The stock speaker for Myvi is some brand like "Betamax". I changed the speakers on the Myvi twice so far. First changed with stock CRV Kenwood speakers which fit just fine but then re-changed with 4 way pioneer's.

There are like 3 screws for the stock Myvi rears and dont fit fine for all type of speakers. The rear doors unfortunately needs alot of sound proofing "dynamat maybe".

I agree using DLS R6A at the back is not really the best. They should be at the front. To drive DLS an amp is prefered.

myvi front, stock position only can take 4" speaker
you can fit a 6" but you need to do customization work

your 2 ch amp should be used to drive you front speaker which ever you prefer to put there

i assume both are component speakers? forgive my noobness as never use dls b4

if you think you want good sound, then customize is way to go... before you do anything go and listen to some MyVi that have customize then you know how good it sound like although only with front speakers...

think if you can afford DSL R6A (if its original) then your budget / sound setup should be better then you mention put it at the back...

what mode of MB Quart youre using, better then the DSL ???

If you get a 4 channel amp then all also can. I changed the front stock speakers Myvi with 4" 2 way pioneers.

hmm ... i went and survey, total up cost me RM 600 ... two front door with sound proof, installation of R6A in front, amp ...

Found out :-

a) sound proof : RM 200 per door x 2 = RM 400
b) speaker installation : RM 120
c) Papan for front : RM 80

Is it worth ?

Found this at Hi-Power at Batu Berendam

For the soundproof, I am unsure how many layers as he didnt mention but the sound proof covered whole door.

For speaker installation, cost around RM 120 because didnt buy speaker from them, I survey everywhere, all around that price if didnt get their speaker, what to do ?

Why u wanna put speakers at the rear door? Unless u want to play dolby digital 5.1 surround stuff, then you should spend the money on using better components speaker on the front door.

Correct. Front staging is what you should look for. It's like watching movie - the screen in front of you not at your back. Spend your money wisely and ask advice from frens .... some of the shop wanna your money only.

not saz it doesnt work, but later you you find problem on sound and vibrations... most of the MyVis usually cut the hole on the door for the speakers to fit in...

i think normally ppl will use ready made fibre panel to fit in the speakers instead of wood panel
so a bit weird ler....

moreover, normal car will screw the speaker on the door frame instead of door panel... laugh.gif

1st of all, but cutting the hole, you will give more space for the speakers and interms in speakers reflex, the bass will sound better, then with soundproof that part, it sound even better... if tuners tune youre system, they will feel that the system will feel not right (this i dont know how to explain)

the advice was given as some of my member also done the same thing, and after redo it, the difference can be felt... understand that most ppl dont want to spoilt the door, its up to individual, if you okay with it then its fine... just want to let you know...

as for your sound proofing, more likely its like sound dampening, as mostly sound proofing will be on the steel door...

seriously if u guyss had sound proof ur whole door panel at the inner frame and outer panel, then the response of ur mid bass will had some changes which will result in poor freq response, non natural sound, stage & depth prob and some others....this is thru my experience....and my car are having this prob now...

just sharing it, if u wna a real sound from ur mid bass, try find a enclosure for ur mid bass which is not too big...then u will know how exactly ur mid bass sound....

at first i also didn notice my bass got something wrong, and keep finding wat is the source.... but after i take out the midbass and tweet to try it in a small enclosure and put in the place, the sound are brilliant....

actually by dampening both side of the door, u are creating a quite large enclosure for ur mid bass....the resonance freq will be lower and for some spk it will lost the kick bass and some low mid also....freq around 100-300....thus the sound are not as expected....

i think this is caused by diff spk got diff characteristic....

Ask you guys, I have told you before that I fixed the speaker behind, but now when I on a little bit loud, the door vibrates. The speaker 6.5" managed to fit in properly into the hole but the door create vibration. So in order to solve this problem, I do need a sound proof right ? I dont intend to go back where I fix this sound system. So how much usually they charged for the sound proof per door and what brand? I don't want to get charged RM 200 per piece ... sigh~

sigh... y u have 1/2 question in my thread and another 1/2 in my thread? ha! ha! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

the thing vibrating is not the (steel) door itself.. i think it is the door panel (plastic) which is vibrating.. check it out if it is..

btw, ur back speakers are screwed at the (steel) door? o the door panel (plastic)?

sit at the rear passenger sit.. blow the system.. and check out if the door panel plastic is vibrating o not..

if it is plastic.. i think i need 2 screw it on the door panel.. bcz my stock speakers for the rear vibrates too... i found out the it was bcz of the grill on the door panel.. it was too thin..

u go troubleshoot of the vibrating sound 1st.. if it's really the steel.. then u can go sound proof..

but if it is the door panel(plastic) then u need to do a placement of the speakers edi.. which is on the door panel..

I have checked already, the problem lies on the white transparent plastic that stick with the door steel ... he asked me to fix sound proof ... recommend me Wurtz (dont know what the heck is that) cost around RM 280 ... Not only that, the way he will apply is he will apply inside the door, it wont be whole piece, but cut pieces and stick ... what you guys think ? I also unsure whether it's dampening or sound proof ?

that installer is totally noob
wurtz is not to install inside the door frame
it shud be install on the door frame itself
and also in 1 piece, not cut into small pieces
