

1) Speed is faster than D810 (520mhz compare to 400Mhz) & thus calculation of routing is faster.
2) Using the Sirf111 satelite chipset which is still one of the best in the market...accuracy almost as good as a standalone GPS receiver
2) Having autofocus & macro shoot and making the camera as good as a normal Digital camera - The quality is much better than Dopod
3) Business card reader..damn cool..just snap any biz card & the detail auto store in ur phone directory!

Anyone can help me on this. Plzzzz

I have small problem, In power setting I set "turn of device if not use for 1 minute". It turns off after one minute. But when I turn on my device again "click on power button" it will show "today page". I want the system to show the last page before it turn off. For example, I am running Microsoft reader and reading some ebook. After while not use, my device will turn off, when I turn on again my device I want to see the last page which is Microsoft reader not today page. My current setting always show today page when ever in on my device.

Do I need to change some setting or install some software?
*
Sorry can't help much..I prefer if the phone can switch off everything automatically + all the programmes to save power/battery & faster running not to keep as a cache... biggrin.gif ...So diff from what u want.. biggrin.gif

backlight set to the lowest level la. That's what most of us do anyways. Unless u hafta use ur device in bright sunlight
*
just to add...If really want to save more: set the backlight to 1bar!! but u will end up having difficulties of reading... biggrin.gif ..normally I set to 3 bar and if 2 bar is just nice although u can't see anything under the sun! ALSO try not to use GPS, Wifi & Bluetooth & delete/clear all running programmes from memories after each usage.

My experiences:

Battery wth 2 bars & no GPS/no Wifi/No bluetooth wth few calls/day - 4 days b4 nxt charging
Battery wth 3 bars & no GPS/no Wifi/No bluetooth wth few calls/day - 3 days b4 nxt charging
Battery wth 1/2 full bars & no GPS/no Wifi/No bluetooth wth few calls/day - 2 days b4 nxt charging
Using GPS wth 3 bars - 4.5hours b4 charging, Using battery wth 1/2 full bar - 3.5 hrs b4 charging.

thats for Mapking, for Garmin Que there really is Kek Lok Si temple, even though you type "temple" it will not show "Kek Lok Si temple" instead it will shows destinations starting with the word "temple" only..... rclxub.gif

I was wondering u are refering to the same malsingmaps or Mapking's original maps..u r making thing very confuse here..anyway, nothing is perfect, there are pros 7 cons on both softwares..just adapt to it..but what I try to stress is most of us (in Malsingmaps) started wth Mapking but ended up like Garmin rather than Mapking.. If u like Mapking no one is stopping.. biggrin.gif

No 1 is my choice. no hanging...save battery sumore...but dun press too long-lah or else it will be a total off/soft reset!
the 2nd method will definitely causing your battery to drain faster than usual!! FYI, using no 1 & on low brightness my P535 can last me >3 days & sometime 4 days max. providing you use it solely on call, no BT connected, no wifi & no GPS.. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(xyber9 @ Jan 16 2008, 08:43 PM)
How do you guys switch off the P535?

1. Press the buttton on the top left corner
OR
2. Let the pda go to backlight mode and after that press the hold button on the left side.

Because sometimes when I use method #1 my pda cannot be activated again and I have to soft reset it only after that I can use it again.

U need to install GPS proxy to enable tracking..learn more on how to install GPS proxy & how to save & view the tracklogs all in the wiki. rclxms.gif
Subsequent to the gps proxy, u will need to install Garmin Que too as this is the main software to show the GPS maps. without GPS proxy, Garmin que will not work unless u are using garmin GPSr

QUOTE(xyber9 @ Jan 18 2008, 01:13 PM)
How do u use to the p535 to make gps track?

I am interested to learn so that i can contribute to the malsing maps.
*

Added on January 19, 2008, 12:24 amI think last mth someone hv checked. The RM1999 is without Mapking. The retail price of mapking in Singapore is S$99 for Singapore maps..Not sure how much retailer in KL selling. U can buy Mapkings maps for Malaysia online too..can't remember how much..goto their website & check...rough idea should be ~RM250

For that price, it is easier for u to learn the hard way by follow the wiki in malsingmaps on how to install GPS proxy +Garmin Que which are virtually free!

QUOTE(hOnGhOnG @ Jan 18 2008, 11:36 PM)
I have 1 question to ask, the price of RM1999, is it exclude MapKing software? If I want to get a GPS software like MapKing, how much should I top up?

Thanks!

NMEA Input: GPS Port Error: UART
Error Framing,
Garmin Protocol Output: App Port Error
Wait Failed:0
This is what i have set

Virtual Com Port : COM5(selected), COM3  Choose Com5
Extensions -> NMEA INPUT -> Configure -> GPS COM PORT -> COM2(GPS DEVICE) OK-Com2
Extensions -> NMEA INPUT -> Configure -> OUTPUT COM PORT -> COM5(GPSProxy Device) (Should be Com 0 or blank!)
Extensions-> Garmin Protocol Output - > Configure -> COM5(GPSProxy Device) OK
Settings -> (tick) Run External App After Proxy Startup (then add the path below) /MiniSD Card/Garmin/GarminQue.exe
when u add Virtual Com Port,  COM3 will pop up, then add again COM5 pop up. should i remove the COM3?..Yes pls remove com3
do i need to overwrite the gpsproxy 2.2 with 2.2c2? -

in Garmin Interface page, there is no COM5 to choose? Sometime this thing do happened, but try to run the GPS proxy first & once the Garmin que auto boot-up, then only u set the Garmin interface page
