No problem biggrin.gif

It was a pain to download torrent last time on Streamyx, it was either no seeder or TM blocked the port, now I am just trying to seed as much as I can since TIME is generous enough to give us symmetrical upload speed innocent.gif

Speaking of seeding, I just realized I have seeded more than 2.7TB on a single torrent cool2.gif

I tweaked some ports and the QoS on the dlink router and I'm getting this now on speedtest:

lol

Torrent speed improved greatly and 4K youtube still ok.
*
You just got the infamous Dlink router glitch, you need to factory reset the router in order get back the normal speed.

As reported here and here.

Factory reset guide.

Make sure you know your PPPoE username and password first before proceeding.

I subscribed to 100 mbs, but connection to oversea's servers i never get more than 16 Mbps.
Especially Europe or US Servers. Is there any special setting need to be done to hit those speed?
Please help
*
You did the test using LAN cable (cat5e/cat6 cable) or via WiFi?

Can you get full 100Mbps on local server?

Hehe, no problem, I am glad to help others here biggrin.gif

Yes i can on local servers, but not oversea's. Are you using same Dlink 850 router like ours?. Is this anything got to do with routers or just setting?
*
I am using Asus RT-AC3200, I didn't do any special settings in the router, maybe your location is congested? hmm.gif

Any other user can do a speedtest to oversea's servers to confirm this? (US, UK etc.)

Say the router is just beside my face, will i get a decent speed about 200mpbs+?

Ill leave the spare 100mpbs to the rest of the family using it when im streaming stuff tongue.gif
*
Hmm, out of my curiosity, why won't you use an ethernet cable if the router is just beside you (or your face as mentioned laugh.gif )?

I can see many people don't want to use cable either because it is ugly or router is too far away from their PC, so they got no choice but to go wireless, so this isn't applied to your case I suppose (router is very near and cable can be easily managed since it is short)?

Ethernet cable is cheap too, you don't have to spend few hundred bucks to get a WiFi USB adapter whose speed is not guaranteed.

Because like ive stated previously, stupidly forgot my device capability.

Even if i placed that Darth Vader fleshlight on top of my laptop, i have 100mpbs port LAN  devil.gif

So yeah screw me i need a new laptop, but in mean time i can spend that few hundred buck right? right?  brows.gif
*
Hmm okay, you never mention it is your LAN port limitation in your first post so I thought it was WiFi card.

So your laptop only comes with 100Mbps LAN port, I guess the USB port is also 2.0 only, I am not sure if USB 2.0 will bottleneck the speed or not since the native USB interface on AC WiFi card is USB 3.0 hmm.gif

I have Asus PCE-AC68, tested it and only able to get this result.

user posted image

There are 2 thick walls in between this WiFi card and router (Asus RT-AC3200), speed will go up when I get closer to the router.

Since you said your router is very close to you then I guess it should do the trick thumbsup.gif

Hey dude this what im looking for. Thanks! Off i go wasting my money in something i dont really need (getting decent 60mbps or 6-7mb/s)on my current laptop wireless network card).  brows.gif

Will come back with speedtest once i purchase it
*
Mine is PCIe based WiFi card (AC1900), the one you are going to get is USB based WiFi card (AC1200), so the performance might not be the same with mine, so don't blame me when you cannot get the speed that you wish to get later ya sweat.gif

I can get 80-90 mbps on speedtest with handphone but only 50 on PC.
When i was configuring Google DNS, i notice my IPv6 Connectivity says no Internet access.  Is that the reason? How to fix it?

both through wifi and same distance from router
*
Most likely WiFi card specs aren't the same.

IPv6 doesn't contribute to slow speedtest result because speedtest is done via IPv4 for now.

You can enable IPv6 in your router.

Hey guys, just moved over from Symphonet. Currently on the 100 package. My previous 30mb symphonet can download 3mb/s but now my Time can only download 2.5mb/s.

Speedtest is fine, it shows 100mb/s but actual download is so slow!

Can someone please tell me what to do? icon_question.gif

Please elaborate more on what you are downloading? Direct download/torrent etc.

I copied your download link to test on my connection, the speed is ok here though it doesn't max out my bandwidth (this is normal because rarely got any server can fully max out my connection rolleyes.gif ), alldebrid got speed limit applied to free account? Or you are using premium account?

*
Have you tried restarting the modem and router? And test LAN cable speed too if possible.

This afternoon I was on WiFi and just now I tried to download via LAN, it did max out my bandwidth (64MB * 8 = 512Mbps).

2.4GHz only - PS4, iPhone 4

2.4GHz and 5GHz - S6 Edge, iPhone 5, 6, 6, 6S, Xiaomi Note

Laptop and desktop capability depends on the WiFi card, since you didn't state the exact model so I cannot check for you.

You can do this to check if your WiFi card got 5GHz band yourself.

ahh... thanks. it does help. anyway it's usually latest model of laptop usually support both 2.4 & 5 ghz network?

from the link it mention if the laptop or desktop show radio type support 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, and 802.11n means support both. if only support 2.4ghz normally show which type?
*
2.4GHz runs on b/g/n.

5.0GHz runs on n/a/ac.

n is usable on both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.

Some newer 2.4GHz WiFi cards do support n but it is limited to 2.4GHz only, if there is ac in the result then it means your WiFi card supports 5.0GHz.

If your Huawei modem is white color one (HG8240H) then it is a Gigabit modem, they won't change for you since it is already equipped with GE port.

Another router option would be TP-LINK Archer C7, price is around your budget (might need some top up).

previously the Huawei modem is black color hg8240. so is this compatible for higher end router?

between TP link archer c7 and the dlink 850L which one is better? i read some user in here complaint the dlink 850L got connecting speed issue?
*
HG8240 is also equipped with GE port.

I don't have Dlink 850L so I don't have any comment on it, I bought a C7 two months ago for my neighbour at RM 420, it is a pretty solid router below RM 500, so far I haven't receive any complaint from my neighbour who is on 100Mbps package, if you are using 100Mbps, it shouldn't have any issue (easy to achieve 100Mbps on 5GHz), if you are using 300Mbps/500Mbps package, please increase your budget for a more higher end router for a more stable speed via WiFi.

ahh.. thanks alot. btw, do you know the different between Archer C7 & D7? look almost identical and the price around the same  hmm.gif
*
C7 is a router while D7 is a modem + router for ADSL+2 connection (like Streamyx).

Since we already have a Huawei modem (ONU) from TIME, so you just need to get a router which is C7 in this case.

anyone know y some user can enjoy RM129 for 100m?

our new appartment in penang will be ready, according to management, time will available

can we enjoy the same price for 100m?
*
Those who already on TIME Fiber before the massive speed upgrade will remain the same monthly commitment fee.

For example, before free speed upgrade, 10Mbps package is RM 129, so after free upgrade to 100Mbps, the fee remains the same.

New user will follow new pricing.
